I dont think that im going to play HoT. Anyway, I’ve tested with a friend some possible builds and this is what I would recommend you to play.

This build focuses around hammer. The riflebuild will still be viable in HoT. no changes needed there.

Note that Elexir U is viable here. I’ve put it into the build for more burst and as your only stunbreaker.

Who can beat 37000 dmg taken by burning?

I love how some people say: If it deals high damage just dodge it. l2p and everything.
Some of you proplayers may havn’t noticed yet that “skilled”(pffffffffffffffffff) engineers use the granedes from out of stealth. You cant dodge it because the engineer will pull you and throw that stuff right into your face and you are done before you even noticed what happend.

what about the 50% increased duration trait that is now gone, too? is this now baseline or removed? otherwise SW would suck hard

yes, you should get as many stacks as possible before you start to roam. But I don’t have any stacks in the most time because of two reasons.
1. I hate zerging and because of this I dont have the second wvw buff(I’m such a lowrank Q.Q)
2. I’m just way too lazy to kill 25 mobs or zerg 5 players down for my 25 stacks of bloodlust^^ I care more about fast pvp action than I care about some buffs. The only thing that really matters at the end is your gameplay.

The guardian is a meeleclass and it is always hard to catch up to enemies that are ranged or just dont want to fight you in meelerange. For situations like this the guardian has his scepter and some other few skills on meeleweapons.

The scepter has the biggest problem with this. You can’t really hit targets that are moving around you or moving away from you. You have to deal with the same problem with your greatswordskill “binding blades”. I think that the autoattack of scepters ,ray of judgment and binding blades needs faster projectiles because theses are your skills for enemies that are not in close range but they are just not reliable enough.

I also think that smite needs some changes. In the most cases enemies just run through it without getting even one hit. The special effect of this skill is not that the single hits deal a lot of dmg but the skill itself should hit the target often.

The ranged skills needs faster projectiles. Just a little that it is still possible to evade them.

What do you guys think?

WvW has way more potential than is used.

When you want to zerg than I have no problem with that as long as you have fun you can do that. The Map was made for large fights in theses fortress and it’s up to me if I join you or let it be.

But many players just don’t want to join this and they can do their own thing on the WvW maps but until now it just doesn’t feels like that Anet wanted it to be a real part of the game.

Like I said, I have no problem with zerging but all of you have forgotten the difference between zerging and raiding!

It is way better to play with 3 meditations. Of curse you need the rune of Lyssa, too.
This is your stabilityskill if you really need one but way more important than any buff are the two ful cleans and the heal you can have with this. You have enough stunbreakers to fight every stun- or fearcannon. Hammer is just not a good choice at all as a guardian. The hammer is too slow. Scepter + focus is even in a teamfight a way better choice than any meele weapon because you can’t just jump into the fight. You start on range weaken some players and force them to use their dodge roll and cooldown. You pick out a player and than you burst him with your gs. Other guys take in the most cases AoE damage, too.
You need the scepter because you can’t just be infight the whole time as a dpsguard.
And you see maybe in my video that I always start on range first and that my scepter and focusskills all have an AoE ability.
I play the same build in Tournament, too and it works.
But in the end it’s up to you.

Reading your posts makes me sad. I don’t complain about getting zerged and I understand that WvW is about conquest, too. But not only?
I like that I can use my own gear in wvw and that the maps are huge and I’m free to go to where ever I want to and the worldexpirience-system.

Is there anything bad at making WvW more attraktive for these players?

It’s just not that easy and nothing that I could fix alone.
I’m duelling as often as possible but random pvp is just more fun. I can understand that you play mmos to play with people but other do pvp to play against other players with maybe a friend or just alone. This is not just complaining. I really want a change because I like this game.

I dont want to hide behind a big house at the end of the map just to have a single 1v1.

Just to understand my point:

I tried WvW many times and I always left it after some days or just some minutes because nothing really changed. Today was one of these days. After weeks of spvp I gave WvW a try. Tried to have some decent fights buuuuut nope

I’m a little annoyed of getting zerged or having laggs but I really want to have a better expirience because this game makes many other things just way better than other games.

I saw the ESO pvp trailer and the only thing they showed was zerg vs zerg but I still hope for better pvp. At least I will give it a try.

I hope you don’t wonder why so many players left the game not even a month after release. That the endgame of GW isn’t really there is another discussion but there are some more reason that at most the hardcore pvper left your game.
I startet GW2 with many of my pvp friends from other games and we were all hyped from this game at most because of the great gameplay and other stuff that made pvp really great. I’m the last one from all these guys that is still playing your game and I can tell you why all my friends left, because they told me.
They were all great pvpers but they left because they dindn’t feel supportet by you.
There is still no reason to solo roam in this game even not as a mesmer or a thief.
And I have the feeling that the biggest part of the community likes zerging and isn’t interessted in having some good fights. But that is just because they don’t know that great feeling you can have while having a exciting fight against another player and the feeling of winning is even better.
But you don’t give these players any reason to discover this feeling beacuse you don’t support something like this. And in some parts I really can understand them… When you make WvW in a zerg than you can make around 4 or 5 levels per hour and many gold and loot without any effort but when you roam solo you can only make 2 or 3 levelups a day but of curse not by killing players. As a solo roamer you can make the most expirience just by capturing some camps or killing dolyaks.

I don’t really see that you are about to bring some changes and I saw your new WvW map. The first thing that I saw after one player left his keep was a zerg running over the map and I really had some hope in this new map.

I just wish that you would care a bit more for that what makes the single player fun.

Any solutions?

I use Overwolf to record (you can get it by teamspeak) and windows moviemaker to cut and DivX converter for rendering.

I’m still looking for a party where i can be a premate member for tournament. I had some great fight scenes in tournament like 3v1 and i won but didn’t record.

I’m might going to join Zodins party for some tournaments next weeks, we will see.
