Hey there! It sounds like you would fit in really well with my guild, The Harbingers of Serendipity. We’re a semi competitive WvW guild on Fort Aspenwood. I’d love to talk to you in game whenever you get back from yoga lessons so just send me an in-game whisper. I typically don’t post big long responses on the forum because I think that two way conversation is a lot healthier for us.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Well sorry, the times and usa!

If any other guilds would line up please?

Would prefer a EU guild cause of raid times!

Hello,

I currently am on Whiteside Ridge, I have 700 hours of playtime and havnt done a lot of WvW I am rank 260 only I think.

Curently I get bored a lot more and I tried some WvW, I do however not like the community that my current server has. There is not enough people to sustain wvw, so you get outnumbered all the time and have no good organisation.

What I am looking for is one of a few things:

Guild has to be fun, I know raids are serious business, I know wvw is serious business. But no time to have some fun, no time to talk a bit. To just be a number that has to rep and that’s it. No thanks…

No 100% rep no mandatory come raid everyday. I would also like a break, I have real life stuff and sometimes I can get on with a friend that has a lot of work so then I want to play with him a bit. This is not everyday but I’d say 3/4 times a week that I have to raid is more than enough.

Good commanders that can teach me stuff. I would like to meet some commanders that can teach me how to command, that will explain the stuff they do so I can use that knowledge and tag up myself and start a pug maybe.

Brotherhood, I know gw2 is just a game, but there should be some brotherhood we shouldn’t be numbers fighting they’re numbers. We should respect each other learn from each other and not blame people but take it maturely.

I do not care what server your on, I will switch servers. But due to my transfering I am making a big step which might cost me a lot of gold/gems, so I’d like to talk with you the leader of a guild first.

If you do want to invest in me and do want to take time for that or if you have questions for me, please let me know.

You can contact me in game on the name Hannibal Barca. I will not be online for a period of time though as I have yoga lessons soon. But you can leave me a ingame mail or post here I will check back.

Thanks

So are the players who didn’t receive their rewards on time going to receive some sort of compensation or something? I have a feeling I already know the answer to this question but I figured I’d ask anyway :/

Why should we get some sort of compensation? Every time something goes wrong, someone always ask for compensation. Problems come up and they are fixing it. They can’t hand out compensations every time someone is unhappy.

I am having the same problem, all I want is my chest.

Because we are customers of this game, if your a customer and something goes wrong. It’s natural they will give you a coupon off. Maybe if they gave me a coupon off on gems or something. Or something, they could at least do something. Always saying sorry, is not gonna cut it either.

If I find a bug and use it to gain money I get banned, if there is a bug however that works in my disadvantage it is ‘sorry.’ I would feel like it’s no more than natural to at least get a little bit of compensation.

I agree with You Meemai. I have started to think that support in GW2 is only for saying to us “Sorry, we cannot help you. Have fun with Your bugs.”

Naturally I don’t have my WvW reward chest as well, and after April 14 patch bug with reward chests I’m little annoyed.

It would be nice if it was a bit more sincere than a sorry. Let’s say there is a bug that works in our disadvantage we get nothing. Is there a bug in our advantage and we use it, we get banned. I can understand the latter. But when someone works at our disadvantage anet cannot ban themselves but they can show some sincerity by adding in an item or something. like they did with soutshun cove.

I am just going to say, that not only looking in the chests should be done. But there should also be some kind of compensation. We are sticking with GW2 now. But I do feel that in Guild wars 1 I counted as a customer.

In this game I feel a lot of mistakes happen, surely it can happen. But when I go to the supermarket and they charge me to much I get my money back, and in some stores in my country you get 50% off or something.

So I do hope to not only get the chest but some compensation as well. Just saying…

I also didn’t get my rewards quite sad about that. Even though my server wasn’t ranked that hight.

I just opened 850 gauntlet chances…..

What did I get?
850 tokens…

I do understand if something is rare but I have opened over 1600 tickets and gotten 5 favors of the pavillion. The gauntlet chances sucks it’s not even fun to farm there, there are big lines etc of people standing there.

I am frustrated with the RNG and I would wish the rest of the community would stand up with me and stand up against the RNG..

I made this strawpoll I’d be happy if we can get many votes in this! I would really like this to happen. So please make your friends vote post it in map chats let people vote!

My goal is to get as many votes as we can get and see if it is taken seriously.

I think it gives people who really wants it an objective to work on.

I hope there’s more items like this in future patch.

What is there to “work” on?? earning enough gold to buy a legendary to buy something from someon who got stupid lucky with RNG?
Getting stupidly lucky with RNG yourself?

That is not anything you can work on…that is getting lucky with RNG and is the biggest problem in this game.

You can indeed play for thousands of hours and not get a single precurser. I got almost 700 hours on my account but the most expensive drop I ever got was worth 22 gold!

I killed Liadri after 18 tries, of 19. But for Liadri you cannot make a mistake, it has to be perfect and that is the issue. You can make mistakes. There are some white portals at a very bad spot too. Just on the edge and sometimes the illusion would kill you so it was a bit harder to lead it in. Sometimes the camera angle sucks, but then again if everything goes perfect it’s a cat in the bag.

As always people from the USA think about the USA most….

Let me call out some problems with this event, first of you made German, French and English servers, I believe there is even a Spanish one? Of course nice your thinking about Europe, and giving players with different languages a chance. However then you introduce a language filter system so if I so desire I can block all different language clients.

And then you kick them all in one boss and expect them to do events that require organisation together. The problem here is, most cannot even read what you say because they filtered on German/English/French/Spanish only or whatever.

In Guild wars 1 events would be nicer you could do them in groups, presents would fall out of the sky or they would be easy enough to do. I plead for instances like you do in story modes, make a looking for group system for those without friends lik me.

But what the event is now: Bascily you deleted the queensdale train and what has happened? Well the pavilion became a queensdale train… Which means farming tickets is very slow, getting a rare drop from the bags is very, very rare I opened over 300 but nothing as of far.

I don’t know what your doing but when the devs said they wanted to create events in which everyone works together and can be excited over a dragon… Well you just made somethign like pavillion which is frustrating, because you have to organise people with different language filters, people that cannot speak English or people. As I am typing this I am getting a whisper in game, in French that askes me how I killed Liadri…… Now I want to help him but I do not know how to say bomb kit in English.

Anyway moving on… It’s frustrating to organise those people and then it’s even more frustrating to deal with people that won’t listen, so y ou need a big guild of 80 people to do it, but how many guilds have 80 people?

A group hower can be quickly formed, we know fractals are hard and challenging and they are nice to do they make me excited to move to higher levels etc. But since it is the only challenging thing to do you do it everyday and after a week or 2 you get bored.

However a event in which I just brainlessly spam a skill and know it will take long without it being effective. I mean the gauntlet is cool killing Liadri is good, when I killed Liadri I was like YES when I killed the pavilion bosses I was like ’ I’m out of here.’ But then you need more tickets and have to stay.. Please learn from this feedback make it less zerg orientated please.

At least give Europe 2 minutes extra time in comparision to USA because we have language issues. Or stop putting me in a French overflow, when I am in a English server….

Meemai.7523

Hello all,

I am looking for a nice guild that is friendly uses teamspeak but not 100% required. For when I like to play on my own. But just a place people can pop in if they want to or not.

I like doing world bosses with an organisation so it is cool if the guild does that. I do not like big guilds that have a ‘your just a number mentality.’ I would like to do more dungeons etc…

I am a lvl 80 warrior on my main have some other 80ties as well. I like running fractals my personal level is 19 I think, the highest fractal I ever did was 21. But I just started a week ago.

Questions may be asked. But I like a guild that’s like a clubhouse not an financial organisation. I would also like to learn how to lead during world bosses with my commander tag and to lead in WvW I am willing to learn and want to learn all that. Please let me know something if you think your looking for me.

Ps I would like a mature guild I am almost 22 myself.

The biggest problem with this game is the RNG and loot. Doing bosses everyday is like playing pachinko you never know what you get. And most of the time it is crap. If precurser would be easier to get people could focus on legendaries but precursers never drop if your unlucky.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Particularly bad are the double RNG bags, you have RNG to even see if one drops, and then RNG when you open it. Hardly a superior system for gathering mats for crafting.

Yes it really sucks when I farm bags for linen I get 20 bags and only 4 linen out of them… Which is another problem it is so hard to farm things like linen because once your 80 you only get silk/gosammer or what is it called.

And the RNG just sucks. Means I can play hours after hours 5k hours if I wanted to and never get a singe precurser. Of course I could work on gathering all mats for a precurser I could do that. But what mats do I gather I do not know which one I’ll get…. So make all precursers use the same mats or make them drop a little bit more.

I do know the Chinese and Asians like a system like this though.

The problem I find is bosses and the loot they give it is playing pachinko you only get crap and with a 0.66% chance you can maybe get a nice thing. That sucks, sucks really bad. In GW1 I know it was hard to get a voltaic spear and many would farm for it. But at least you always got some decent stuff after dungeon running. In Gw2 you get a rare maybe that’s worth nothing.

There is nothing hard to do besides fractals. And in Fractals it’s nice when you get an ascended ring or such but you know you worked hard for it. In gw2 there’s not a lot to work hard for other then grinding materials etc.

Problem with living story is, the content is only added whilst it is there. If they take away the living story you cannot go there and the game becomes bored again. It’s like a cake that once a month has a nice icing, but all the other days of the month it hasn’t The baker is wondering why people only come and order the cake when the icing is there.

Bad example but you know what I mean. I hear people calling out for new races or new classes yes that can be fun for a few hours, but once you hit 80 your bored again. You already did all dungeons know the maps did the quests, all that’s left is the personal story and even that will end and then? What then?

And with an expansion this problem is even worse, your baker once a YEAR makes some nice icing that lasts 1 week maybe 2 weeks.

On the other hand, with constant updates every 2 weeks, you get good icing every 2 weeks for 1 day.

Yet people don’t complain about content in general, including expansions, but only about the Living Story.

At least by releasing new content every two weeks you get something new to do all the time, something you can never do with an expansion that you finish in a week and then get bored.

If you get updates every two weeks that is far superior sadly it’s not the truth. I havn’t seen a living story for now…. A whole new expansion at least gives a new region to go to hopefully with a new story and a new class or such. New haircuts new faces all that kind of jazz. That would mean you can be excited again new armor skins and weapon skins. The problem is armor skins are to easy in this game ascended is expensive but I do not even like the skins that much. In gw1 I would farm and farm and farm for my 15 silver armor.

The biggest problem with this game is the RNG and loot. Doing bosses everyday is like playing pachinko you never know what you get. And most of the time it is crap. If precurser would be easier to get people could focus on legendaries but precursers never drop if your unlucky.

Bored to tears.

Some advice

- Don’t do 1 part of the game repetitively, except if that’s what you want. When factal was realease, i use to play with 2 of my friends. We were doing fractal 1 to 2 times per days until we reached level 49. I had a great time then. Now, it good if i do fractal once a week, but each time I do a fractal run, i have a great time. You don’t need to do fractal each day, but you neither need to stop fractal completely. Same with each part of the game.

- Bigger guilds are not personnal if you make it impersonal. ALWAYS BE ON VOIP. I can’t talk for everybody, but when I play, i talk with the people in mumble and decide with them what we gonna do next. We give all our idea of what to do next. Someone I don’t know and follow someone else that want to do a specific dungeon, other times nobody know and we discuss to find out, other time we all have different idea and after a discussion we spit everybody in 2 groups to do 2 differents things and other time I end up playing alone because i want to do something specific that nobody else want to do. Once we figure out what to do next, then we ask on the guild chat to complete our group. And most of the time, when someone else in the guild chat ask for a specific dungeon or something else, we are already doing something, so we either don’t see it or answer no thanks. For someone in the VOIP my guild is social and personnal, for someone no in it, its pretty impersonal. And remember that guild is not either big of small, a lot of medium guild out there.

- Be proactive or lucky. I’m proactive. So I give a lot of time for my guild, make it grow and get people closer together and now my guild is closer than ever. I wanted to get better in dungeon and make speed run. So i formed a speed run group, identifying people that wanted the same thing in my guild and we agreed to specific build and learn together the best way to run specific dungeons. I wanted to do more WvW, so I found a raiding guild, join it and now 6 of my guildmate are in this guild with me doing raid 5 times a week (this became my main activity in GW2). See, I’m proactive and got the stuff I wanted and several of my guildmate are lucky and now they can do stuff that I did and they also want to do. You can be proactive or lucky, your choice. Its all about the people you play with and if you are willing or not to find those people are play the stuff that you prefer. It the same thing with life. I like to play hockey, but the hard part is to find a team, and get it organized so we can play together on a regular basis.

Sounds nice, I help newbies when they ask me something. But I havn’t found any guilds like you describe.

But it indeed sounds nice to always have people to do something with and have fun. I am not used to that the guilds I was in had no voip and would be very annoying. Only my raid guild used voip but they are kind of death atm as all leaders are bussy with school exams.

But I do fractals every day and they are getting tiresome. But I have to do them to get the level up and I have nothing else to do anway I get up do bosses/fractals and then I am done for the day,.

Well you don’t seem to enjoy too much the game. It’s normal to get bored at some point at that kind of game. But the last time i got bored i had play for 6 months and my guild was dying so I was most of the time alone. I quit during the summer and then get back in april.

But you played 3 weeks only. And not much more a year ago. You only touched the surface of the game and you are already bored? Its really not a game for you it seem. I can understand someone that did dungeon master, get 2-3 alts level up and gear up in exotic, reach level 40-50 in fractals maybe got 1 legendary and don’t like WvW and sPvP. For this kind of people, ya get bored is normal even if you like the game and this person should take a break of the game for a couple of months. But again you seem more like you don’t really enjoy the game except for a tiny part that get done in a couple of weeks only.

Hmm I do like the game, I can enjoy it but there’s things that I do not enjoy.
Svp atm… I love WvW but my server is bad at it so the uhm WvW sucks, commanders raging at each other or at others and all that kind of jazz, do not want to go there. Community wise that is.’
EotM great, very great but we get outmassed…. And the other two worlds farm us like we are mobs.

Fractals, to repetitive to keep running fractals over and over, and to go to higher levels I need earrings that are ascended the only way to get these are laurels or guild commendations both processes cannot be sped up. On the other hand even if I could do fractal to the highest level or something, it would be boring to just do fractals all day.

Pve = exploring is meh.. It feels like a chore, going for the frostgorge train can be fun if you get an exciting drop but I do not like to grind and do world bosses to get crap in a chest all because it’s pointless gambling getting a precurser is crazy luck or grinding and buying one off tp… It does not even surprise me that in fractals the guys with legendaries sometimes suck harder than those without. No offense to those with legendaries though. I know some good players with legendaries I am just saying a legendary is not as much proof of a skilled played. Do not judge them by they’re legendary I guess…

But now I am summing this all up you might be right.. I do like to do dungeons and see some new stuff but my guild is not big enough to do all this stuff I am in a small guild and thought of leaving them. But there’s a catch, the bigger guilds are not personal and are just pick up groups. So I am at a loss.

Ritualist was an awesome class but I do not see it working in gw2 as they took a whole different aproach. They merged ritualist with mesmer as mesmer has the spirits well they are not called as such but you can think of them as such. They really strayed from the guild wars 1 concept I for one would love to see the ranger more diverse in gw 1 you could decide wether you took a pet or not, in gw 2 you just get one…

OMG stop complaining about content i would understand if you didn’t have anything new for 6 months. Let them launch the game in the new country first. If you don’t like it go and play other mmo’s that give you new content every year.

???

This game has nothing new for a major gaming group since release.
Believe it or not, there are people who play for a nice time, epic storys and adventures to be mastered. Getting connected to a self made hero and be part of a fantasy world.
These people love good storys, new continents to discover new storys to be told and lived.
People who doesn’t farm or grind a dungeon for special material.
People who doesn’t always wanna fight, who are not playing PvP.
Actually don’t grind at all to reach a special target like a legendary.

You create a character play 10 own story missions, change to Claw Island and go for Zaitan like every race else.
These people doesn’t find anything new since the release for 2 years now.
There is no new story or new contend
Are you really surprised these people are asking for new contend or leave ?

i am not a grinder at all. the lore and story is what motivate me to continue playing, i like gw2 story and lore but it moved forward slowly and it was predictable ,guess what end of ls1 was another elder dragon, people on lore forum expected that months before end of ls1 and it happened just as they predicted and some also got the dragon right lol.
that being said, i have all legendary weapon i want on my character(4). and ton of skins, dyes etc even from grinder point of view i did grind and got everything i want.
i do not want another slow moving LS 2 which we all already know its about elder dragon. it just cant motivate me to play this game any longer, i want expansion to expand personal story and lore of game much deeper than small LS.

Problem with living story is, the content is only added whilst it is there. If they take away the living story you cannot go there and the game becomes bored again. Have you tried joining an organized WvW guild and running with them? Or putting together a sPVP team?

WvW yes I have done a lot of WvW with a guild in team speak and all that jazz. Must say though that last time was no fun we went to our borderlands, went to the camp on top of our spawn. We got killed we went again got killed. Went somewhere else got killed. My server is really bad at WvW we either win from people that are even lower on rank, or we get owned. The thing is the guys below us in rank we can win from that easily. But the guys one one place ahead will beat us hard everytime. It’s not a case off aah it was close but the other one managed to win just before us.

So to say I never did a lot of svp but I wouldn’t know where to find a team that would bother teaching me what to do and how. I am not a bad player in PvE but svp… I never really done that much of it the trouble of buying new weapons new runes/armor. I wouldn’t mind but will not do such things to go around with some randoms and face the rage hammer when I fail yet another time because I am not that good at knowing what to do and how to build in pvp. whom to focus etc.

Very bored and unhappy at the moment. There is nothing to do, nothing at all…

Let me add that other games doesnt need to say anything, because they have a playable game. So it doesnt matter if you dont hear anything in 6 months. But in this case, where we have present issues, hearing nothing is suicide.
We need to know that something is coming, something better than the present, actually.

Very true it’s the silence that is annoying, and the silence means there is nothing comming anytime soon. If they would let us know now, what would be comming to us at let’s say 1 july… Aight that would suck because it would take 25 days… But at least got something to look forward to. Now it’s just ‘nothing will happen.’ And the silence is the most annoying thing/

Dear guys,

I started playing Gw2 a bit after launch, I got to level 80 got bored and quit playing.
So after not having played for a year or longer, I picked up the game again. I got on start up a cinematic and found out to my dismay that lions arch was destroyed. I joined a new guild and heard people speaking of so called fractals pinging ascended stuff. These seem to be pink rare weapons…. Also I heard the word precurser something I never had heard before.

Anyway after 3 weeks I got my fractals level up to over 20, an ascended weapon that I crafted. Killed Teq that became a big world boss, got an ascended amulet and rings. I just need the amulets but the only way to get them is yes… that means I will have to do dailies for laurels and farm ectos.

I could try getting a precurser but to be honest getting one is just gambling and I do not like gambling. Because ussually I lose with the luck I have. And it’s so randomized that in blackjack etc I could at least mabe use a bit of skill by card counting which cannot be done at mystic toilets or a big chest that spawns at a boss.

So I am bored to tears with this game. Things I could do:
Well I saw people running with a nice bladepack on they’re back, or a rose. The rose I bought in the end, the bladepack I could go for that but the droprate on them is so crap whilst others in a event got thousands of them. Well they got 500-800 and already made they’re pack most of the time.

So the living stories and events are nice but once they are gone the game becomes very boring. I never ever did a living story, but I imagine if there was one now I’d be playing chilling with people and kicking back. So I can imagine many players are bored and quit playing. I know anet might not care as much because we bought the game already that is money they have. Yet I also have bought gems but now well I don’t care anymore was thinking about buying gems but I am not gonna do it.

Why not? I’ll end up getting bored, there is nothing to do. I could make full ascended armor but then again the stats don’t make a lot of difference and thus it’s not worth the grind. Also pieces can drop from fractals, why not just do those? Oh yeah fractals are boring because after doing 100 of them you have seen them all and you can dream them. Yes it is nice to do them at a harder level, but utterly boring to do 3 a day. Specially if you do not need the rings etc.

Well enough complaints are you guys bored at time got any advice? What could I do? I was thinking about roleplaying that might give me something to do. But then again I am not sure if I would like such a thing.

Happy day and cya all!

Game Updates: Traits

I am leveling a new thief to try this system. My experiences so far:

I’m level 31 atm, at level 36 I’ll buy my first adept trait. Thinking ahead I decided to work towards my new traits so that when I hit level 36 I can buy one of the three traitlines I picked.

- One trait asks me to go, at level 36, to Iron Marches, a level 60 are, and kill a champion.

- Another trait on a different line asks me, at level 36, to go and finish a level 59 storyline mission.

- The third adept trait I want from a third line asks me, at level 36, to do a 100% map explore of Mount Maelstrom, a level 44-55 area.

The saving grace is that the build uses two adept traits, so I can go fetch that second adept trait instead. It asks me to do a 100% map complete of Fields of Ruin, a level 30-40 area.

I feel you. I’m trying to level an engineer, but hell, it’s a mess.

So now I feel like the bullied kid that has to put on his coat and go stand in the cold cause he’s not as cool as the rest of the kids. A parent comes walking by and askes the kid what’s wrong, the kid explains it and the parent says he’s talking crap. Or won’t understand the kid.

Please look at the community look at new players… I would like to suggest the following. After seeing legendaries should be account bound after seeing you make a account bound wardrobe after making dyes shared amongst all characters.

Why not share the traits. If trait X needs you to complete map Y and another character has 100% world completion every new character he has made should have all traits. If I only complete one map that gives trait T I should have that trait on every characters.

I met the requirement once I do not want to do it 8 times. Would that be acceptable?

Note: I also know that that creature from 11-79 have been lowered in stats to account. But players will feel less strong psychologicaly. Of course those that have been leveling and now went from 20 traitpoints to 1 or such. For new players for in the months to come they would not notice and not care. I am just adding this as an argument because it hurts some players those that havn’t had full 80ties etc.

And wvw upscaled people became even weaker! Also I hope to get an reply or something, sorry for the very long post but I wanted to convey my arguments and my feelings. I am sure some agree with me!

Let’s say I am a ranger and I finish a level 30 map, I will get a trait in markmanship, skirmishing, wilderness survival etc and so on.

Or what could be done but this would in my opinion kill the game completely. Just uplevel characters so they can on level 36 complete that level 60-70 map and get that rifle cooldown trait they so desire.

Now I can in theory buy the traits also, no need to do the 60-70 area that is nice. The minor ones are only 10 silver and 2 skillpoints after all. But is this not bullying new players? Is this not fining/punishing him for not purchasing guildwars 2 before the patch? At least it is from the perspective of people that have level 80ties and know the old system. If the system was like this from release to end no one would be bothered but now I am.

Not only does it require high level zones for low level traits, your forced to explore because you could buy them but skill points are something you do not have at lower levels. You need to save for that 30 skillpoint elite for those 25 skillpoint heals. And by the time I have skillpoints in abundance I am level 80 and have 150 hours of playtime or so.

Another problem is WVW, many people just like WVW I like wvw. As I said in the start I hate exploring, I always did even in gw1. I would go where to go for skills and get my build and never explore again til some new build popped up or a farming method. So I do play wvw a lot. I level in edge of the mists (great map by the way.) Uplvld people can play here nicely, and it does not hold back the wvw seriousness business.

However… Let’s say I level in edge of the mists because I hate exploring. I got two characters to level 80 by exploring and do not want to do it one more time. I will level in wvw I believe I got one or maybe two traits there. But now if I like wvw I have to run all over to a map explore it 100% and get that trait. Or I can just jump in wvw without any traits at all why not? And many might chose to do this. Which in my opinion has no benefits for the game nor the quality of the wvw experience. Nor is it fun to in pve do a dungeon with people that got 0 traits.

Also dungeons… the first dungeons must be harder like ascalon, because now there are less points availible. Leveling is slower for newer players since they dish out less dmge or have less surviability. I would like you all to reconscider this trait system. I understand you love this game and the content you created and you want to stimulate people to enjoy and go trough that content.

But here comes my problem lets say I start playing now, I will create 8 characters get them to level 80. Now I have to do the same maps 8 times. Or I can switch between maps I mean for 1-15 there are enough maps. But after that I have to go trait hunting complete the same trait 8 times, x ??? because I need all those traits. In the end it will be no more fun it will be a grind and you will give up most likely the third time. I do not want to do the same map 8 times. I want to run around enjoy myself wvw, do dungeons and relax. A game should be fun not a chore that’s why I do not go for legendaries or ascended gear, I do not care for it.

But now I feel like my playstyle got burdened of course I can buy the traits and I will buy them. Because it is only one character thankfully. But does not take away the fact I feel penalized for not wanting to explore. Of course if cook makes a nice dinner the cook would like to see everyone enjoy it. But let’s say there’s someone in the group that hates onions and the cook throw in onions a lot of them. And then expects that one person to eat as much as the rest or enjoy it as much as the rest, and he won’t… And so the cook decides to let him do all the dishes….

Is he then not being penalized for not liking onions? Should the cook not have said ‘alright this person does not like onions or is allergic to them (do not know if this is possible), I will leave the onions out for him.’ Of course it is a lot of work for the cook…

But who knows what the cook thinks? I could let him do the dishes or I could let him clean my house. This is how I see paying for the traits.

Of course you cannot give traits for free if others have to explore, but make it so that wvw also gets traits free. After killing so much mist defenders taking so many keeps etc. AFter killing the harpie/ veteran wurm. I would like to see some more different flavors, I would not like to see either buy or go explore.

Hello everyone, hello A-net.

I have been thinking a lot… The trait changes what to make of it? I understand in GW1 we had elite skills, but in GW1 it was quite different, I’d say in gw1 you had to travel all over the world for skills. I can remember needing that one skill for which I had to go all trough the world, on the other had GW1 had such a thing as runners that would run you there for not to much money. You could also run yourself and traveling with henchies would go quite fast after heroes came it was even faster!

Now I can see in GW2 it’s more of an mmo with areas something trough which you walk but use waypoints, God praise the waypoints. What I have noticed however and the reason why I quit this game before for a year.. Endgame content, at lvl 80 I had not much to do, besides exploring. However why explore, I do not want that legendary I do not care for legendaries. The gift of exploration does not matter to me, thus I was left with nothing to do.

If unlocking traits would give lvl 80 something to do and it has to do with exploring, how does it differ from exploring for a legendary? A legendary is optional it’s the cream or the cherry on top of the cake, this whilst trait points are the backbone of the cake. I need my trait points. Just now I rolled an engineer and I was following this guide they speak of traits at lvl 20 traits that would enhance my bomb kit. Also the author tells me to steer away from the flamethrower or grenades as I cannot take the traits for that til around lvl 60. Well I cannot follow the guide, because I basicly have to get to lvl 80 to get it all. Now I would like to ask in the engineer class. How do new players become aquinted with flamethrower/grenade kits etc?

I understand if you use the bomb kit at like lvl 20 or so, go for flamethrower at lvl 40 or whatever because of trait points, now you need to get to lvl 80 and your stuck with a lot of kits what I am saying here is as a newbie you cannot gradually get used to your kits. No you get them all at once, of course I can run around with a flamethrower but it wouldn’t be as good as with the traits and in that case the rifle is stronger. Thus I am lvl 51 now and still havn’t used a single kit. Oh wait I used the bomb kit once for a underwater veteran.

I am quite sure other classes might have they’re struggles to a mesmer might do! Maybe a necro that relies on minions I do not know much about those two classes. I had created of every class one character except for the engineer. So I am looking at how the engineer works look up a guide and find out I cannot use that guide because of the trait points.

Anyway moving back to the backbone and trais, yes a legendary is end game content and you explore for that. For my traits I really hate exploring. Also the trait on my engineer that lowers the cooldown of rifle skills and such (sorry forgot the name.) Requires me to 100% complete a map for level 60-70. This whilst it is a trait that in theory could be ascessed on level 36? So what do I do with that? I cannot go there, and do hearts…

So I was thinking what could be done? You could drop the trait system, you could change it so that those traits are unlocked when doing bosses or lvl 1-15 15-25 or 30-35 maps/bosses/areas. Or you could say a map unlocks not one trait it unlocks one treet in every tree.
