Mirage seems like it’s going to be the superior condi build in PvE.
How?
I tried to find a good condition build for the Mirage, but when i thought i found a good build, i just swaped Mirage for Chronomancer and dealt more damage while having more movement speed and better survival.
It’s the only spec that can redirect phantasms.
That is right, but you have to sacrifice a weapon slot for the axe (which isn’t good since it’s very clunky and does less damage than the scepter) or a utility slot for the ability with a 30 seconds cooldown.
Some ambush skills force you to stand still. You have to stop moving and hit the 1 button if you were moving the moment were you pressed the dodge button.
The ambush skill is cast automatically if you didn’t move.
The good thing about Mirage: I don’t have to gather hero points for it because it is worse than Chronomancer and core Mesmer in PvE in every aspect…
Even with ambush skills “on cooldown” (using every dodge for DPS instead of actually dodging) a phantasm deals more damage than a clone. And Mirage has zero support for phantasms (a Chronomancer can shatter quite often without losing DPS because phantasms can be resummoned once when used for shatter skills).
I am very disappointed.
Still bugged for me. Need to train the Itzel poison mastery before I can continue.
I have a similar problem with mission 2. I had to learn how to glide before i could continue with the story. However, i activated a chapter of season 2, played that and went looking for Hero Points afterwards. Just got enough experience to master gliding while doing that, so i switched back to the HoT Story… but the mission is still telling me to learn how to glide and i don’t know how to progress now… :/
I understand why the community was crying about the difficulty
The biggest issue for people like me was: I wanted to play the new content, the new story, the new maps. but i wanted to do that with the new possibilities of my class, testing out different builds while progressing. That actually lead to me ignoring most of the new content (events, dialogues with NPCs) and getting the story spoiled by some random NPCs while just searching for Hero Point challenges to finally enjoying the game. In addition, some grinding was required to get enough experience for the masteries i needed to get the Hero Points.
That was dull and boring and not difficult at all. Just time consuming.
Yes, some Hero Point challenges are difficult – but you just have to wait until more players arrived.
Now i can finally explore the new world, the new NPCs, the Lore, look for details and take the time i need without having the feeling that my character is “incomplete” in some way… in other words, i can finally enjoy the game.
- I think it was 06/31/15, but i can’t remember the exact time.
- Malchir.4798
- Drakkar Lake [DE]
- Wayfarer Foothills, Shamans Rookery
- I was doing the last jump of the jumping puzzle – the one to the plattform where the door and chest are located. When i landed, i died.
- no GIF or Screenshot, sorry.
- It was like a rock falling on me – at least it seemed so (didn’t saw an actual rock, just the shockwave). At first i thought i just missed something and the death was part of the puzzle (like a punishment for “cheating” because i just went past any NPC who wanted to fight me, ignoring everybody).
- Every NPC disappeared right before the death. They disappeared again when i tried it a second time, but because i thought i have to beat them in order to complete the puzzle, i reloaded the map (went to character screen and back into the game). The NPCs were back and i didn’t suffer an other unexpected death.
