I soloQ and only made it to Ruby. I did however start playing ranked pretty late because of work.
Ruby was a nightmare. I cant even remember how many games i played in that division but most of the game went as following:
- 1 close, 1 rush far, 3 rush mid. Mid wipes and then far gets backup and its bascially gg from there.
- In another scenario team start rushing mid. Gets a cap and then leaves. Oppoenent team easily takes it back with only 1 person defending it and from here, the game is over.

I like the league system overall. SoloQ is tough and i accept that. I do however find it kittened, that youre able to change class in “pre-game”. Im with 4 randoms which as default isnt easy but on top of that, the opposit team, often premades or semi-premades gets to reroll classes to counter even further. I play Necro so alot of my games was against 2 Diamond Eles. Was just a waste of time tbh. If i could change only one thing i ranked pvp, that would be it.

Anyways, looking forward to next league

Lots of good ideas so i`ll just leave a couple of thoughts..

If Anet wants diversity, why not focus on the different ways necros are used. Make more traits that boosts spectral, fear, coruption, chill and poison skills. We already got terrormancer – we need corupter-mancer (bad name, i know), spectral-mancer and stuff like this.
For example
“x-trait” "Axe removes boons on AA. I know it probably would be abit over the top, but stuff like this would really be a great addition to weapon, traitlines and utilities that never see the sunlight.

- Make staff AA apply condis. Or make a trait that would change it for a more condi AA and make sure it still generates LF. I feel like necros biggest issue is to apply condis fast enough to actually make a difference. Especially if you dont run Corupt Boon.

- Lingering curse seems nice, but 100% condi-duration doesnt really matter when all is cleansed after a couple of seconds. Besides, against mesmer it would probably be too harsh. I think the trait should focus more on condition damage.

- Make terror baseline as already mentioned. I feel like “fear” belongs to Necro

- Make scepter generate LF on AA

Now, im not sure the idea of making a “power GM-trait” in Curses is a good idea. It would make every powerbuild go 6/6/0/0/6 and that doesnt really promote “diveristy”. It is however bad not knowing where to put the last 6 points cause nothing really seem appropriate. Good luck with that

First of all, i want to talk about “diversity”. If Anets definition of diversity is “Nobody is stopping you from playing rifle warrior or minion-mancer”, then gw2 has plenty of diversity. If the definition is “lots of viable build at turnament lvl”, then Anet has failed.

I have played 4 MMOs in the past 10 years and let me tell you. Youll NEVER get the desired diversity.
- In counterstrike, only x-amount of weapons are used in tournaments.
- If there wasnt a “ban mechanic” (or whatever its called) in games such as Dota2, teams would only use a certain amount of Heros.
- In Eve-online a huge amount of spaceships are available, but only some are used for more organized fleetbattles.

Its no different here. Although i really like the new trait-system-overhaul, i find it completely redundant. Several month after launch, youll see the same classes with only 1-2 “viable” builds. So basically its a waste of time. Anet would have been better of just balancing the existing system and do it waaaay more often – keep it up to date.

Now, as for the necro changes…

I agree with Forsaker. Its just uninspiring and really didnt do anything good for condi necros. Although there is some good things and minor buffs, it just wont be enough to get condi necro in the right spot – and im not talking about OP-spot

I was hoping for a serious condi boost. Screw stability, Block and the like. Its not the Necro-way and every class doesnt have to be same. However, when we are not getting ping-ponged and actually are on our feet, I expect us to really hurt opponents.
We are terrible at applying condis and with the amount of condi cleanse its just a wast of time tbh.
Although i do know the idea of “dots”, an encounter yesterday made we wonder. My scepter1 vs a warrior with 4k AA hits. I cant block his damage and he can cleanse mine which btw, doesnt really hurt him…

These changes do absolutly nothing to help us put condi pressure on targets. I bet youll only see power-necro in tournaments from now on – so much for diversity.

Now, with that being said, we still need to see the final traits, numbers, skill-adjustments and the like. So far it doesnt look good, but i wont write my beloved condi necro off just yet..

Just wanted to check..

CS+Rune of the Mesmer only shows 1-1/4 sec on daze ingame. In my builder however, it shows 1-3/4 as it should. Is it just me or am i missing something ?

Hi

Its hard to tell whether people are still testing or not. As for me personally, i dont use it because of 2 reasons.

1.
I dont want an ability that forces me into DS. You get stunned and use DS, using the LF you have saved. Then you`ll take massive damage and youre pretty much screwed – no LF and even if you had, its on CD.
In that case, i would rather use an utility stunbreaker and save the DS for a situation I see fit and not my opponent.
2.
When i go 6 into Soul Reaping, i would rather choose Soul Marks as the 3. trait. I feel it gives me additional tank which is needed, especially as condi. More LF = more fear/Dark path/torment and as it is right now, i think necro needs to capitalize as much as possible on condi damage. Which is also why i always go 6 into Curses. With all the condi-cleanse, i feel i need to do as much damage as possible when i finally get some condi stacked.

With that being said, i never used more than one stunbreaker before. I know “meta” is FW/SW, but ive done pretty well with only one, mostly FW. I find most situations to be either sure death or manageable. A 2. stunbreak wouldnt have saved me and i would rather try not to end in those situation (although sometimes impossible) and instead slot condi damage utilitis such as Signet of Spite, WoC and such.

I doubt the new FitG is new meta, but i really dont know. I should however mention, that im only talking from a spvp point of view and not WvW, where i have 0 experience.

“I feel forced to play power”

I feel exactly the same way. When i started playing gw2 i asked people about “whats the best dot class”, cause ive always loved dots. Everybody agreed about Necro so without further ado i rolled Necro.
I only play unranked with a couple of friends, but im having a hard time killing stuff with conditions. Its hard to stack them quickly and once its done they get cleansed and my stuff is on cooldown. Sure the scepter stacks decent, but when you get hit for several thousand damage its hard to keep up. Thats ofcourse when im not getting ping-ponged
Im my Terror-build i do have a decent amount of CC and i help my team, but i feel that people simply ignore my damage or lack of it.
So for now, i switched back to a powerbuild and yes, im having tons of fun playing it. Although it might be sort of a one-trick-pony build, i really feel i contribute alot more to the team, than by throwing around a couple of condis. After all, i still got acces to 2x Fear (staff/DS) so its not that im only DPSing.
Im trying to farm for ascended amor and Im still planing on a condi build (rapid/dire), i do however hope, that we get a condi boost of some sort. Ive played around 1500 matches so im not “all that” and therefor its hard to say whats needed to get me back into my beloved condi build

1) Reduce casting time on Heal (and CD on WoD)
2) Give stability in DS
3) Some kind of condition boost. Maybe an Anti Condition cleanse- thing.

Greetings Necros

Been testing some setups and im pretty sure that “Spectral Attunement” doesnt grant “longer duration” as it states in description.
Im using it with “Spectral Walk” and “Spectral Wall” and i see no change at all. Its still 30 sec for Walk and 5 sec for wall.
I may have overlooked something, so pretty much trying to dobbelt check with you people.

(Btw, ive read the “bug Compilation” but im still not sure, especielly with Wall)
