What accessory do you run….I used to run the soldiers before it got removed and have been looking for a decent replacement in spvp
Why not try runes of lyssa for more sustain and condi counter and then you could mix and match other more offensive amulets?
Marauder has been a hidden gem of a goto for my reaper play
Ive adjusted my style to be much more of an in your face skirmisher and bomber with shouts
I advise more toughness and vitality like in the build above…plus the dmg bonus as your target is almost always chilled. Suck em close blow your shout load and then spin to win.
Works well in pvp and pve thus far.
You can still do all those things….just would be nice to remove them when I dont want them or the heal is on cool down.

I LOVE THE HAMMER….so much so I hate switching weapons to go into melee mode.
Well done on including powerful offensive buff traits like crit and ferocity so we can spend points on things like toughness and vitality to make a well rounded character.
Biggest complaint….where is the condi cleanse? getting rid of one with a roll or one by swapping stances doesn’t make much difference and most of the time in wvw I ignored those options and just used -40% condi reduction food. I found the food to be more effective than any of our abilities to cleanse.
Can i suggest that on the f2 skill that it removes up to 5 conditions on the 2nd press that gives the buffs…dont need to do anything else as that skill is present across all the stances when one uses the herald line. The herald is already a mandatory build for the buffs and mobility alone.
All the stances other than Centaur I would leave as is…they have their uses and can be switched too when needed.
Centaur needs some love. The range on the the effective area of the skills on things like condi wipe and heals from the tablet are very very small…you have to be right on top of the tablet to feel the effects….I propose that the skills get a minor buff in their effective range but that the Revenant himself acts as a 2nd tablet so when the skill goes off they go off around the revenant and the tablet. Its hard to have the tablet keep up in fluid wvw scenarios. The pass through heal is a nice idea and the condi cleanse is a perfect idea just needs to be a wider area of effect but adding a 2nd field of the same effect around the Rev itself would make things feel a lot more useful
Creating a double bubble to block projectiles on bridges would be sweet!
Hope the condi cleanse issues get figured out before go live.

I played both Beta Reaper and Revenant over the long weekend.
This review is focused on reaper but may reference Revenant
First being in reaper mode is awesome. Top to bottom. Your tanky powerful and dangerous which I can say it has been a while since I felt dangerous playing a necro.
My only change would be to make Reaper 5 skill a knockdown.
That being said getting to Reaper needs help.
The shout cast times are seriously tooo long. most should be instant or near instant.
Also the shout time reduction based on how many it hits is just tooo cutesies.
Make the change so that there is a flat 20% time reduction in their recharge.
Same with bonus damage per condition on you…can we just have something similar so that if a target is vulnerable we get a 5-7% damage bonus.
Next the Greatsword…..looks sexy as hell and feels mmmm ok in pve but is next to useless in pvp and wvw.
I think skill 1 needs to swing faster and all swings hit 180 degrees around the necro.
Skill 2 needs to hit much HARDER but on a longer cool down. By comparison to the Revenant hammer every skill when traited similarly hits twice as hard as the necro great sword which is much slower and has little range. I am begging please rework the greatsword to speed it up. The chill mechanic is great in pve but not good in pvp or pve

My main has been a necro since launch
I play tested the Revenant, Elementalist and Necro over the weekend.
And I found the necro overall to be a disappointment.
The Revenant Hammer was made for WvW and he has some great gap closers that are insta cast.
By comparison the Necro great sword was just a sad teeth grinding experience.
After waiting so long and finally getting to try it out, it is slow as hell.
When one does connect and crit its for far less than it should be after waiting that long. The damange output on the greatsword in just pve should be double.
Useless in WvW as they are dodged interrupted and countered.
The Reaper skills are great though. Skill 1 , 2, 4 are my favs.
I ended up playing all weekend as a staff and dagger warhorn.

Long Bleeds and soooo many different ways to transfer conditions
Suck in conditions while in shroud and auto clear them…in a zerg fight you never have to leave shroud.
And in 1v1’s you can keep all the conditions on the target and not you.

crit plague signet transfer
regular plague signet transfer
Its a great sustain build that offers decent group and wvw support.
Just curious about this since I am not in beta.

Can the necro get a melee aoe melee skill that imparts burning with 170+% condition duration? chill duration’s?
200% bleed duration’s?
Who needs terror when you can burn them with fire and ice for eternity.

I have to say I have had alot of fun trying out this build.
The choices didnt make a lot of sense but using plague as much as one can makes for some crazy fun wvw situations.
In open world i subbed in spectral grasp for one of the skills just so you can pull the straggler on the outside and gang beat him.
This is a great solo build for running around the world or small gank group build.
you can grab em and lock em down.

This thread got my attention but I am more a fan of bleed and dots than the raw dps skills
So I made my necro with all exotics with the following build

I have about 25k hp 1600 toughness 1400 condition dmg.
Ill be taking it out for a spin in wvw tonight.
I think the extra tankiness and boost to healing will be a huge boon and combined with my dodge marks and dropping bleeds when going into ds itll be fun to see if i can outlast my competition in 1v1s
