Guild Wars 2

I have been a regular player since beta but for the first time I’m seeing this message:
“The server was unable to authenticate your gameplay privileges. Please contact customer support to provide them with your registered e-mail address.”
Error Code is 21:6:3:22:12

So, of course I repair guild wars 2 (copied shortcut and added – repair) and restarted. I’ve gotten other error codes as well, but that message and error 21 persist. I cannot log in, or when I do I get booted almost immediately.

Other codes are:
5:11:3:159:101
19:9:18:1597:101

I have a static IP. I’ve reset my password, I’ve cleared and re-authenticated my listed ISPs via e-mail authentication. This is an issue with all characters (not a .dat issue) and I have changed nothing in my rig or connection. All drivers are up to date.

Guild Wars 1 (original) I am able to log in on existing toons and play, but not make new ones. I did eventually get kicked off GW1 with an error of 64:25:39:106:6112.

I have submitted a request ticket and will post the solution as soon as I have it.
If anyone has insights in the meantime, please do share.

Been a while since I updated from this issue but here’s the deal:

Within the past month I and my partner (who also plays GW2, and other games) started getting this error and getting huge lag spikes and/or booted off the game.

We tried all sorts of client-end stuff to fix the issue, including a new modem. Nothing helped. You can see a log of all the stuff we experienced and tried here in this thread.

At first, no other games or video streaming were affected. Less than a week after the issues initially started we began having whole-house issues with the net. Uploading, downloading, our phones,…. nothing worked.

Someone came out and fixed a busted wire going to the house. The issues with internet resolved, EXCEPT the issues with GW2.

Ever since the July 23rd update and patches, there have been no issues with the game. Neither of us has experienced any lag (other than expected, like during Jormag, for example) and the game runs perfectly.

In our case, it was both; it seems. Some user end issues and the rest was up to Anet.

Good question. It’s not effective in the above case because the pet dies or must be switched to the other pet during combat. Guarding does not carry over if the pet is switched, it seems. Once the pet has been changed or dies, it wanders and the damage taken by the pet is transferred to the ranger.

In the above example of AC, for instance, I have to set my pet to guard an area far away and out of combat from where we are fighting the Spider Queen. This works fine, overall, but I am hoping someone out there who has played a ranger in dungeons for a while has discovered a way to be able to USE the pets instead of just keeping them out of the way.

My ISP found issues outside of the house and fixed them. The lag and disconnect issues persist in GW2, and only in GW2, even after replacing outdoor wiring and modem.

Disconnects remain isolated to GW2, reporting error 7:11:3:191:101
Pingtests result in approximately 0-10% packet loss, 19-54 ping, and 1-101 jitter.

I have no idea what to try next. I’ll keep everyone posted once I try something.

There are certain areas in dungeons and fractals which nearly require the use of “stacking” the party in one spot to maximize the group efficacy.

My issue is, how on earth do you force your pet to stack in these situations?

One notable area where this mechanic can be useful, for example, is the Spider Queen boss in AC.

I am aware of the “Guard” skill which stealths the pet and binds it to an area, but that isn’t effective in the above example.

I’ve posted in another forum about this as well but I’ve just bugged my ISP about this and they came out and rewired pretty much the whole outside of the house.

We’ll see if that fixes anything with GW2.

I, and another player in my house who uses a different computer, have been having awful lag spikes and disconnects for the past 4 days. Ever since we both downloaded the previous patch, on a note of interest. For 3 days there were no issues with anything other than GW2 disconnecting. We were both still connected to the internet, able to steam movies on netflix while the game continually disconnected. One computer even went full crash.

So, we’ll see if giving the whole house an overhaul fixes the GW2 issue or not. I’ll keep you updated.

Update:

Disconnects have happened throughout the whole house now (cable, phone, general internet use) and resetting the modem/router has no improvement so we had someone from the provider come and check everything outside as well.

Findings: the cables connecting the line to the house were loose and one was damaged. Those have been replaced and fixed.

First Test: so far, no disconnections BUT I will post again after a couple days of testing GW.

Temporary Conclusion: our issue was the cable connection to the house, even though the disconnects only appeared to happen while playing GW2.

Yes. No change in lag or disconnect frequency.
Also tried it while running two users on GW2, and streaming a movie, and no change either.

It behaved in exactly the same manner, regardless.

Here’s the rundown:
*Lag spikes occur every 1-3 minutes and last anywhere from 10-25 seconds.
*Lag spikes often (over 75% of the time) result in disconnect.
*If BOTH of us are playing at the same time, lag and disconnects coincide with each other almost 100% of the time even though our settings in game and for hardware are totally different.
*Immediate reconnection is possible every time.
*Disconnect code is 7:11:3:191:101
*Resetting the router does nothing to help, nor does playing under less stressful times of day or at decreased settings. (for instance, my fps runs about 112+ usually and has not dropped at all even during lag)
*Uploading, streaming video, and all other internet use is unchanged and works perfectly at all times.
*We are located in the Northern USA and use cable internet. This has not changed since the incept of Guild Wars 2 and this has never been an issue. Using wireless or a direct link doesn’t change the disconnects and lag.
*There is no difference in lag spikes or disconnect frequency depending on time of day, or how many people are using the network in our household.
