Pfft. The only way you can make Death Wish better is with 4 skulls. It just screams necromancer.
I present to you…Deathwish.
The only staff I know that is worthy of a disciple of grenth
1: Yes Magic find stacks with buffs, and armor
2: Chocolate Omnomberry Cream @ 40% Magic find. You could also use the Omnomberry Bar which gives 30% Magic Find+50% extra money from drops, which seems to be the most popular.
Ok heres the video.

I simply logged in, and started attacking the first thing in range. If you want video of me doing damage to some specific just give me a target. But I tried to keep the video as base as possible. You will see me do different things to gets stacks of conditions, as its part of my normal rotation. A good deal of the time though I will not do anything but just use auto attack
I have a disclaimer to place though. You will see me backpeddaling. This video is in no way supposed to be a display of skill, just numbers.
Notes
I never quite break the 1k mark on the first two attacks, that is probably because I didnt factor in my food buffs(not present in the video), and I changed out the rune on the scepter to give chance for a lightning strike upon hit(something I did last nite to test). I also made it a point not to use the Life Bolts stacks of might(which Im specced into) I thought going into death shroud would taint the validity of the demonstration. The finisher, and third attack will hit for 1.3 k on atleast 2 occasions and I come close another couple of times.
Also I will never hit for those numbers without the additional damage I get for applied conditions, and the 20% for enemy below 50% health damage bonus. So to say I hit for that kind of damage from the get go is not accurate, I have to build up to get it.
But here are my stats.
Scepter Base Damage: 895-1010(Orange)
Attack: 3134
Crit Chance: 49%
Crit Damage: 77%
Power:2238
Scepter is just there for the conditions, and life force generation. It does some decent damage, but compared to what I manage to do in DS its nothing.
Daggers and staff deff do more damage, but daggers are melee, and seem to not generate Life force quick enough.
Ill try to post a video. Keep in mind I also have a build that entirely dedicated to increasing the damage to these types of attacks.
All of my gear is Power, Crit, +Crit damage….all of it.
(edited by Macros.8715)
Scepter Damage does scale with power, and the high end-lowend damage levels that each weapon has associated with it. The numbers do scale very well while your leveling, if your just focusing on the scepter itself.
If you want to see dramatic changes in the damage you will want to focus many pieces of gear towards what you want to increase. Which in your case would be power, and crit damage(for bigger numbers)
I currently run a power build and get crits on the three scepter attack of 1.1k 1.1k and 1.3k
i am level 80 with full yellows though

This quote just seems to fit into this thread. I mean, of all the things to pick on, this is what bothers you the most.
“Sometimes the most remarkable things seem commonplace. I mean when you think about it jet travel is pretty freaking remarkable. You get in a plane it defies the gravity of a entire planet by exploiting a loophole with air pressure and it flies across distances that would take months or years to cross by any means of travel that has been significant for more than a century or three. You hurtle above the earth at enough speed to kill you instantly should you bump into something and you can only breathe because someone built you a really good tin can that seems tight enough to hold in a decent amount of air. Hundreds of millions of man-hours of work and struggle and research blood sweat tears and lives have gone into the history of air travel and it has totally revolutionized the face of our planet and societies.
But get on any flight in the country and I absolutely promise you that you will find someone who in the face of all that incredible achievement will be willing to complain about the drinks.”

I have been running around with my Necro for the past couple days at 80, and I decided to try something completely backwards.
Stacking Power+Precision+Crit Damage Gear, for this build, and it uses scepter and focus for life force gain, and staff for quick burst damage+fear
I also know that the hounds of balthazaar have a stupidly long cooldown, but they just do such kickkitten burst damage, and quite frankly I dont like ANY of the other elite skills. None.
At first i just tried out to see how bad it panned out, but since I have tried it, I love it. Scepter damage seems to scale well with the power, and crit damage increaser, and they seem to provide a lot of life force enabling me to keep a lot of stacks of might up.
Life bolt also hits like a truck at max damage, and considerign its an auto attack I can usually finish people off with a quickness.
But let me know if there are any minor changes you think I should make. i
I also dont expect many people to like it as its pretty much backwards as far as builds go.

A red post saying smth to the extent of " Guys , we know , we are figuring it out " will evaporate most of WTF posts.
I use to think the same thing. However after looking at 3 previous MMO forums. When ever the developers take the time to respond to posts three things usually happen.
1: Everyone and there brother hijack the post and start to create a self sustaining crap storm of “what they dont like”.
2: The community keys in to the idea that the devs read and pay attention to forums, and take all complaints seriously. Thereby resulting in everyone who ever had a “bad experience” to post a topic about it and they usually blow it too extreme measures.
3: The player base is so disgruntled that they just rant about how much they want the developers to be fired, or have some other stupidly cruel and undeserved punishment for ruining there class.
This is just my opinion though. Keep in mind I am coming from the wild wild forums of SWTOR, which in my opinion is about as acidic as it gets for forum communities.
I don’t disagree with people who post these topics. There are not many other avenues to express your dissatisfaction with a game experience, and I tend to believe that a dev will (if they even try) look at the topic, and the first post. Creating swaths of " i hate >blah<" topics is just an evil we have to live with.
