Yeah gratz on the crazy boost of numbers you guys got in WvW. Ye seem to have a 70+ zerg on at least 2 maps 24/7 since the last time we fought.
How many large guilds transferred to ye? The only one I know of is ASAP
Well, its nice that you think we’ve gotten large WvW guild transfer, because we havent! The ASAP guild was huge project under taken by a few AR members, and it has done a incredible job of getting people into WvW.
We don’t really field zergs that big, or even on two maps, that was probably the same zerg hitting on two different one after another.
Imagine what we will be able to do if we do get transfers!
Anvil Rock. After a few torturous month AR is back on the rise. We faced week after week of getting slaughtered leading up to the Season 1 start. At the start of season one we looked to be a sure lock for last place, but things have really turned around since than.
AR is currently 15k ahead of GoM, looking to secure its first 1st place finish since March. We have surprised a few people and will take home 6th place in the Bronze league, having put on a real strong finish. And we are just beginning to get the ball rolling. To keep up this incredible progress, we need YOUR help!
The Pro’s of joining AR:
-An INCREDIBLE core of players. Our reset nights pull the same number of people as our weekday day crew.
-No ques!
-Emphasis on defense (which we perfected after being double teamed by opposing zergs for weeks on end)
-The ability for small groups to have a HUGE impact.
These are only a few of the things that make AR the best WvW home anyone could ask for. If you are interested in joining the revolution, and have any question, feel free to send me some mail, I’ll gladly answer any questions you have!
I hope I don’t Jinx it, but does anyone know the last time AR finished in first place?
On another note, I wan’t to congratulate everyone at AR who has helped with the turnaround. And an special thank you to the hard core players that have stayed in the trenches even when things looked they would never get better.
To GoM and DR: Good luck the rest of the week! I’m hoping everyone on AR is chasing after the first place carrot, so you guys might have to brace for an AR that nobody has seen for a long time!
Also going to have to recommend Anvil Rock. On no other serve will your contribution be more appreciated. There are a few guilds similar to the description you gave of your play style, so you will fit right in!
What is the best profession to lead as a commander?
I have Warrior, Guardian, and Engineer as the three I can’t decide between. They all offer something to the party, so I was wondering if I had missed something that would make one preferred to the other.
Server: Anvil Rock
Play style: 90% WvW, I go to PvE only for living story.
Fun: Tons! No ques or lag on AR, having fun competing with guildies about season 1 achieves. We got rolled in our first match, but were in second when I was on last night.
WvW has hardly changed for us lower tier servers.
DO NOT JUDGE BY THE TITLE, please read the post and do not jump to conclusion that this is another post complaining about the differences in the two game.
I was supposed to be finishing up an essay to be turned in about 20 hours, but instead I found myself in the GW1 wiki. I don’t really know how, but I was looking around and saw this:
“Guild Wars is a CORPG, or Competitive/Cooperative Online Role Playing Game”
So that means GW2 is actually an entirely different genre…… to an extent.
I’m not really sure if this is common knowledge or not, and it’s certainly not terrifyingly exciting. I just thought I would share this. Sharing is caring.
The mesmer magic is temporary though. The outside form changes, is in a sense an illusion, but inside it is still the mechanical critter.
I am very much against not only racial rerolling, but class rerolling via gemstore items. It would make class and race selection at the beginning essentially pointless. It would require no thought at all on the part of the person making a new character. They wouldn’t think long and hard about what they really wanted to do, because they could just throw real money at it and make it something else…of the same level, with no drawback what-so-ever. Definitely no.
Race and class selection should mean something, and gemstore swaps trivialize this.
You would have a point if everyone already knew everything there was to know about the class they picked as a new player just getting the game. But they don’t, and at some point they may realize they made a mistake and want to change it without having that time they invested wasted.
Then they make another class. And they learn that class as they play it up to max level.
It may turn out that they selected a class that they thought they would hate, but in learning it over the 80 level path, they discover they actually love it.
If you can just swap your class, or race at any point, you miss things. You miss out on learning to use your class. You miss out on racial specific story. It makes having to choose a race or class in the beginning pointless.
The original limitation was, how do you change the race without issues with the personal story? This provided a way to do it, when you enter a personal story instance it could swap you back to your original race.
Race and class are ENTIRELY different things.
I have seen several calls for a gem store item that allows you to change your race, but there was always story limitations behind this. However, in the newest patch, it is shown that through mesmer magic, we can change the appearance of npcs, so that they take the form of different races.
Do you think we will ever get the option to do so to ourselves?
Are you for or against racial re-rolling?
for 5 bucks more you can get a 600 watt psu haswell ready http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171083
Do I really need a 600 watt psu?
Hello, I recently had to move, and left my old desktop behind (I was going to replace it soon anyway). I still have my laptop, but it’s not powerful enough to run WvW, or most of GW2 for that matter.
I’ve been saving up a little of my pay checks each week, and am looking at buying this build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/CCameron/saved/230w
I’m looking for some feedback, if anyone thinks anything needs a little upgrade, or if I can afford to cut back a little in some places. I building this to run GW2 at, or near, 60fps most of the time and, hopefully, never dropping below 30 (in larger groups).
If you do have any suggestions for changes please discuss the pro’s and cons of doing so.
