Hey Duke, it’s been a while… with Dragon’s Watch being busy with dragons (duh!), Tyria needs another force that is willing to aid the people in need. Do you think Hero Squad will ever be reunited?

Well I feel slightly stupid.

I’ve been posting here for the past two weeks. Today I decided to check my CPU temp out of curiosity – It was reaching 95-98 C at idle!
I fiddled with my fan and discovered the kitten thing was loose. Logged into GW2 and my FPS is back up to 45 FPS+

SO… i’m out of here. Good luck!

We’re talking about two different things here. ANet’s servers are hardly responsible for the frame rate of the game. If you’re experiencing low frame rates, the issue lies very likely at your computer’s hardware or software.

Also, I just realised that we might be talking about different regions here. EU or US. I’m playing on EU servers but today has been the second day without any issues whatsoever. Very responsive throughout the day!

The connection was great today although I didn’t play during prime time. I’ll report back if the issue returns.

Last patch came 28th of July, Windows 10 at 29th of July. Did you update your operating system to Windows 10? Are you aware that Windows 10 allows other Windows 10 users/downloaders to use your connection bandwith?

I’ve heard about this but I’m still on Windows 7 so the issue must be somewhere else for me.

I noticed that the packet loss at one of the NCSoft’s hops is always 100%. I don’t know enough about their servers so I can’t comment on how it could affect the whole experience but even their connectivity help page mentions that this is a bad sign.

-Edit-
Apparently this particular node doesn’t accept packets (security measure) but it doesn’t affect the connection in any way.

I can’t figure it out. There’s a noticeable input delay. Using Leap of Faith sometimes falls short or teleports you back a bit.
The in-game ping can show up to 900, then goes back to 70 (average is around 110). Doing a trace route to the map’s IP I’m on doesn’t show any hop over 90 ms. The input delay for skills is sometimes clearly around 200ms or higher.
I don’t have any idea what’s causing it!

-Edit-
Found one odd trace route but doing another trace after this one and the results are completely fine again.

I’ll try to monitor the connection using ‘pathping’ at different times to see when and where the packet loss occurs.

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment when this started happening but I’m having similar issues with the ping. Not as severe as some are reporting. My ping is usually around 60 to 80 but occasionally spikes up to 200 or slightly higher.
A small delay is present on every action and it’s very annoying to deal with. Sometimes it has been fine. I’m not sure if it occurs at certain time or when there are a lot of people playing. It was there a few minutes ago.
I haven’t noticed anything wrong on my side. Seems to be only happening while playing GW2.

Very high ping since 23 June 2015 update

I’m not sure if my issue started with the june 23rd patch specifically, because it seemed to be fine then, but, 3-4 days ago I started having horrible lag (only gw2) and disconnects.

I’d like to add to this. Few days ago I started having random spikes. At first it seems fine but then a very short but annoying delay is added whenever I use a skill. Sometimes it’s around 3 to 4 seconds before a skill activates. Ping is average around 70-80 but occasionally I see spikes up to 250. I’ve tried to eliminate all problems on my end and haven’t found anything out of the ordinary.

Endless Tonic Account Bound after use?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I made the same mistake today. Got an endless tonic and was curious how it looked like. The tonic text doesn’t say anything about binding it to your account. Now I’m unable to sell the endless tonic.
A simple message to the endless tonics that are not account bound from the start would make it clear for everyone. “Using this item will bind it to your account.”
Or have a confirmation window pop up when you’re using it for the first time. “Using this item will bind it to your account. Are you sure you want to proceed?” with Yes/No options.

Hello again!

Location: Estonia

Same stuff as before but not as severe. Usually at this time the issue has gone away but not today. The skills usually resolve within 5 seconds. Tried guesting on a different server to see if that helped but had the same issue.

-Edit-
Seems like I caught the end of the prime time lag. The issue has resolved itself for now. I’ll report if it does return this session.

Hello again!

I’m in Silverwastes at the moment, collecting coins. Lag suddenly started again, didn’t receive damage after falling, skills didn’t work, the usual stuff. Got disconnected after a few minutes. The lag disappeared for a few minutes but I suddenly died at one point and couldn’t waypoint back. Then another disconnection. Can’t even load back into the game from character selection now. It just loads forever meaning it can’t connect to the world. As always, everything else seems to be working just fine, no problems whatsoever.

-Edit-
Got into the game for a few minutes and it was working fine. Now I’m stuck again, nothing is working but the guild chat. At least I can chat until I’m disconnected from the game which will probably happen any moment now.

Having trouble again.

Location: Estonia
Server: Gunnar’s Hold
Time: 23:40 GMT +2

Horrible lag started in WvW during a big fight. After about 30 sec, everything went fast forwards, players running around quickly and then it stalled again. After 3 minutes of players running on the spot, I got disconnected. Nobody else in TeamSpeak didn’t seem to have a problem.
After reconnecting I was still lagging in Lion’s Arch. Pressed every skill I had, all of them were blinking, nothing resolved. For some odd reason, guild chat was still working. After around 4 minutes, everything fast forwarded again, lots of map chat instantly appeared and every skill I pressed suddenly activated.

The issue seems to have gone away while typing this message. I’m positive this is not a problem on my end. Every other online service works completely fine. Might be something to do with the ISP, something happening with one of the routes. I don’t know what it is but compared to the other time, the whole duration was shorter.
As before, I’ll edit this post if it returns during this session.

-Edit-
Had two 30 second lag spikes as if no data came through. Everyone kept running in the direction they were facing, enemies running straight past. Then after 30 seconds, fast forward, the battle that happened during the spike was played out in about two seconds. During that time TeamSpeak was working fine. Very odd.

This is a recent issue, started somewhere during November for me. Some nights it has been fine. Unbelievable delay, takes longer to log in, chat messages sometimes don’t appear at all. Skill can take up to two minutes to resolve. Other players are running on the spot or against a wall. Disconnects are common. /ip to different zones and doing tracert and ping to those ip’s has been fine. Tracert hops around 20-50ms, nothing is timed out. Ping is around 50ms, no packet losses. I do not know what is causing this issue. No issues accessing other online games or websites.

-Edit-
Time: 21:30 GMT +2
The issue has resolved itself. The game seems to be running fine at the moment, no skill delay at all. Doesn’t mean the issue has gone away, I lost an hour of my free time I wanted to spend with GW2.
I’ll update if the issue returns today.
