Outmanned buff needs to actually be useful. It should give you a ton of stats and extra damage/survival. Facing like 5x your numbers due to nightcapping is pointless; once people see it happening, they just log off and it snowballs even more out of control.

That is the obvouse thing to do but it would cause far more problems than it would fix. Imagine you go solo and meet up with another solo player, if you had a massive stack of buffs you would wipe the floor with them, not a good thing.

It would incourage the team with the most players to form larger groups which is what is not needed.

I dont think you can take this video and say “Mesmer OP”. There were lots of times when he over exerted himself and put him self in bad situation and the clip was cut “I assume a quick death followed”.

This video is just showing the iceing of what playing a mesmer is all about. I can tell you from experience the mesmer is a love/hate relationship.

I have played WvW on a few servers and although its totaly awsome I have run into some major problems that could be addressed to improve gameplay.

Zerg-Lag, Lag-Spikes and Lag-Lag.
From reading the GM posts about this issue and from personal experience it is “excepting issues outside the control of Anet” caused by the number of players in close proximity to one another. AKA the ZERG.

A possilble solution to this would be to implemt a condition that is applied to players if a zerg becomes too large to handle rather than limiting the total number players on a server. If alot of players zerg together to the point were it causes server lag, each player in the zerg receives a condition based on how many in the zerg that reduces their effectiveness. This would be tailored so that it becomes more effective to create two smaller zerg’s “or smaller more organized groups” rather than one large lag creating zerg.

Invisible enemies or enemy culling
From reading GM posts and from personal experience this is caused by a large amount of players in your vicinity. Your client will only render a certain number of characters so if a large group of new characters or a single new character gets close to you quickly it takes time for your client to render that players character on your screen. Untill it does that character is invisible to you but is still able to kill you.

The above lag solution might help reduce this problem but it will not eradicate it especially on slower computers with fragmented hard drives. One solution to this problem would be to use proxy characters. If the number of characters in a given area exceeds the number of characters the client can handle then simply display a 2 poly plane with a generic enemy mapped to it. Set the plane to always face camera and then only have the client send the characters X,Y,Z coordinates. If its also possible to have the characters name above like normal that would be a bonus. At the moment its next to impossible to see what I am shooting at with my catapult as players disapear 10 meters away from it.

“You are Outnumbered” or “you killed everything and then salted the earth”
This is caused by one server being far better than the other two, to the piont were you either cant leave the starting location because the other side of the gate is camped. Or you have no one to fight or nothing to do because no enemy players want to log in to WvW and die repeatedly

One idea to reduce this problem “other than better server matching or forcibly redistributing players across all the servers” is to implement a temporary alliance between the two losing sides when one side becomes too dominant. This would not just allow weaker servers to compete but it would also be a challenge for stronger servers who would otherwise just wipe the floor and then get board.

Additionally you could implement a logistics multiplier on walls and gates so that if one server ownes all the pionts “this is often the case when a server mismatch occurs” their walls and gates are weaker. But if a server only owns a single keep its walls, gates and vets are stronger and more effective.

Just some ideas I wanted to share.

What is even more annoying is when you are in a dungeon with some randoms and they spam chat with:

Dont Rez the mesmer they are bugged!

Every time you get downed and someone tries to rez you even if it is the real you.
Just incase anyone was wondering, if the rez symbol is blue its a player, if its grey its an NPC or clone. But its not that easy to tell and even harder if you are in a blob.

The first crafting set (embroidered) has pants.

Talk about selective quoting! the next line puts it into context.

The harem legging that you mention have a drapped piece on fabic like a skirt that covers the bum and thighs, they are not pants.

I agree, the light armour sets lack a single pants option. Every one covers the legs and bum with some robe or drape. In Guild Wars 1 the mesmer females wore alot of pant suits and trousers almost like jesters, which is what I kind of think mesmers are.

I ended up buying the Eye of the North and doing the first 6 pionts Of HoM so I could get an armour that I thought actually worked well on a Nobel Female Mesmer Human.

Now I am looking for a mask and I was wondering if there was actualy a Butterfly mask in the game like the one that is used as the symbol for the mesmer.

Is Anet just trolling with that symbol or is there actualy a butterfly mask somewere in the game. I really need it to complete my Nobel Mesmer look.

Also all you common folk in your skimpy rags. Dignity, grace and elegance are the Mesmers weapons of ruse dont neglect them.

The simplest solution would be to just charge $10 USD.

OK I cant login to cheack as the BLTP is down but reading the patch notes that does seem to have been implented, as it was being exploted by some to manipulate the market by creating a false value for an item.

I have done and do sell for below vendor so I have no idea what is going on. I will look into this when the BLTP is up again.

Also I dont even understand not being able to walk to a vendor. There has never ever been a time that I looked at my minimap and not saw some icon of a person I can sell to.

In the 75-80 lvl areas you can loose controle of most of the map and all the vendors are killed or fighting so you cant sell to them. You can only use a waypiont or vendor that you control.

You are right, I “could” click lowest seller and hope that no one undercuts me and that someone WANTS the item I am selling

Or I could list it 10% below the vendor price and be GUARANTEED to sell the item, regardless of weather someone wants it or not.

Being the lowest seller only works if someone wants the item becuse thier is no other reason to buy an item that costs above the vendor price. But if I list it below the vendor price anyone who is watching the markets could buy it and sell it to the vendor for a profit.

The whole piont is i cant “move my fatass” to the BLTP!

Also its not about getting the money fast, its about clearing my inventory of junk fast while still getting my money.

You are right I could list the things at the BLTP and then remove them later and sell to the vendor but that would cost me the listing fee’s. I dont want to bother about that. I want to hit sell “Bam Sold”, problem solved. I will collect my money next time I am in town.

I also forgot to put in the original post that I will harvest mats from nodes in the hopes of getting goddies like dye and shinies even if i dont want the mats.

If I list some junk item for 10% above the vendor price I might not sell it, so at a later date I might have to deal with that item. If I sell at below the vendor price it is garenteed to sell, so I know i will never have to deal with it again. “Bam sold”

This is a question that I have seen many pepole ask and I asked myself for a while.

Up untill recently I always wondered why some stuff on the BLTP sold for less than the vendor price. I always thought that it was speculative players placing buy orders in the hopes of catching someone unaware.

Now that I have reached lvl 80 and I am getting used to the game I know why:

The BLTP can be accessed any were and items can be sold from any were. Vendors can only be used if you are in the vicinity of a vendor.

I am regularly in a posistion were im about 10 minutes walk away from the nearest vendor with the army of zietan between us. I could use the waypiont system but that will cost me about 3s there and back and we probably dont control the right waypionts anyway.

Or I am in WvW desperatly trying to hold the keep against a 3 to 1 attacking force of angry french people.

In both these situations selling stuff on the BLTP for less than the vendor price makes perfect sense. I might have a bag full of blue rubbish items that I cant salvage becuse the collectables tab only holds 250 of each item and its already full of all the common crafting mats after a few hours. So unless I want to start a new 250 stack in my inventory I have to sell, selling the item will also produce more money. If i have 50 free slots in my inventory full of blue rubbish selling at 1s each thats 50 silver so I dont want to salvage that anyways.

So I right click sell on the BLTP and if I can get anything for it “Bam its sold”. I dont care about getting a good price, the quicker I can sell for the better. As I am still better off selling for a loss than I am traveling to a vendor.

This also includes Mats, mats drop in the form of “bags of goodies” or “chunks of metal”. I will salvage this and this is why my 250 collectables tab will fill up quick, the reason I salvage these instead of selling is that they have a high chance of dropping good stuff that I want. So after a few hours I might have a small stack of mats that I dont need filling up my inventory, I open up the BLTP and “Bam sold”.

I know this might not be great for players trying to make a good return on these items but for me I see it a diffrent way. I am selling for less than the vendor price for the convenience of being able to sell when and were I want. someone buying that item through the BLTP and selling it to a vendor is making a small profit but it also being rewarded for enabling me to keep fighting.

Its a win, win, win situation.

In life their are two types of hard:

Fun Hard = Trying to cook for a 10+ diner party without burning the Souffle.
Hard Hard = Trying to feed a 5+ family on a £3.50 budget.

Fun Hard = Climbing to the top of mount everest.
Hard Hard = Walking 10 miles to collect fresh water and carrying it 10 miles home.

Fun Hard = Competing in a paintball competition.
Hard Hard = Competing in the Hunger games, when your 12.

When it comes to dungeons, story missions and gameplay in general I think that the Devs of Guild Wars 2 have gotten the two mixed up.

When players ask for the dungeons to be “Hard” they are asking for them to be “Fun Hard” not “Hard Hard”. Although I would agree that the devs have done a good job of making the dungeons hard they are definitely not fun.

I play a light armour class and as you all know we cant take more than two or three hits before we spam chat for a rez. Its just not fun to be a died character or to be constantly avoiding damage, especially when you are often unable to avoid the damage.

It does not matter how well I play or how well I build and spec my character, I am going to die and die again. There is no middle ground, thier needs to be some tolerance of error in dungeons so that a character can play on and correct thier mistakes rather than just “Bam Your Died”.

The dungeons need to be “Hard” but they need to be “Fun Hard” not “Hard Hard”.

It was worth a shot, but we just lacked the numbers. It might be worth trying to orginize another attempt but not tonight. And it might well be fixed by then, fingers crossed.

How about we all pick a server/time and force overflow? I really don’t see any other way to do this, I mean it’s not like it’s getting fixed anytime soon. We aren’t even being acknowledged here.

That is a really good idea, forceing an overflow server to be created should resolve this problem “for at least everyone who gets involved”.

I say we all do it at GMT 20:00, thats 9:00pm in england, 10:00pm in the france and 1pm in some of the US.

On the “Fissure of Woe” server as it is low population and peeps will be able to transfear to it.

Unless someone else has a better plan?

I have seen what causes the spectral gaurdian skill piont NPC’s to bug out.

It is caused by them dieing on an edge or uneven terrian “that is why the Bayt one is the worst, he is very likely to die on the edge of the raised platform” When he dies there he returns to the same spot only lower. After a few times of this happening he is underground and can not be spoken too.

Another intresting thing is that the mesmer has a skill that can show you were the NPC is. If you use the area clock skill to cloack all frendlies when you de-cloack a puff of smoke appears at the feet of all who were cloacked, if you are near the NPC and cloack him you will see that same puff of smoke around the feet of were the gaurdian should be.

Also incase you guys are wondering, he is a spectral bow gaurdian.

Monthly Survivor Achievement Bugged

You guys need to man up.

Go to WvWvW and play the game untill you get 100,000 Xp thats what I did, it was so much fun. I was so nervous and all my adrenaline was going every time I spotted the enemy.

It really did make it feel like I would loose something if I died, especaly when I was on 98,998 Xp and being chased buy an enemy zerg.

It made me think that WvWvW needs some sort of surviver bonus so that if you dont die you get more rewards, making the cost of death greater without simply costing you more.
