Is there a “need” for mounts? Maybe, maybe not. But is there a “need” for a broom or a witches hat? No. They are for FUN and for giving something perceived as “cool” to your characters. I am in support of mounts. I use them in other online games such as Tera and Rift and they are a lot of fun to have and to collect. There is no harm in adding another feature for players who want one.
I played GW1 for 7 yrs and have been with GW2 since the beta. I love my GW1 heros. And I play GW2 solo now due to losing a lot of my guild last year. But I like playing the game solo for many reasons. You can go afk whenever you want and don’t have to apologize or make other people wait. I can cook supper and play and go back and forth again without making other players wait for me. Also, as a shy person it is just my style of play and there is nothing wrong with that. Small guilds and solo players should not have to change their style of play. We were told in the beginning that this game was going to work fine for people who want to play in groups and for people who want to play solo. So no problem. However, there are lots of times I find myself dead due to too many foes and no one else in the area I am in. Many many times I have wished that I had my GW1 heros with me…even just one or two. With so many people either zerging or running dungeons or running the Living Story it is often hard to find random players out in the field to help you. These are the times a hero would be nice to have. It did NOT ruin GW1, it made it fun. People did NOT stop grouping up and people were still very social. ToA is an example of how people still grouped up every day and heros did not hinder that.
If you are a social butterfly and are in a big guild and have tons of friends to help you then that’s great. Some of us are not like that and would appreciate a simple hero being available when needed.
Besides, people running dungeons and such only want “experienced” dungeon folks and generally don’t want anyone but elite players on their team. That type of mentality gets old. We’re not all on the same game level. Not everyone has 3 legendary weapons or runs dungeons. Some of us just enjoy the PVE and exploring the world. Bring back our heros please…even if it is just one or two. Thanks.
I agree with making dyes account wide. I have a lot of characters and most of my money is going to dye purchases and that is frustrating.
I would respectfully like to request that GW2 adds more armor choices in game that are available perhaps for game cash or even karma. Perhaps place a new armor NPC in LA. Its cool that you want to occasionally list armor skins on black lion for real cash. But I am requesting more armor skins be made available for the average player.
Not every person playing GW2 plays the same way or the same places, etc. Just as GW1 had the Temple of Ages crowd running the UW and FoW here in GW2 we have the dungeon runners crowd. You had the hardcore in GW1 with all the elite weapons and FoW armor. And in GW2 you have folks with legendary weapons and dungeon armor. That’s great for them. They worked hard and spent the hours getting the to gear and I admire that.
But, there are also hardcore GW fans out here who have played GW1 since the beginning and who were in the GW2 beta…fans who perhaps lack the time to be able to play for the amount of hours each day that others can. Or, perhaps some of us do not enjoy doing dungeons but prefer PvE and exploring.
I respectfully request more armor styles be included over this next year, that the new armor is fit for the average middle class player and easier to obtain than dungeon armor since a lot of us do not run dungeons, and for the female armor to be a bit more feminine in the designs if possible. how many times do I preview armor and every part of the body is covered except for the hands. A lot of us would like skirts that do not go all the way to the ground, and shirts that actually have a neckline.
I loved the way in GW1 that different towns sold armor and also that you had a choice of the normal armor or the elite version. I also liked being able to purchase them for game gold and materials. Another nice thing for a low level character was getting to LA and knowing you would have about 6 different armor styles to choose from. That was a nice thing to have, so you had choices in your style. I hate going to the trader and only having one or two style choices for my particular level.
Please add more armor designs that are available in game instead of just through BL trader, and please make them available for the average middle class player. We have all these great dye colors to choose from but not many armor style choices to use them on.
Please give us more feminine looking armor as well.
Thanks.
I totally agree with this. its hard to pick a red hair accessory and then later want to choose purple armor. Also, there should be more accessory color choices such as black and white so that at least those two would go with most of the armor colors.
Thanks.
I agree, bring back henchies or give us one hero please. Some of us solo most of the time or only have one or two in the guild.
Very disappointed in the fact that I finally find a skin on trader I like, spend my money on two skins and now they are changing it. As someone who plays female characters I have a real hard time finding armor that’s feminine and revealing. Most of the armor appears much more masculine than feminine and barely shows your ankles. I wish female designers would be able to design the female armor. Not liking GW2 armor I’m very sad to say. Aion and Tera have much more feminine choices, so did GW1 (which I played for 7 yrs). I love the game, just want more armor choices and better designs. I don’t want to have to pay 100gold just to finally get a skin that shows some skin and is halfway sexy. JMO. Thanks.
Thank goodness I’m not the only one discouraged by medium armor. hard to look female when dressed head to toe in a trenchcoat and boots. Please give us more feminine and stylish choices. IMO only the light armors get any stylish choices at all.
Having an odd graphics problem with my female norn engineer. When she moves her head you see a zigzagged line across her neck making her head seem detached. It’s been weeks now and it’s still not fixed
GW2 please remove the level 3 requirement to be able to do the guild bounty training. It requires 30,000 guild points and us small guilds simply can not do that. We want to enjoy the guild bounties and have the same opportunities to play them as the large guilds do. Please remove or rather reduce the 30,000 point requirement. We were so excited about the guild challenges only to discover it will take us a very long time before we can do them. Please change this.
Me and my guild members have all played GW1 for 6 years and we are die-hard fans. We work full time and its hard for us to build up the 30,000 required points. Please change it so we can enjoy guild activities too.
Thanks.
Horrible idea! My guild is a few close longtime friends and would be horrified if GW2 “dissolved” our guild and we lost our guild points. Please DO NOT do this!
It’s also hard having only heavy, medium and light armor choices. So it limits things even further when you have a warrior and a guardian using heavy sets and only two armor choices on the trader (and yes, one of those might be craftable armor listed on the trader). And I am talking about a level 40 toon as an example.
Not everyone’s toons are level 80 and we would like more choices as we level.
I just want to see more style choices in the game instead of more elite dungeon armor because there is already plenty of those.
Right, the craftable sets are limited in number and by level. And Karma armor for low levels, well you have one choice there and have to run around and find each piece. But still, its one armor style only. The cultural sets, each race can choose between 3 but they are each for a certain level of character…and again only one style choice at each of the 3 levels.
GW1 you hit LA as a level 10 toon and have 6 choices easy to get and easy to customize. I also like having armor available in certain towns once you mapped there. And having a choice between regular and elite in those towns.
I would like to suggest housing such as the way it’s done in Aion.
It would be very cool for each player to have a house of their own, with a chest for storage and a closet for armor and maybe one for weapons.
Perhaps if guild halls are implemented then each guild member could have a house of their own INSIDE the guild land area?
I had always wished in GW1 that each of the guildies could have a little house there all their own. Just seems like a great idea.
I also play Aion and have a house there with a waterfall in the backyard and can customize the trees and flowers in my yard. You can also add statues of your accomplishments.
I think this would allow players to have a truly fun and customized little area of the game thats all their own.
I would like to please suggest more armor choices in the game. I know there are LOTS of dungeon armor sets but I do not run dungeons and simply have no interest in them. Working long hours and being a diehard PVE player who enjoys solo or duo game time I would love it if GW2 would give us more armor choices.
I would like for my characters to have more lower level choices as they play and level up. Currently they have usually a choice between two armor styles and that’s very very limiting. In GW1 once a player got to LA they could choose between approximately 6 armor styles. Even low level players like to be able to personalize their characters and create their own unique look.
But then once you reach level 80, unless you run dungeons (and I don’t) then you have very few choices still. A karma elite set, and 2 styles on the BL Trader (as usual), or an Order set or Cultural set. (The karma set takes a very long time to save karma for, and the Order and Cultural sets cost alot of game cash.) So for people like me who are diehard fans but work long hours and simply can not grind for karma and who don’t have alot of game cash the ONLY level 80 armor option for us is the TWO sets on BL Trader.
I would just like to see more AFFORDABLE choices.
GW1 had lots of regular armor sets and then they had the ELITE sets. I would like to see more regular armor set choices.
As a longtime diehard GW1 player I have to say that I miss my heros. For the times when guildies are not on and the times I just liked to run alone with my trusted heros…I miss Oggie, Master, Xandra, Gwen, Jora, Dunk, and the rest.
GW2 is big on dungeons and alot of the people here almost seem to live for dungeons and elite rewards….dungeons I may never run and rewards I will never have. I work long hours and therefore can’t play the amount of hours I would LIKE to, so its hard to commit myself to the long hours of dungeon runs to get the elite armor and weapons. Belive me, I wish I could but I don’t have that kidn of time.
Ok, my point…a great deal of the players are busy in these dungeons trying for the latesy and greatest elite weapons…therefore there are LESS peopple in PVE on the field to help other players out. I simply can not run solo in the higher level areas through large mobs and champion battles and such. I get flattened.
My guild is small (by choice) and is a small group on long time GW1 friends. But I can’t always depend on them being online and can’t expect them to help me every time I run.
I want some heros back. I don’t care if it’s just one, two or three…I want them back.
If every field was full of random players like GW2 intended it would be ok as is…but thats not the case. There are times I am standing around waiting and waiting just hoping someone shows up…but then they don’t and I can’t achieve my goals for that area.
How about creating the sons and daughters of the GW1 heros just to tie in nostalgia to GW1 and put a smile on us long time GW1 fans faces?
How many times have I told people that I’d give anything to sneak my Oggie and Olias into GW2? Alot.
Simply put, I need help and people would rather run dungeons for elite gear than actually play in the field these days.
I would like to suggest one simple thing be changed about the BL trader. I would be the happiest player ever if we could just PREVIEW the items listed, the same way they are previewed in other parts of the game with merchants. I dont want to spend alot of hard earned cash for something when I cant even see what it looks like. It takes too long to pull up wiki on a seperate screen to view each item in trader when you are searching for something.
Also, ok I said one idea but I have a second one….It would be perfect if we could check a box in our advanced search field so that only items show up that match our character. For example, only light armor ahows up in trader for a light armor searcher.
Long time 6 year GW1 player here and I love the game but these changes would be phenomenal. Thanks for reading….
