Exactly why I feel a stun should be an added effect. It punishes the individual for letting those stacks build up and lets chill builds have something else in their favor.
What if it were possible that once chill stacks max (I think 5 is the limit) on a target it would cause the target to freeze (stun) for 1-2 seconds, consuming all the stacks? This may seem a bit too much, but burning with enough stacks coming from the right build would kill you instantly and I don’t see them changing that anytime soon.

Maybe it’s just me, but I felt we needed defiance bar for Reaper. I could be wrong.
first before we help you with your build you need to tell us which role you are focusing on in SPVP.
1. bunker
2. DPS
3. Hyridyour selection of sgli, rune and amulet seems weird. You are not tanky enough to bunker and also you are lacking in dps if you intend to go dps. If you are going hyrid you should use cele amulet

I’m looking to go more of a bunker / heal build. I chose those sigils and runes to maximize the life steal and healing as much as I could. I’ll look into the bunker build examples you suggested and see how they work. Thanks for the feedback so far, I have more to work with now in order to improve.
Looks fine. Your damage is gonna kinda suck, though. Where do you plan on using this? I generally find Spite to be better than Death Magic, run much more damage-spec armor and weapons, and use Wells as much as possible. You’re still hard as hell to put down but you also melt face.
Also, you don’t need Signet of the Locust if you take Quickening Thirst.
Right now I’m using it in PvE but I would like to use it in WvW maybe. I might look into swapping out Spite, but I chose Death Magic for more passive condition management and healing while in Death Shroud. Plus the Deadly Strength trait kind of boosts the power I’m lacking from other areas.
I wanted to get a little feedback on a build I’ve been using and see if there is any room for improvement. It’s built around using Death Shroud more defensively and I run it with Cleric’s for the increased power / toughness / healing power. This is under an ideal scenario with numbers and expectations. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks.
For some time now I’ve felt that the spectral skills don’t feel all that “otherworldly”. I also would love to see more spectral type skills implemented for our class. For the existing ones, however, I wanted to throw in my two cents.
Spectral Armor: Since we are technically switching to an ethereal form, why not add the distortion effect?
Spectral Grasp: Should be unblockable since it attacks from another plane of existence.
Spectral Walk: Similar to Spectral Armor, or add Protection buff if distortion is too much.
Spectral Wall: Not sure what to do with this one, has seen improvement over the years so I think it works.
Lich Form: comparing this to Rampage and I’m not impressed. If they added a 25% damage reduction just like Rampage is (we are in an ethereal form after all) and change stability to resistance, it could help overall.
I’ve always loved the theme of spectral skills, but I feel it’s just not there yet. Please give me your thoughts on this if some of these ideas could work.
I still use Consume Conditions. I lose a condition whenever I go into Death Shroud anyway. Heal, pop DS, go on with my life.
Maybe you could Consume Conditions so you can put yourself in combat and drop one? ;-D
Sir, I like where your head is at.
Necromancers: the MacGyver of all the professions. All the garbage in the world and we still make it work.
Really good concept…except it is too specific to one class.
Seems like we have that already for most of the legendary weapons now.
Honestly, with the introduction of The Reaper I can make my vampiric build work even better now. It will be a few tweaks here and there, but that’s just what I like about Necros: it’s not some pre-ordained build we HAVE to use and I can have fun making skills work for me. I honestly hate having anything to do with metas and the “press 1 to win” tactic. Out of all the professions in the game both in GW1 and GW2 I have enjoyed my Necromancer the most. So I tip my hat to you sir for this post.
Haha you read my mind!
