staff fixes/improvements

I would agree for most of these changes, only my problem with buffing air 1’s damage is that if it has the same damage as fire 1, why not stay in air more often? It is an aoe for a reason, it should do less damage.

Also, a side note, elementalists are not Gandalf, staff guardians are gandalf, as they can use both a sword [which he notably uses] and uses the staff more for support, and you know, the obvious line of warding. If we are anyone from LotR, we would be the bad kitten chick from the first movie that saves Frodos life and sends the water shooting out, which sadly her name is at a lost to me right now

Do mesmers get the reveal debuff?

You only get the revealed debuff currently when a THIEF skill stealths you, all mesmer skills will let you stealth as many times as you want, however, with this new patch, they talked about maybe adding it to all mesmer skills as well

Had a ton of fun early on in Yak’s BL commanding ~20 into a yak’s group of ~40 to take bluebriar!
First time commanding and got to lead some fun times before getting off, good fights everybody.

Name: Fried Space Tofu, joke name actually
Approximate Age:24
Affiliation: Ascalonian
Profession:
Christof, named Tofu by his friends, is a duelist master, the Mesmer. He was always interested in technology and engineering, but much preferred to perform magic tricks on people to have fun. While a kid, he had to help his friends fight off bullies that were bigger and stronger than they were, and thus became very good with tricks using his intelligence to fend them off, and has picked up some skill using a sword to defend those that he cares about
Appearance
Tofu is an average height man who is more on the skinny side. He has curly deep, deep brown hair with cutting golden-brown eyes. He always wears his childhood quagaan backpack with his glowing greatsword that he stole from his first kill, a giant that his norn acquaintances refer to as a jotun. He believes that the sword is a good luck charm, and keeps it on him all the time.
History
Tofu is neither poor, nor is he rich. He grew up among common wealth, he knew his parents, and his other family. He grew up happy and content mostly. He was born around Lion’s Arch, as his father was part of the Lionsguard. His mother was just a commoner, and they met when his father saved her life. After Tofu and his sisters got old enough to travel, they moved to Divinity’s Reach to be with his mother’s family, and that is where he grew up.
Being a commoner, Tofu had to help out on farms and keep bandits out of the crops and away from the livestock around divinitys reach.
Current Status
Tofu now holds a house in the frozen wasteland inside Shiverpeak Mountains, a house of isolation to practice his magic. He fears that he will harm others by practicing it with them, but is regularly called upon by his friends to help them on adventures, and to accompany them for fun.
Guilds and Groups
After moving to Dragonbrand as an adult, Tofu joined the guild Elephant Ambush [EA] and has become an officer as the guild continued to grow.
Family and Friends
Tofu has two very close friends that he will help out when called to ask. A ranged, Vaden Darkstar, his childhood friend who grew up under worse circumstances, and a warrior, Aragon Dragonslayer, whom he met while adventuring after Vaden invited him to help them slay the dragon’s champion, The Shatterer.
Personality
Temperament
Tofu is a really laid back, generally happy individual, who cares too much about other people, and because of that chooses to isolate himself instead of worry himself too much.

Hopeful future commander with a few questions

in WvW

I’ve been playing this game since Beta and always loved the WvW system, though I took a short break between November and January, due to not wanting to level any new characters up, my server being thrown down in tiers due to guilds leaving, and having both of my characters at max gear for the builds, and not really liking the idea of playing them as support instead of berserker’s [mesmer and thief].
So before I get to the beef of the questions, let me give a bit of clarification if you care to read it.
So, when I came back in, I decided I would give myself a few goals. #1 was to make at least 1 brand new character, level him up, and learn the class well for PVE, sPvP, tPvP [hopefully], and WvW.
Goal #2 was to have multiple builds for each, and have the gear for each.
Goal #3 is to FINALLY finish the story and to get map completion, just for completion sakes.
Now finally, goal #4 is to get commander, hopefully for my new character.

So, with this in mind, I chose the warrior. Not because the warrior is the easy faceroll class, but because I want to take the standard 100b, frenzy, blahblahblah boring class and turn it into something a bit more complicated and is more skilled.

So, as a commander, do most of you guys run something more support oriented so that you aren’t glass cannons that are on the floor or do you run a more balanced style of build, or just stay glass cannons and hope you don’t die.

Also, how do you guys try to figure out what to do next, as in take camps/keeps/towers or what, and when to defend and when to just let towers and stuff go, and when to try to rally more bodies to your cause, and do you guys ask other commanders to pop/depop their tags to get things done or do you let it be?

Explorable dungeons for 80's only?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

The sad thing about all of this is I did AC explorable path 2 the first week of the game, with our highest level in the group being a 48, and the rest of the being between 34-36. Now, it may have taken us 7 times to beat Kohler [note this is the first week of the game before the troll trick or people knew to just skip him], and it took us a little bit to do the cannon fights, it was pretty easy in the long run. So no, you don’t even NEED to know how to do the dungeon, just know how to play and learn from your mistakes if something goes wrong. That is all.
