I’d suggest warrior or guardian, help you get used to the combat style of the game.
Elementalist: NEED MOAR POWA!
Mesmer: What does this button do?
Warrior: Can’t we just hit them and be done with this?
Guardian: Don’t worry, I’ll tank them all!
Necromancer: In the words of the grawl “Swarm them!”
Ranger: I agree with the Warrior on this one
Thief: laughs maniacally while throwing caltrops everywhere
Ascalon is the Iron Legion homelands, so we do have those. I do hope we get to go back to the Flame Legion homelands. I want another crack at them on their home turf.
It’s actually being funded by the Consortium, if I remember right. They have their surveyors everywhere in there.
I just went through all the armor pieces available. Most of the heavy armor feels more European, Western and Eastern. It sucks. The best you can do in terms of Far Eastern will be in the Medium armor category. Which does have a measure of sense, considering the heaviest armor worn in the Far East was Samurai armor, and that would be considered Medium armor compared to what the Europeans had for their armor.
Which character/profession would you rather be?
Either my human warrior or human thief

Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Death. Kinda scares me either being not able to move or being in limbo
—-
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
TRADE!!!

Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Tiboult (yes I’m sure I’ve butchered the name). Love this charr, and yes I am saying this even has a human.

Which zone would you choose to call home?
Timberline Falls. I love that area, beautiful and just a pleasant place to live. So long as you avoid the krait to the southeast and the grawl to the direct east. And the dredge. Now that I think about it, its beauty is marred by way too many dangers. So lets just stick with Queensdale. Northern Queensdale. In Shaemoor. City right there. Minimal pests to deal with. Still in a rural area.
I like the names suggestions, makes them feel more… important. But the biggest thing they need to do is either 1. Make it less specific so new players can get them or low levels can get the experience from them or 2. Add one more low level daily and one more high level daily. Those that want them fast or are beginners can do the low level ones while those seeking more of a challenge can do the higher level ones and thus get greater rewards, such as more experience or even the possibility of extra loot. Just some thoughts.
ANSWER THE HEROES’ CALL!!!
I know it’s rather off the present topic at this time, but this has been bothering me a bit. I’ve seen people asking questions about the chinese VIP system. I’ve seen a couple of people ask some fishing questions, and I’m too lazy to go quote those. So I’m going to ask it out loud, plain and simple: Will there be a VIP system implemented here in the US? Yes or no?
There is, the Tarnished Coast, which is the de-facto RP server in GW2. However, with Megaservers the RP community has been somewhat scattered, sadly.
Exactly, which is why I suggested the separate map areas for that.
Another suggestion for the RP part (I’m slowly trying to get into it myself) Is to provide RP specific server areas. Every time you go into map area you could be prompted to join an RP version of it. It would be maintained separate from the other map servers and would help get all the RPers in the same version of the map. I would think this would also be a pretty easy implementation.
Well, Kilroy Stonekin, kitten of EotN back in GW1 was named for the famous Leroy Jenkins. However I don’t know how we could make Quaggan Jinn something worth remembering. Though would be interesting to have an event where we have that one kitten quaggan that is escorting us instead of us escorting it.
There is the light armor Apprentice set. That has a mini skirt. And then there’s the medium armor Viper’s set – you won’t see it in the full set preview because the top mostly covers it (here is a picture with it visible: http://i.imgur.com/D2cXGBl.jpg).
Yeah, it’s the viper set.
I’ve always enjoyed the Shiverpeaks. However my favorite place is probably either Lonar’s Pass or Timberline Falls just for sheer scenery. Can’t decide which one I like more though.
I’ve been seeing a fair number of female charaters wearing what looks like mini skirts. I’m curious, what armor or skin is that because I couldn’t find anything on it on the wiki.
I actually wasn’t aware of the PS flow changes. My closest character to Orr after my main is lvl 73 and I can’t do those until I hit 80, so I didn’t get a chance to observe and see those changes in action. Now I need to get that character to lvl 80 fast before they revert them (if they do so) so I can see what you’re talking about.
This patch got a mixed response from me based on the different things that were added and changed. As such, I would like to express my views on each of the main areas that were changed, starting with what I liked.
1. Crafting Backpacks
These are great. Love them. Granted for those of us with two handed weapons they kinda feel like they get in the way but overall love that you created a craftable back piece that you can choose your set of stats for after making it. Really cool guys, keep this.
2. Commanders
I don’t do much PvP, however I like the new set up. Increasing the gold amount, to me anyway, helps weed out those that want to be commanders because they know what they’re doing and the ones that want to be one just to be one. And making it available on all characters was something that should have been made available from the beginning, but do put a level cap on when it shows at least.
3. Level up rewards
I actually like this. Having weapons made available to you for free as you level for the early game, along with getting a few starting things free, does help get your new character rolling, whether you’re a veteran with alts like I am or a brand new player. Just give us the option to turn off the hints and tips that come with it.
Now the bad parts are all, unfortunately, related to the issues with the new early game.
1. Skill bar
This is perhaps the worst thing that could have been done. It does the exact opposite, by limiting what you can do to the extreme. New players need room to experiment, to play around with. That’s was a hell of a selling point for the game. The training with weapons, feeling like as you use the weapon your character is learning it better, that was the 2nd biggest selling point for this game for me. It was unique, and I loved it. Now having it given to me each level makes the game feel more generic, losing much of its charm. Please, change this back to its original state. No other way will work for me now.
2. Personal Story
What upset me most about this wasn’t the fact that you level locked different parts of it, it was the fact that the story doesn’t start until level 10 now. The story was the number one sellint point for this game for me. It’s the number one selling point that you guys pushed out for so long, since before launch. And to have it limited to level 10 or higher instead of going into it right out of the gate turns a lot of people off. In my personal opinion there are two ways to fix this. Either add another episode starting at the very beginning, or revert this change completely.
3. The elementalist change
Seriously, in my opinion it was annoying enough that I had to wait until level 10 or 15, can’t remember which, to unlock Earth, which is the element I wanted to start off with. Now with this increase in the level to unlock the different elements, once again you’re not actually helping new players learn the game better, but rather holding them back from learning it. For this my suggestions are to revert it back to the way it was or at least allow us to choose which element to start off with so we get what we want to use at the start. The elements are their weapons. Their physical weapons are simply how they channel those elements. Let them be used.
I will note that I had this in a separate thread, however pdavis.8031 did point this one out to me so I figured I’d repost this in here.
Perfect! I do apologize for not being able to find something like that. I’ll go ahead and repost what I have on there as well.
I’m creating this thread so that we as players can constructively criticize this new patch. If there was one already made then I do apologize in advance.

I invite other players like myself to comment on this and to add their own possible suggestions to this. Just saying how bad the patch was doesn’t help them figure out how to fix it. Let us help them by providing reasons why they didn’t work and suggestions for how they can make it better.
Thank you, I found that I was missing Vexa’s Lab. Guess time for some fun there. Thanks again guys!
I have a interesting question. According to my Achievements, I’m missing one place to discover in Ascalon. However, I’ve 100% completed all areas. I did double check that as well. Not certain what I’m missing. Is this a bug or is there something I’m really missing that is often overlooked?
