I am from Malaysia and 280ms~330ms is normal latency for me.

Since last night I also had the same issue, refer to the attachment below.

It is one of the routing server causing the problem, ear1.Dallas1.Level3.net, ANET seriously need to do something about this.

It has been many days people around the world are encountering latency issue when playing Guild Wars 2 NA servers. You may be not the one, but some of us are struggling to play especially latency spikes when we are into combat mode. I have monitored Ping Plotter closely and found out the root cause. I have also researched around the net and found this routing server is causing many latency issues to many other online games as well. Hopefully ANET would do something on this.

Please keep this thread alive, whenever there is latency spike and we need to post new feedback here.

I am from Malaysia and these few days latency were running fine, ranging around 260ms to 330ms.

The one on the left is the IP of in game map while the one on the right is www.guildwars2.com.

Obviously both are from the same IP range which started with 64.25.xxx.xxx but why there is huge difference?

Dear ANET, please find two screenshots from my end. My internet definitely had no issue with websites or other servers. Look at the ping server that from your www.guildwars2.com compare to in game latency.

Fix it this please, silence is not an option as I said.

Can anyone tell me how much update size that this game consume for 23 October 2015 release? I haven’t update my game since the last update in end of September, need to plan my hotspot bandwidth.

I am very sure my connection had no problem, local to local latency test shows stable connectivity and I ping Guild Wars 2 website link also shows stable.

The lag issue occurred when my character went into combat. Anyone experiencing the same issue at the moment?

Same issue here and I am from Malaysia.

I tried to login couple times and it succeeded, but then in game the latency was extremely high.

Sorry about the silly question here, may I know how much space or download size does this update take?

To end this issue, they should come up with Upgrade pack from core game for existing GW2 players, cost $29.99. Case closed.

This kind of case should require to escalate to cyber tribunal court.

Now that they released it it’s hard to undo it since people already brought it and they cannot change it without getting flak from both sides.

Purchase record can be tracked, either they go refund or giving other bonuses or compensation due to the bad business deal that they created.

Another thing is we need to pay to play betas? That is ridiculous too!

The Expansion is $49.99 (Standard) if you buy it on a new Account that doesn’t own the Core game you get the Core game for free. Now I am not defending the price just wanted to clear that up. I for one think this is far to expensive for the amount of content that they have shown us up to this point compared to other MMOs hell even Guild Wars 1. I mean come on we don’t even get a single free Character Slot for buying the Standard Edition?

And this is why I am suggesting them to come out with new pack which calls “Upgrade”, just give us the HoT expansion content with lower price as we are not going to double pay for the core game, this is unfair and should escalate to tribunal court.

Even if they won’t, I’ll just leave the voice here. Many are complaining now about the Standard package, which we are paying the core game TWICE. Think about it.

The price is not fine as you are paying TWICE for the core game, think again if the money that you pay is your own hard earned money.

I believe it is not just only me find the HoT packages are ridiculous. You may want to consider another package which is call “Upgrade” for existing GW2 players as not everyone need those bonus stuffs. Like me, as a casual player I don’t need all of them. Looking at the Standard package which cost $49.99 and claims the package will come with Core Game with HoT expansion. I already paid for the Core Game earlier and why should I pay another time for Core Game again instead of just HoT expansion?

If these packages are release in country like Australia with strong consumer law, there will be troubles for sure. I hope ANET would look into the packages and consider again. Just go ahead with another Upgrade package which cost like maybe less than the Standard.

I seriously disagree with your suggestion above.

Standard goes for $39.99 is fine as to attract new players to come in since it is giving Core Game and HoT expansion.

They should add one more which for Upgrade from GW2 only which cost maybe $29.99 or lower.

Happened to me as well today. I am currently concerned if they would do anything to my account.

Following my post above, the issue was fixed after few hours. The same thing happen again this morning 6AM GMT +8.

Looks like I am not the only one, my location is at Malaysia. Latency spikes when goes into combat, it happens as well when idle in town. Please give this a fix as soon as possible.
