Aside from the clipping issues mentioned about leg armor and the tail, head gear and horns/snouts, and generally crappy looking footwear. Has anyone found a decent shield that doesn’t clip horribly with any of the heavy armor? I mean c’mon now a heavy armor melee profession that can’t use a shield without looking completely lame because it floats so far away from your characters back when stowed, or cuts under the pauldrons and into the breastplate and losses a third of the image when wielded. With all of the nice artwork designed and implemented into this game by the developers and none of these have been addressed. Yet there are so many new weapons skins introduced (many of which are controversial on their aquisition method) that a major shield clipping issue can be overlooked. And hardly any new armor skins introduced to top off the abandonment of the Charr appearance .
@Crazylegsmurphy nice constructive post.
@Fortus unfortunately that is so true.
GW2 largest reward content is mostly cosmetic and should be available via a variety of methods and not only via RL cash gamble boxes.
The entire RNG system as it is currently is lacking greatly. I have no problem with any cash shop, with the exception of when game reward content is largely cosmetic, being forced to spend RL money in said cash shop to gain said rewards (example being Fused Weapon Skins only being avail from a blc and no longer obtainable) vs, recent weapon tickets for Jade items will be around for as long as coffers are on the tp. Now to get a key for a locked blc has to be done thru the cash shop, and everyone is aware of the crap that comes from those chests. Hence the gamblebox and RNG system failure. With the release of DB and the high drop rate of the coffers ingame plus rich coffers avail thru cash shop is different. If someone wants to spen RL money for increased chances over another that chooses to spen time farming is different. (not that I agree, but is fair imo even with their lousy RNG chances) But any new skins being introduced via any of these methods and only thru these methods is not a good practice on Anet/NCsofts behalf. This combined with rushing of new content without fully QA’ing the content and consistantly being buggy, to the point of annoying the player base is also a bad practice.
This game has only bee out just under a year, do they want people still playing it 2, 3, 5 or more years from now like most other successful mmo’s? Then they need to find a little better balance and thought into future content/events/item aquisation or they may have some problems. I feel things are “trending” the wrong way. I continue to play with the hope that things will be smoothed out, but they are not giving the player base much confidence that it will.
I agree with most of the points both of you are trying to make. The entire RNG system as it is currently is lacking greatly. This combined with rushing of new content without fully QA’ing the content and consistantly being buggy, to the point of annoying the player base is also a bad practice. I understand F2P and the need of supplemental income, but not to the extent of disregard to it’s loyal and prospective player base by having them play a poorly managed, non-comunicative, too often beta feeling (constant new content bugs) MMO. There are enough of those already and with Anets/NCsofts original boasts of what GW2 was to be and not quite living up to it’s claims completely, they are developing a trend is several aspects that need to be addressed. This game has only bee out just under a year, do they want people still playing it 2, 3, 5 or more years from now like most other successful mmo’s? Then they need to find a little better balance and thought into future content/events or they may have some problems. I played GW1 for 6+ years, I have played GW2 from NDA beta, open beta, and since release, I enjoy the community and the game, but also feel things are “trending” the wrong way. I continue to play with the hope that things will be smoothed out, but they are not giving the player base much confidence that it will.
Thanks for the help, guesting did solve the issue. Hopefully someone will look into this so others don’t have to go thru same problem to finish their achievement.
I have been having similar issues. I have been checking all the item locations for about a week and getting the message I have all gotten the item and turned it in, and cannot get past 4/6. I don’t know anyone on a different server to guest to, so can’t try that fix. Any advice would help.
As a general rule I will rez almost anyone if it isn’t going to get me killed 1st, in that case i kill the enemy then rez. I don’t think the current rates that are being charged for WP travel are remotely fare (2+s to a WP i can see on my mini map is absurd) should be based on distance and not level. But until they change that we all stuck with it. I find a few people now and then that run past your corpse and thats fine, it will come back around to them. When others take the time to help rez it’s saves you coins and now you get help getting to or finishing whatever you were trying to do to start with. Which in turn benefits everyone. So take/give the free cheap help or be the lone idiot. I remember who runs on past me or wants to troll.
I followed this list from Guru and thought it best to keep the number of posts down to one compiled list for anet to review. Nice list btw, I have a couple of items that could be added (some are my ideas others are ones I have seen single posts for)
New
- Hat Keeper, self explanatory.
- Chat, a channel for cross guild communication (ie. GW1 aliance chat channel) lots of players belong to multiple guilds and/or were part of an aliance that carried over from GW1 and would be nice to chat without having to track multiple pm’s.
- Guild roster view similar to GW1, useful for officers and GL’s to keep track of when members last logged in or how long they have been logged in. Lets us know if someone we invited hasn’t logged back on since release and are inactive, etc.
- Armor repair (needs help) possible options are;
A.) increase the frequency of the npc’s in some zones (will save players coinage to use towards repairs instead of from WP travel too).
B.) Introduce a Guild Repair Contract or Guild Armor Repairer (small reduced cost) we have guild armorsmiths/weaponsmiths so why not.
C.) Introduce Armor Repairer as a crafting profession (ie. armorsmith, tailor, leatherworker, etc) possible reqs being to have obtained certain level in the craft of the type of armor to be repaired previously. This may be a bit of a reach, but I thought I would toss it in the mix.
- Karma, increase reward amount/reduce items karma costs, either works or add a
npc that (for a small cost) will trade skill points for karma.
- Black Lion Chests (needs alot of help) remove from game(lol), increase key aquisition rate or from more locations, or even make items from chests worth purchasing keys thru cash shop with RL money worthwhile.
- Craftting material trader to trade x-amount of one mat for x-amount of another equal tier item. Or increase drop rates on some more commonly needed items.
- Make Trait Points payable per point to adjust instead of full reset.
- Remove item limitations on acount/soulbound items to be salvagable, if not sellable, including items obtained thru mystic forge and heart vendors.
- All game features available normally should be available while in overflow.
Exsisting – info to add to
•Notification ! When item sells at trading post. (also have control over the sale of item, to who, sell price adjustment, and and price bartering option)
•Allow movement of UI elements. (add all the same UI customize features available from GW1 interface)
These have been added ingame to some degree
If I am wrong on these, disregard
•Double click from Inventory to bank should automatically stack like items.
(this can be done with with right-click on almost all crafting mats/collectables from anywhere ingame)
•Ability to link everything to chat. Gear, Recipes, Skills, from Preview Pane as well.
(this can be done on most individual items – but not from preview and no full builds-yet)
I didn’t mean for this post to be this long, just had to throw in my 2cents and some wishful thinking.
