We don’t know, we haven’t been back to check
I’ll update the post on sunday when we do our next attempts
My guild [FREE] just killed the veil guardian.
http://imgur.com/Dqv57LS
Was really fun and tense. It took us around 12 hours of practice. But we managed at the end
We were using the follwing setup:
3 Heralds
1 Phanlanx warrior
1 Reaper
1 Druid healer
1 Condi ranger
1 Condi engi
1 burn Guardian
1 Chrono
Our chrono was tanking, worked really well for us.
We basicly the used the same tactic everyone else was, but a quick sum up:
4 people designated for circles, and we communicated if one of those couldn’t make it, to make sure someone else got it.
Rest just dps guardian, at the red pillar.
In the split phases we had 3 condis red, 1 tank green and everyone else blue. The tank pulled green to blue and we killed them both. This works out great aslong as no one gets teleported.
Also during 3rd and 5th phase. We tried to move the veil guardian early, even tho the floor was still lit. We did this to better control where the circles would spawn.
We are going to try the next boss later as we are all quite tired at the moment
Major bugs blocking progress in hearts and minds:
1. The cannach fight:
I was doing the fight alright and when i made the last part where cannach drops his shield he didn’t drop it. The boss was invulnerable and i could not kill it. I tried to restart, but he was still invulnerable.
2. Modremoth fight.
i died during the last stage of the fight, and when i restarted modremoth had all his abiliitys from the end of the fight, and he was just impossible to beat!
I have now had to restart 4 times trough the entire instance, 2 of them where bugs. Please fix them
They will get to it eventually, thief and warrior has less information than engineer? Atleast you have some kind of idea of what you are getting from the trailer. So have patience
I normally go 20-30 minutes early and then organize it myself. That’s the key.
And that is possible! Just only for some of the normal world events. You might even be able to do tequatl if you can have people join you.
But something like the Great jungle wurm takes a whole lot of communication, and requires timing, the same goes for some guild missions. You don’t just go on to a random map 30 minutes before the event and say: “Hey? Do you want to kill the great jungle wurm?” Quite simply because half of them don’t know what that event is, and the other half don’t know how to kill any of the wurms. There is no way you could organize an entire event yourself in such a short timeframe.
Of course you could organize a whole event the day before, with a guild or something. But for a casual player like me, that’s not an option. I rely on my guild, and other guilds to plan these events so that i can join in. I sometimes even join the teamspeak 2 hours ahead to make sure I don’t miss the jump. But still when the event starts I have to spam click join on the map, usually and lucky for me, because it’s bottlenecking, but sometimes because someone else was clicking faster than me.
About the district system, I had not thought of this idea myself. But I like it, I remember the districts from gw1 and they seemed to work great! So I’m all for that system. However I do believe that queue is still necessary whether you are joining maps or districts, for the same reasons I stated in my first post.
Hello everyone
My name is Lunar Skunk and i consider myself and average causal gamer, and I have an issue I would like to address.
Map joining is horrible during large coordinated world events. I have at least spent a few hours since mega servers came out spam clicking join, only to get a message saying the map is full every time. And then you could ask: Well if the map is full, why don’t you do something else? Well I would, but since it seems like people are getting in, even though the map is full, I keep trying.
But what I don’t understand, and why I think the map joining is horrible, is why do I have to constantly click join, in order to join in on the fun. I understand that every map has a limit on the number of people who can join, and I think that limit is fine. But why can’t we have a queue system when we are joining full maps? All WvW maps have them?
Sure I might still get mad if I don’t get in the map, but at least I can actually do something else while I wait for the queue? I wouldn’t mind running Bloodtide Coast, gathering and completing events, especially not when I knew that I might have a chance of joining the event. However I can’t, I have to sit for 20 minutes spamming a combination of “enter”, “move mouse” and “right mouse click” in order to join the fun. That’s horrible…
A queue would mean that people, who actually tried to join first, can join the maps first. That would be a much better and fairer system than “luckiest clicker” join first. But it would also mean that we could have a bit of fun and gain some XP while we wait for an empty spot.
Today i was trying to join the Great Junglewurm event, and I didn’t get in, just like 50 other people. All of us just trying for at least 10 minutes clicking join. Now I will go to Lions Arch, I will go craft some clovers while I feel sad about missing another Great Junglewurm event, because I was the unlucky clicker today.
I really do hope some kind of system can be implemented so that everyone can have fun while they hope for spot in the right map. Thank you very much for reading if you got this far, and I apologize for my English. It is not my first language.
PS.
I am really sorry if this is the wrong forum, but i didn’t know where to put this
The fight is not difficult it’s just long and irriatating. especially when you like me since Fort Trinity have redone every mission because of a stupid glitch in the quest that makes you unable to proceed or because you get a black screen because of another issue. I just beat the boss no problems at all didn’t even down. And now i have to do this kitten again even tho i beat him and got the cutscene. This quest is by far the worst so far game play wise. you jump over the torpedoes, and even you don’t it dosen’t matter that much because it won’t kill you. the traps on the ground just cripple you and knock you down which is a pain in the butt. But again they don’t do enough damage to really hurt you. the las attack that shoots a beam at you i haven’t figured how to avoid yet, since everytime i try to dodge it already hit (i just suck). but that didn’t kill me either. i literaly just spent 15 minutes hitting a boss without having a hard time.
Less HP, More skill Arenanet!
The best option i can think of is go for armour that gives toughness and vitality. That way you don’t need to change you traits and can keep that fire power for when you are going solo, but still be tanky. That’s what i do when i solo and i have no problems surviving a few enemies doing alot of damage to me. I would also recommend some survival skills like: endure pain, stun breakers and condition removers. of course that removes the signet
This next part is all about what i take in dungeons and why as a level 80 warrior. This is just what i think and other people will tell you different
However you might want to switch up your weapons in dungeons. Greatsword does a bunch of burst damage, but it’s not always that useful in 5 mans. Unless you are going very damage heavy. If you use a greatsword expect to be torn to peaces quickly by enemies.
Personaly i like to go shield/axe or axe/axe with sword/warhorn in my other set. The first depending on my role. I choose sword/warhorn because of the mobility it grants my team. sword allows me to move in and out of combat using the third ability that leaps to an enemy. Other than that the swords can stack a few bleed, and imobilize which can be quite useful. The warhorn gives a nice movement speed, and removes condition CC like cripple, imobilize and chill from your entire team. This is basicly your “Oh kitten” button
The other warhorn spell inflicts aoe weakness to enemys and grants vigor to allies. This allow you to deal extra damage to your enemies while being able to dodge more often.
My other set is the damage set and primary set. i would always go shield here if i have to be the first to engage the enemy. One of the spells allow you to block damage for 3 seconds. This can save your life combined with endure pain and a stun breaker and makes you unkillable for atleast 8 seconds which allow your team to get in position and start the killing. The shield also has a stun, that can save your butt from major attacks.
The axe or axes are just a very good combination of constant damage. To me the greatsword does alot of damage in a burst and then it has cooldowns. the axes do more constant damage and that’s why i chose them. You could take greatsword if you really want to be a burst machine.
Hope i helped a bit
