The title says it all. I’m a PVX / WVW player on Blackgate. Looking for a more casual / social guild as well. I do use TeamSpeak or Ventrillo. If you require your players to do 4hrs of WVW when they log on each day you aren’t for me. Lol!

Thanks!

The arrow was red and not on the mini-map? I never saw it at all lol. I guess I fail for being red / green colorblind and having to figure out where it’s at with all the other particle effects going on.

Make the game to appeal to the masses so we can all enjoy it please, and not to a guild organized to beat one boss. Particularly since the event only lasts a month too.

I bet they just rushed to get the content out to us and didn’t have time to put finishing details on how to fight the bosses in-game. We had new details like nutrient and things introduced into the wurm fight and no one knew what to do. I want the game to be a challenge but come on. It was like the blind leading the blind to get a drink of water. I feel bad for the smaller servers because it’s going to be very hard for them to complete this unless your guild is specifically focused on beating it.

I totally agree with you. I’m getting annoyed at having to use Dulfy to figure out what we’re suppose to do in-game.

Lornar’s Pass was easier to understand but apparently they have game mechanics to figure out since it fails, but Bloodtide is like watching a monkey hump a football.

What I’m asking for is more clarification in-game as to what we’re suppose to do, but make it challenging. Is that possible?

I’m getting tired of going to Dulfy to find out what to do after each update, and I know all of you do that too. So, there needs to be more clarification in-game. If not then we’ll just keep looking elsewhere… whether it’s Dulfy, Reddit, or some other fanboy site.

I love how Anet added this living story elements into the game because it forces us to play through the whole world. I also agree that there should be some difficulty to beat a boss so that it’s not “Stackwars.” However, it seems like since Teq and this recent living story update that they are making it nearly impossible to login and play. Now after every living story update I have to go to the internet and read Dulfy to figure what I need to do. I think there needs to be more clarification INGAME as to what we need to do for events. Otherwise, people will keep getting extremely frustrated and will not do them which will make it nearly impossible to do it. Unless, they are trying to appeal to a very small minority of people and force everyone that wants to kill the boss to form a guild (like how TTS kills Teq) I think something might need to change. The event window basically tells us nothing that we need to specifically do, so if more detail could be added there it would be great. The fact that we got no loot during the event from mobs and nothing at the end of the wurm failure was pretty sucky.

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I am not seeing the +10% crit chance increase when I weapon swap to use swords. I did check this in my H tab when I was in combat as well and no increase to crit chance. Is this a display / effect bug?

Thanks,
Madman

Commanding; I stop talking while fighting

Annoying chat is the single thing that keeps most people I know from joining a main channel.

Actually, it’s commanders yelling at people. The majority of people I’ve talked to in many guilds say they don’t join WVW TS because there’s too much negativity from the commanders. I rarely find a cool, calm, and collected commander, which is what you want. Not someone that blasts everyone for 15 minutes because they weren’t on his tag, when the reality is we were greatly outnumbered and it’s effecting their ego as to why we lost. You want someone that can think, respond, and react without getting emotional and angry. You should relay to people what you need but don’t be negative, criticize, or yell. Negativity is highly destructive for group morale. If you lose a battle then shrug it off, waypoint, and try again. That speaks volumes of your commanding ability interms of resiliency. I use to be in many top ranked GVG guilds in GW1 and you would never hear anyone yell. No one would ridicule anyone. We would reflect and TALK about what we could’ve done differently. So, that’s why I’m shocked when I go in TS and hear constant negativity. No one wants to play and hear that, and it’s funny because they then complain about why no one is on TS and how there’s ppl doing lots of random things in WVW. Well, if ppl want to WVW but you’re being negative: 1) they won’t follow you 2) and they’ll do what they want. Be clear and direct that’s all you need. Positivity is a bonus to developing a nice returning group but it’s not required. By being positive I don’t mean you blow sunshine up their butt but you just keep it fun when you can. I think the majority of the regular commanders are getting burned out from pulling long hours and it’s getting to them, and if they keep it up they’ll quit in a few months.

The guild I’m with moved to BG for WVW and many of the members refuse to go on TS for these reasons. No one wants to hear people being talked to like their a 6 year old. Tell us what you’re doing and where you’re going. The comments should stay in your head. If things don’t work out try again and if it’s too much stress for you tag down. I’d rather have a new person giving it a shot because then people communicate more in TS and it’s actually enjoyable.

In my opinion, commanders typically talk too much in WVW and are very condescending / controling which drives the majority of ppl to not jump on TS. I like doing WVW but I’m starting to not use TS because you can follow the blue dorito quite easily and not hear them complain about someone calling “incoming” and not specifing a direction. Seriously, be thankful someone gave you a heads up.

It’s most important to talk when you’re battling and moving in a zerg so everyone is benefiting from the buffs, heals, etc… Think of a zerg as a school of fish. Any fish outside the school are easily picked off by the approaching sharks.

The best commander I’ve seen on BG was someone named Pigvomit because he made it fun and didn’t freak out and blame everyone else if we did lose a battle. He even said countless times… let’s just have fun, and that’s the way it should be. Like I said I think the majority of commanders are too controlling and condescending which is driving a wedge into the WVW community. The TS ppl vs. Non-TS ppl and the commanders show their dislike of non-TS users constantly, but the ironic part is that you don’t need TS for ppl to stay on a tag. There’s a blue tag on your mini map so just move as he does.

Also, don’t call non-TS users PUGS… WE’RE ALL PUGS IN WVW! PUG stands for Pickup Group and WVW is a mass pickup group. Well, I ranted more than I wanted but there is some very good things that you should think about if you plan on commanding. Just have fun and be respectful Good luck!

We attract the wrong type of player.

I joined a dungeon and got harassed by this HOPE guild group for being a warrior without banners. That is my biggest problem is people expect you to have certain meta builds and have no respect for people and what they run. I thought it was even more funny because the current dps warrior meta doesn’t even have banners.

I use this http://www.intothemists.com/calc/index.php?build=-s;9;9;9;0J9T-926-3;0189;15;0VFZ8T;1bUytbUyt10kc0-57;2Vn5oao5pap5q52uVIF310;9;9;9;9;9;9-V6-7q

However, for WVW / PVE I would suggest a 0-10-30-30-0 build with either banner regen, shout heal, or warhorn support.

Wanted: Healing Class

LordMadman.5812

I did more thinking about this and even though the sPVP is team it’s small based that is forced to split. So, individual survivability is required. WVW is quite vast so again being bunkerish will give you some protection until you reach your group. I think what I wouldn’t mind seeing is some point target healing support spells. Particularly for ele’s. The guardian does have some but they are weak heals with long cool downs which doesnt make them attractive to bring over other skills. The ele’s water healing skills are really weak heals per second, so maybe increase the healing output slightly. If they ever get around to releasing GVG which is more team based you will see particularly more staff ele’s coupled with the usual guardians.

LordMadman.5812

When I was playing GW1 I remember seeing the trailer for GW2 and how there was no healer class. I thought to myself wow. ArenaNet is going to make another monumental change in MMO’s. However, after a year of playing I’ve noticed something. There’s trait lines I’ve never been able to spec into because I need survivability. That’s something I didn’t need to necessarily worry about in GW1, because you had a healer. So, I think by going away from a healer class all together we’ve lost build creativity. I think if a monk class was introduced into the game and current healing skills were at least halved. Then, we wouldn’t see people running all the same builds.

Server Match up is terrible

in WvW

Posted by: LordMadman.5812

LordMadman.5812

What will end up happening is that Anet will get inaccurate data because the people in the lower tiers will not play if the match-ups are unbalanced. Many people have already decided that they won’t WVW until the season starts, so what does that mean for this test validity? That it’s non-existent. And, other people are moving or deciding to move to the higher tiers before the season starts, which will make any data they do obtain invalid as well.

Basically, what I’ve confirmed from this is that if you want to WVW at all, in either a group with friends or in a zerg, move to higher tier server. I really would like more structured PVP varieties like in GW1 (HoH, GVG, JQ, FA, and Alliance Battles), which is fair play that resets upon queue into a new match. The way this works now… we’re basically sitting the bench for a week to see what next week rolls and that sucks.

How to implement GvG in 2steps.

50 is a bit much. It was 12 in Guild Wars 1 and any team that doesn’t have 50 people will lose. Even if you had 50 getting everyone to login and play GVG would be tough. I would say 20 would be nice. I think the map with graveyard is very similar to old school GvG. The idea was that each guild had is own hall & lord to defend. I would be in favor of that again.
I think that Anet lost something when they went totally WVW and no longer had different types of structured PVP / GVG play. By different types of structured PVP I mean the Jade Quarry / Fort Aspenwood / Alliance Battles of GW1. What leveled the play in those structured environments was that each team had the same number of people to start, so there was no zerg ball wiping (for the most part). And, if it was out-matched it’s no big deal because queue up and wait for the next random match-up. WVW right now is extremely broken because the server match-up algorithm is poor and out-matched servers are getting stomped even more from the Borderlands bloodlust buff.

Give us different types of structured PVP environments please!!

New server matching system is horrible!

in WvW

Posted by: LordMadman.5812

LordMadman.5812

How can you have T2 servers try to compete against the top T1 server? Wasn’t the purpose of tiers to balance WVW? How can that be thrown aside with this horrible match-up system? I was just in WVW and the other server had ballistas setup outside of our town and right below Godsword. I’ve never seen that ever, and that grieving of players will happen in unbalanced match-ups because the higher tier servers have the people to do things like this. If you’re forcing people to leave low tier servers in an effort to get more money so they will transfer to high tier servers I think all you’re going to do is force more people out of the game all together. Listen to the people or the people will leave. Guild Wars 1 was very good about that.

New Runes/Sigils

I like the addition of the new runes but I think the Superior Rune of Exuberance needs a boost to 5% to make it attractive. Otherwise, with 1.5k vitality your only getting 48 extra stat points in precision, healing, and power. And, for every 100 extra vitality you try to spec for you only get an additional 3 stat points for precision, healing, and power. So, in my opinion, Divinity runes still far exceedes Exuberance because of the obvious +60 to all and extra +12% crit damage, but with 5% to precision, healing, and power it’ll make the attributes about 90 to each which is nice but not overpowering.
