I was excited till I read “one time event”.
Be nice if the drake in the pic was a limited time tamable pet.
I get this too. It’s immensely frustrating. I suspect that the risen are supposed to be coded to run at half speed, but something is making the opposite happen and they’re running double speed. The animation makes them look ridiculous too.
I got this same bug too.
I’m getting this too. Couldn’t try a second time with the fix as the sheath doesn’t appear at all on re-entry.
It would be super awesome if some (obviously not all) of our GW1 items were able to be picked up in GW2. Things like collectable items such as minis. If you could place them in your GW1 Xunlai boxes and pick them up in the box in your HoM that currently has no use.
Or do you already have this in the pipeline?
I’ve now found this happening to my Asura engineer too. He was fine yesterday, but today his head is completely black.
When lumbered with a companion NPC in personal stories, I am finding that, though they fight alongside you, they more often than not deal 0 damage, or 0 healing and have 0 threat generation. Is this the way it’s supposed to be, or a bug?
I could understand it if the NPC was only there for story reasons and was supposed to be of no help, but more often than not, in these story missions I’m facing more enemies at once than should be intended for one squishy Elementalist. Sometimes, 5 at a time.
And no, I’m not talking about me accidentally drawing more agro than I should, I’m talking about the times when they spawn at, or run to, your position and attack.
Also, the enemies in story missions seem tougher than out in the open world, presumably to compensate for the extra help, but if the help you’re getting is 0, then this seems another challenge stacked against you.
Is this by design or bugged? If it’s designed that way, why is it designed for frustration when the game is intended for fun factor?
I recently found some rather frustrating bugs in the personal story instance Through the Looking Glass. At least I hope they are bugs and not how it is intended to work.
While killing off some of the risen trash, some of the previously dispatched risen would respawn as I’m killing the next set of risen. Should respawn happen in a personal story? If it’s not a bug, I don’t understand why a personal instance would need respawn.
Also, as a side note, and this is something I’ve found in a lot of personal story instances; the companion NPCs are useless and sometimes cause your death. I had the ogres helping me out in this particular story instance and when coming across a set of risen mobs, each of them attacked a different mob, and as the NPCs in personal stories more often than not deal no damage at all, they all died rather quickly, leaving me alone with a huge pack of enemies. This is not something a squishy elementalist relishes. Also, when reviving the ogres, they would run straight to the nearest enemy and begin fighting it again before I had a chance to res the rest. This wasn’t because they were close to the enemies and had to engage, they seemed to go out of their way to draw agro back.
I agree. Not just about the cost of travel, but also the cost of resurrection.
I was recently attempting a difficult jumping puzzle where failure caused you to fall to your death, and each time I died I was charged about 2 and a half silver to res at a waypoint that I had LITERALLY died right next to or immediately under.
I remember a post in beta from a dev that stated way point resurrection was supposed to be free at the nearest WP to your death and the charge was a bug. The original poster in that thread was complaining that they had spent all their character’s cash and were therefore stuck in limbo, unable to play as they couldn’t resurrect.
Was it eventually decided that the free resurrection was to be removed, or is it simply that the bug remains unsolved?
Whatever the reason, I shouldn’t find that I have to give up trying a certain element of the game as the cost of failure is becoming too high.
