Hmm, that’s weird. I never experienced this before so I went in-game to check it. It works fine for me whether I’m facing the enemy or not.
Where did you test it?
I tried it in EB on some Moas and Sheep. No serpent has appeared while moving away and casting infront or behind me.My bad. I initially tested this while I was standing still but facing opposite the group of golems in HotM. I went back in-game and tried running forward while pressing the “Look Behind” button and casted the skill. You were right, it did not summon any serpent. This should be a bug that the devs need to look into. The skill is already weak in itself.
while using look behind button you cant activate any groundtargeted skills, has been like that for about 2 years now i think
Works for Ele’s Phoenix and Shatterstone though

Lol, you are right, but the small yellow orb is so easy to miss… Its almost invisible, need better visual clue its there.
Exactly. With so many visual clutter out there, it’s basically pointless to pick this skill when there are better skills out there with on demand utility.

I’m not one to theorycraft any builds but I’d like to know, given the Ambush skills for Sword and Greatsword, does Power Mirage have a potential?
I’m also trying to craft the Mechanical Orchestra for our guild hall and I’m down to that one last item for the collection. So far I’ve been religiously doing 3 Adventures (Salvage Pit, Flying Circus and Bugs in the Branches) everyday for 3 days now, only because I know them so well. I know three days is not much but still, this takes way too long for a collection. It’s worst than the time-gated ones :/
