Guild Wars 2

Hey, so long story short. I’m an inexperienced returned player who loves the idea of thief and PvP so naturally my first character returning was a thief for PvP purposes (upon returning I deleted my characters to switch servers). Well 8 days later I’m level 80 from WvW. On the 10th day I spent 40-ish gold to get the best exotic gear for the build I’m following. Now on the 13th day with 103 hours clocked for this character(I am on break, don’t worry)… I’m feeling extremely underwhelmed.

In WvW I can barely do anything on my own and should I have to 1 vs 1, well I’m better off just standing still. In sPvP I’m tripping up everywhere, missing 7/10 of my cloak and daggers, even worse… I’m being schooled by pre-level 10’s. Even my new friends with less experience and gear can beat me. My damage feels so unsatisfying for how much I build towards it, and in return I can’t handle a lot of damage. As for PvE, well its just strict shortbow auto-attacks with cluster bombs and poisons every once in awhile. And to add to it, somehow unexpectedly I’m now the guild leader of a PvP oriented guild.

Just not sure where to go from here. I just want to be able to hold my own in a fight. Maybe not be that roaming thief who can juggle a 1 vs 3 and come on top nor that thief who backstabs for 15k. While it is my end game goal, for now I just want to feel I can actually do something.

So any advice?

Equips: Berserkers D/D (Usoku’s Needle) & Berserker Short Bow (Eir’s Short Bow)
2 pieces of berserkers
4 pieces of Valkyrie
1 ascended berserker amulet (still gathering laurels for rest)

P.S I typed the first paragraph to just show where I’m coming from and how much time I’ve put into this thief. However I’m open to changing classes but changing mains won’t be easy for me.

P.P. S Sorry if this came off as a rant or me complaining. I am slightly frustrated and let down about this, but I would really appreciate advice.

Hey guys. So about two years ago I made myself a thief and after playing WvW pre-level 10…I played that for 3 weeks straight until I hit 80. At that point you could have called me a “man child”. High level with decent pvp gear but I was not experienced at all. With only 10% world map complete and 12 gold and 70 silver. However I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So here I am now. I deleted my characters and kept my 80 level gear so I could server change and join my other 8 friends who now play as well. I was also lucky enough to pick up the level 20 boost. Right now I’m still rocking a thief that is level 23. My friends told me not to do the personal story because it gives level ups—better for when I need the exp.

So now, here I really am…I’m just a lost sheep completing events as they come along and quests but not actually working towards a goal (besides reaching 80 and being totally bada**). It just doesn’t feel rewarding or anything and sort of boring mainly because I don’t even know what I’m doing. So here is my pretty vague and general question to you guys…

What can/should I do? I really want to get into this game and enjoy all aspects I can of it or at least experience it. Its been years since I actually enjoyed an mmorpg and I feel like I can get a lot of joy out of this. I already had an immense amount of fun in WvW.

So..thoughts?

Quick question, which is better, using WASD to move or use the mouse? My friends say do keyboard and some say mouse.

What is your opinion? Which is better for a quick thief?

Hey, so noobie guild wars player here, second post on forums but just a question. So I’m main-ing a thief mainly for WvW and PvP (more WvW) and I’m just curious on how they are, I hear tons of different things like they are op and some say they are getting nerfed hard and all of the sort, not reliable sources though.

Now by how they are, I mean in big team fights, in little squads going out taking supply camps, handling multiple enemies at once, dealing with a slippery situation and all of that stuff. I know that there is different types of thieves and weapon sets but I just mean generally…how are they?

Hey, so…I’m pretty new to the game, only have been playing for like two weeks, anyways my question is how is Eredon Terrace for WvW?

I’ve been playing WvW for the majority of my time and I think I will always be doing it more than PvE and probably PvP so WvW is most important to me. Playing WvW with my time I see that ET is…sometimes it can dominate but for the most part it is getting ignored by Isle of Janithir and Devona’s Rest, they just battle it out while ET sits there until enough people join.

Of course I am still pretty new but that is what I see so I am asking for your opinion of ET for WvW. Should I stay there? Should I switch servers (I think you can do that right)?

Also…if you think I should switch, to which server? I prefer not to be in the best, just to have a challenge but I also don’t want to be in a bad one where it is hopeless.
