I was wondering if there is any good builds for just using the rifle I have a problem with my hands so I cant switch kits out that easy and can you give me some advice on what armor to get as well I recently started to play engi so I am not there yet but I am lvl 80
I just got my guardian to lvl 80 and now I need armor but I don’t really know what to get. Should I build tank or damage or healing. I want to be able to do dungeons and WvW. I am fine with supporting as well kinda enjoy it but don’t want to be useless when I solo something.
I think you should let bags be picked up automatically or you can let it be picked up automatically and let it look like a loot bag so that you can open it later you will save space as well then

So I am a p/p thief almost just as rare as a legendary weapon but I want to get my legendary dual pistols.
Here is the thing the legendary pistol is a bit 2 sweet and clown like I am a thief with dual pistols my main color is black I am like a dark hunter hunting invaders in WvW so why would I want a clown pistol?
Maybe you can get some nice Van Hellsing pistols you know the dude that hunts vamps with the hat (the anime one)

Please share your p/p build here I would love to see how your set ups work and so on.
Please do not say that p/p is not a good option because I play p/p and I am usually the last one to die if a zerg comes by this is mainly for p/p builds and to learn how to play with it better.
I really think they should modify this utility.
Right now we can see a lot of thieves who use it only for the “10-5-f1-1-2-2-2-2-2-2-” combo. It’s kinda broken that way because if they don’t insta-kill someone, they switch of weapon, they use shadow’s refuge then they flee with SB.
For a more common use it is not a usefull utility. Why is that ? Because it makes us lose all of our endurance + stop the endurance’s regeneration for a certain amount of time. It’s the worst thing to use to break stun actually, but it is our only offensive break stun, and by that i mean something that improve our DPS not just a TP.My guess is they should nerf the movement speed improvement (actually +100%, i think of something more like 30-50%) and delete the negative effect. That way it will be a great break stun and they will finaly manage to properly nerf GC-trololo build.
And maybe.. I just say MAYBE, whiners are going to cry less.
If p/p was suppose to be a condition weapon then why does its traits go into crit?

P/P is absolutely useless in its current state and whenever I see someone use it I die a little inside.
P/P may not be the best thing out there to use but I dont like daggers or the sword. Its fun to play with knowing that p/p sucks but still killing things with it it gives a challenge and not a lot of people use it so that why I like it
Just so that I make sure I didn’t misinterpret what I just watched, let me clarify:
You made a video that shows you chasing an elementalist halfway across the map, and then you had to summon your thieves guild in order to beat him?
Rather safe than sorry even with out thiefs guild I would have won and at that time there was nothing to do it was like 3am in the morning so yeah I summoned thiefs guild they are awesome.

So I had this Idea to improve the p/p unload skill. Since the shot you fire almost looks like caltrops that you are shooting at the target I thought well it would be awesome if that unload does the same damage but the shots also explodes leaving a 3 second caltrops at the targets area with will bleed and cripple. It will go well with the trait uncatchable in trickery.
Since we dont have a cripple or a immobilize in our p/p set and it will make it a bit better for multiple targets as well.
What do you guys think about this?
So here I am again with the p/p skills in my head since I really love my guns.
I want to make a suggestion to improve Unload.
Okay so why I am saying this well the other day I just used one pistol and I saw the skill Repeater so when you use this skill it fires 5 shot. Now repeater + repeater = 10 shot and that is only using one pistol. Now since you have 2 pistols to use unload can’t you make it 10 shots or is it going to be 2 OP its only 2 shots more than the original 8 shots per unload.
For the skill repeater is cost 5 initiative and unload also cost 5 so unload wins by 3 shots.

This build is a Survival Build made to heal you and help you to stay alive. In this video my armor is not the right set of armor I would use. I am saving up for some new armor and upgrades. For the Armor I would go with is Toughness, Power and Vitality and for the upgrades I will go with Precision and some Critical damage
weapons: P/P + SB
So I been watching my p/p videos to see what am I doing wrong then it hit me. Pistol has only one skill in the no 1 skill. Well that sounds a bit confusing so let me explain. If you are using daggers and you use the number 1 skill you get 3 types of strikes same with the sword. So why not give it to the pistols as well?
Let me know what you guys think of this and if you like this idea of mine or is it crap
Hey there I have a lvl 80 thief and I am afraid that people that does not know the class will nerf it so bad that till the point where you cant play thief anymore. I am mostly a WvW player and I run a stealth survival build witch is 0/20/30/20/0 and I take all the healing I can get out of it and condition removal. My main weapons are dual pistols witch I know is not the best set to use but I like them since I dont like running after people but anyway even with this build I tend to get beaten down fast if I dont doge properly or I get stuck in one place for to long. Maybe you can up the defense a bit so I dont get owned in 3 seconds by a warrior with its great sword. I get that we are thiefs but with a more tank build for a thief I want to take a few hits not get beaten down in 3 seconds. I think the pistols really need work as well a lot of people are complaining about this are you ever going to do something about the pistols? I use my build because it has the skill to heal for 3 seconds or 4 seconds when you are in stealth you get like a 1000 health back I think my unload can take that away in one go with out any traits so not really that good but it help. Basically what I am saying dont listen to players that dont know the class since they think every thing out stealth is OP and it is unlimited.

Im p/p 25-30-15-0-0 and it rocks, other than warrior i can handle anyone and in zerg mashes i just hop in and out of stealth rocking ppl who get to 50% health and hop back into stealth, all about skill i dont see nearly as much skill being applied to theif for how much potential as it has
Stealth is what the thief is all about I think they build the thief around the idea of stealth so if you are not using it your kinda missing out. I can take a warrior but Mesmers is the one thing I have a lot of trouble with you cant really get dmg on them and my stealth is only so much so they give me a hard time. I really have to go all out to win them. For Warriors I have range and I can doge a lot so I can stay out of there way but they are hard as well
Good luck! I would not encourage anyone to run with P/P though. MH Pistol does significantly less DPS than it is supposed to because of an issue with Vital Shot’s attack speed, which forces you to stack power and rely on Unload spam to do anything worthwhile. This in turn destroys the utility of the set as it leaves you with no initiative to spend tactically.
It’s just altogether broken right now, but I’m optimistic it’ll be addressed soon.
I agree the p/p is a bit broken but I love playing with them it takes a bit of skill knowing when to pop that heal and so one but I can handle a few guys with my pistols just dont let them hit you. You have to watch that health at all times. My best fight with p/p was against 1 vs 4 I went down one time but my bleeding got the guy so I rallyed to finish off the other two but it was a tough but a good fight. Remember to stealth when you want to finish a guy other wise your dead if there is more than 1
I decided to do a thief p/p build for you guys since there are not really many p/p builds out there this build is my build I run with with my dual pistols. Its an survival build so you are going to have a lot of heals but some crit damage as well.

I play a p/p thief and I am pretty good with it in WvW but I want to increase my range to a 1000 or so. Do you get upgrades that can do that if so please tell me.
I agree our weapons skills are not up to standerd I would love to see p/p redo since its just not worth using in the beginning I played p/p got the the achievement of pistol master as well but its just not that good in WvW or PvP they failed the p/p please help out the thief we are not asking to be OP we just want to be able to play with any weapon and not get punished for choosing p/p instead of d/d or any other weapon set
In my time playing the thief I found the pistols really weak compared to the short bow the pistols will lose every time since In WvW the only skill you can use is unload and its cost a lot of initiative.
I think they should fix the dual pistols or at least give it a bit more power spamming unload is not really that helpful and the thief does not have a lot of weapons to begin with compared to the other professions.
I do love the Idea of the dual pistols its looks awesome but it’s not useable. On a class that does not have a great deal of defends they should do a bit more damage or just do something with it please.
