[Suggestion] Spectral walk becoming a blink

in Necromancer

Meep.1724

So as every necro knows, when it comes down to mobility, we [the necros] are at the bottom of the totem pole. I had a random idea this afternoon that could change it up a little by changing the way [Spectral Walk] works. (I mean, as if you ever use the [Spectral recall] for anything else but ALMOST jumping to your death).

Using http://tooltips.thatshaman.com/ I put together some tooltips, though they lack some information, which I will explain here.

How this skill would work:
Spectral Walk will become a ground targeted blink (instacast) on 300 range, breaking stun. Sounds short? fear not.
Upon use, you gain 2 stacks of “Spectral invigoration” (5s). Each stack will grant you 2% life force upon taking damage (as usual with spectral skills). Also, you gain access to the follow-up skill “Spectral step”

Spectral step works similar to the first cast: ground targeted 300 range blink (instacast).
The difference: it doesn’t break stun, but grants 2s swiftness instead and has a short cooldown (<2.5 seconds). It also consumes 1 stack of “Spectral invigoration”, reducing the amount of life force you get when hit.
Once you run out of “spectral invigoration” the skill flips back to “Spectral walk” and goes on cooldown.

When traited with spectral mastery, the duration of “Spectral invigoration” is increased by 50%, and you gain 3 stacks of it, rather than 2, and of course, gain life force on activation. “Spectral step” would also grant 5% life force on activation in this example, netting you at least 20% if used up instantly.

Please note:
-After using “Spectral walk” you will still be susceptible to CC, so you can be locked out of the use of “spectral step”. However, you do get life force per hit you take, so you got that going for you.
-Untraited, you have a 900 range teleport (provided you don’t move inbetween casts). Traited, you have 1200 range. (however, since you can walk inbetween casts, the range per cast might be reduced. This is in no way “balanced” out yet).
-I would suggest not removing the “green trace” you leave, this way you can still be tracked down rather easily. This skill should grant mobility, rather than juking/confusing the enemy by disappearing around a corner.

That was my suggestion. I understand that it’s probably just good hope that won’t make it to the actual game, however, it’s always worth trying.
I’ll go grab a few buckets so I can at least take some salt home with me, should I be buried in it.

Good to see Anet’s already on this.
Funny thing is, on the gandara FB page, people are trying to convince themselves that I just sped up the video or used some kind of program. lol
good to know there’s more evidence for this being a bug!

….so can this thread be removed? it’s prettymuch a copy of the aforelinked one.

So a few hours ago I logged in and saw my chars spasm in the charselect menu. I thought it was something that would be resolved by selecting a different character. No avail.

So I just logged in, assuming it had something to do with the charselect menu. While loading Divinity’s Reach, I saw the loading screen “yellow circle” move at superspeed (actual loading time unaffected ).

Upon entering the Human capital, EVERYTHING was moving at incredible speeds. Boon cooldowns were confused (timer spasmed around, going down and back up). I tried moving through different maps (queensdale – kessex hills) to see if it would fix anything. All I noticed is that I couldn’t move through the map portals directly. It took some time to port me, but got there eventually.

Somewhere during this experience I decided to record this for a couple of reasons:

1: it look hillarious
2: to show it around, wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this
3: to show that I’m not high and making up stories, and Anet might potentially consider looking in to this bug. If one were to discover how to reproduce this, one could do worldcompletion in one day… (well not really, you have barely any precision of movement, but you get what I mean…)

I posted the vid on youtube:

Sooo…. anyone else seen this happening?

are clicker / songs macros allowed?

K, good to know about instruments.

as for the clicker, still unclear to me.

“You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere. "

Especially the “while you play elsewhere” is untrue in my case, I can’t do anything else since my mousepointer has to be hovering over the luck i want to use.
(NB I want to use this macro to spare my fingers and mouse, all the clicking isn’t so great for you.)

are clicker / songs macros allowed?

Posted by: Meep.1724

Meep.1724

Hello,

Firstly, I’m sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums, or already asked. I did not find any information using the search option though.

My question:
I have made a simple macro that (left)clicks about 20 times in 1 second for the purpose of quickly “eating” essences of luck.
I have read elsewhere that only SOME macros are allowed:

Gaile Gray.6028:
Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.

So is this macro a 1 function protocol (only used to click), and so allowed.
Or is it multipe functions (clicks more than once (more than one “spell”)), and so not allowed?

Another thing I’m wondering is about player instruments.
Would it be allowed to “record” a song as macro, so it’s easy to replay?
I would assume it’s not, as when the instrument is unequipped, you would be casting spells instead… So just asking if it’s OK when used out of combat to make song playing easier (cheaty cheaty~).

Thanks in advance for any constructive answers, please do tell if my questions aren’t clear enough! <3

Received a mail with the info on restoring my account! including the warnings of what will change and the request to respond promptly as the snapshot won’t last indefinitely (of course, snapshots are updated once in a while eh).

I’ll be reset to april 10th, not bad, as my hack date was april 17th.
responded as soon as I saw the mail, I hope my account will be reset after the weekend!

Ive been waiting over 24 hours and have yet to get a response from anet this is just awful support

Support sends out an automated reply soon after you submit a request. If you did not get it, there is possibly some communication issue with your email and support (check your junk mail). Also, if you are unsure HOW you were hacked, it is possible that your EMAIL was hacked and allowed the hacker to change your password and unless you secured your email account, they STILL have access to it and could delete any support emails quickly so you don’t see them.

Just stating a possibility as I have always gotten relatively speedy responses from support (but I would not consider a 24 hour wait “awful support”, either).

Email hack is probably what caught me too… Had some support mails in my inbox (that I did manage to reply to) and after refreshing they were gone.
So that’s why I’m using my other mail to resolve this, and changed the pass on my gw2 mail. :I

So far still no response from the recovery department, or whatever it’s called.
Guess it takes a while then.. .bleh ><

anyway, something I was wondering:

if my account is reset to a day before one of my characters’ birthday, will I get the gift back too?

As I fear I won’t get it back, expecting the gift giving stuff to be separate from an account, and on the real calendar, it’s birthday has already passed…

Hi Meep, sorry to hear about your predicament. Please feel free to add you ticket number to the following thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-Part-2-merged and someone will take a further look.

Be warned that restorations take longer than most other support issues as our GM’s need to thoroughly investigate where everything has gone etc, just an FYI (as I see your worried about the Gift) we restore items rather than rollback your account, so your characters birthday dates will not change.

I hope this is of some comfort to you

Just to be sure, does that mean that any progress I make now on my characters won’t be reset? (such as money made, levels gained, achievements, pvp ranks etc.)

As I read before that the whole account goes back to an older snapshot… and now I understand that you just get your stuff back… I’m a little confused…

I did however post my ticketnumber in the thread you linked to. I’ll wait again, patiently.

Any progress made will be lost once the Account Restoration takes place. Your account will be reset back to a former time/snapshot. Levels, Achievements, etc. will be lost.

As I expected. However Aidan’s post did confuse me a little… making it seem like you get your items “mailed back” so to say… ahwell…

Alright, update here:

Recently got another email saying something along the lines of:
“we sent a mail to reset your password and removed mobile authenticator. If you want to activate it, see the info here: [link]
For more information on account safety, read this article by Mr. O’Brien [link]”

and the best news to me:

“Regarding your missing items, I am transferring your ticket. Someone will be on contact as soon as possible.”

So far I see that I am getting good support here.
Once again proves that asking people in-game doesn’t always give accurate info.
(As I heard alot of “they dont do anything” “-bleep- Anet, they don’t help at all” etc. Probably the same people who login to say that GW2 is a -bleep- game and should have never existed etc. etc.)

Hope the account recovery will happen smoothly and quickly.

So far I am making the best of my situation: Made an engineer to do some sPvP with. At least I’ll keep my personal experience in playing an engi even after reset

Is there any information on how often such restore points are made?
If it takes me back 1 month, might mean I lost a MF’ed precursor Dx

Hey guys, just wanted to know…

What can Anet do for us after we’ve been hacked?
today I experienced my first hack, lost over 300 gold (if not 400) and a LOT of gear etc. etc.

Already updated my security as much as possible and sent a ticket. Now I wonder, what can/will be done about this?
any Anet staff can tell me what they can do… or a fellow hackee share their experience with the help provided by Anet?

Without any dedicated benchmarks i couldnt really say which out of a i3 like the 4330 or the i5 4440 would be better for GW2 specificaly.
The i3 doesnt have 4 ‘real’ cores, so it would loss some performance there, but its at 3.5ghz, where as the i5 4440 has 4 real cores but runs between 3.1ghz and 3.3ghz (meaning in Gw2 it would run at 3.1ghz)

if u could get a i5 4670 (not the k version) then it would be a easy choice for the i5.

sadly, the i5 4760 would be a bit too pricey :/ even if i’d save up…
so there’d be a battle btween i3 4330 and i5 4440
Whereas i3 would probly save alot of money. But yea, without benchmarks, the decision would be hard still

The G45 board is a fine motherboard, no worries there.
The CPu however is a littleo n the low end tbh, if i were u i would lok for a i5, preferably the 4670k since the motherboard is a Z series allowing for OC’ing and the K series CPU’s are OC’able.
If u never want to OC then i would get a B85 or H87 motherboard (or the cheapest Z87 board u can find) + non K series i5.

Hmm… Well I don’t think i’ll overclock at all really (too lazy to look into it mainly)

So following the ideas… got to a new combo, €23 more expensive but, has an i5
Intel Core i5 4440
MSI H87M-G43

would it be any good? if I’m not misinformed, I can get them both for a total of €236,44
(€10 more and I get some more PCI slots, tho the only thing i got hanging on a PCI is a wifi card that I’m not really using anymore. Got a PCIe GPU so that won’t be a problem)

[OP HERE]
Well, as it seems, I can’t buy a phenom II from here at all (not 1 shop having it available).
So now I’ve decided to just save up some money to get a whole combo, motherboard + CPU.

However, seeing that I’m not so great with finding out what kind of MoBo to get ( or even CPU) I could use some advice once more…
My casing can hold an ATX so that won’t be a problem.

So far I’ve found a little combo that would get just below the €240
MSI Z87-G45
Intel Core i3 4130

However, I have no knowledge of reliable motherboards. All I read is different opinions that literally contradict eachother, so following that info, either all brands are fantastic, or they all suck.

Sooooo, you guys got any clue of what I should try to get? (keeping in mind that im just trying to get a small upgrade for now and not making it future proof, will get a future proof system in the far future)

I have a X3 720 BE currently, but my motherboard allows for core unlocking. So I took my X3 @ 2.8GHz and put it at X4 @ 3.4GHz.

Core unlocking is a bit of a gamble though; might be better off getting a X4 or X6 BE processor.

Tried core unlock once. Entered an unending cycle of reboots ^^"

If it’s using an AM3 socket, it’s unavailable in any decent (web)shop :/

Currently, I use:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7800

As sidenote: apparently I have an AM3 socket in my motherboard, and due to budget issues, I do not plan on getting a new motherboard, so AM3+ / 1155 sockets are out of the question (sadly).

(I’ve found that an AMD Phenom II X4 965 would be quite good, but can’t seem to buy it anywhere :/)

Warrior animation loops on heal/SoR?

in Warrior

Posted by: Meep.1724

Meep.1724

Hiya~

Just some random fun for warriors:

All skills that are channeled can be looped by hitting the weaponswap button 0,1s after hitting the skill button (ALMOST simultaneously). This creates some intersting looking animations (tons of vids on this stuff on youtube).

HOWEVER, sometimes I seem to accidentally loop Signet of Rage and Healing Surge (or signet of healing, not sure anymore).
I wonder if there’s anyone out here who knows how to loop this animation intentionally. I heard that jumping in the water while using SoR loops it (the “rage entering the warrior’s body”), but I also looped it on land.
I believe it has something to do with using a shout after activating the SoR/healing skill but can’t quite figure out how.

So if anyone knows how and cares to share, I’d be very happy!

They asked me to send a pingplotter of my laptop. I did.
Their response?
“packet loss…. red bars in graph = no connection with server = inactivity = kick..
ask ur ISP since it happens before it reaches our server”
Whereas the pinplotter I sent was recorded on my laptop, no issues at all, didn’t even lag once during the record.
I really hope techsupport made a little mistake when reading the mail I sent… If not, they’re a bunch of… what’s the censure word here? “kitttens” right?
