Dear GW2 players,
GWLADD is a group of players looking to promote competitive PVP within the GW2 community. We launched in April 2016 a matchmaking system between PVP French teams and we are now looking to extend it to the rest of the European servers with our next season the 29th November at 18:00 CET.
We are also adding to the system a significant part of community management including tools that will facilitate recruitment for your team, a discord server and an exhaustive list of teams participating in the ongoing season as well as the list of players for each team. A page will be available to each team and each player on the online platform so they can introduce themselves to the community, choose their avatar, set up their language, list of classes played, etc.
As we want this system to keep improving in the future, additional functionalities will be added going through the seasons so we can contribute to improve each player and team game experience on an ongoing basis.
We believe that introducing such a system for the community and managed by GW2LADD will be useful to everyone and will be a great opportunity to improve everyone’s game experience by making it more lively and facilitating the communication between the great teams forming the GW2 EU PVP community.
To be able to participate in the next seasons, you have to agree on the following conditions :
- Having a minimum of 5 players, max. 7 players for 5v5 and minimum of 2 player, max. 3 players for 2v2
- Committing to respect GW2 Ethics Chart & GW2LADD Rules
- Having only EU players
- Create an account to register your team and its players on the GW2LADD website
- There is no minimum level required to be part of GWLADD. We insist on the fact that this project was launched to improve everyone’s game experience by getting the community of pvp players to be closer to each other.
- ProLeague teams will be able to participate in the League.
Registration:
There is no registration fee to be part of GW2LADD, however any donation to help support the project would be much appreciated as well as players willing to give some of their time to help develop the project. This project aims at having more European teams play with each other, kitten your level and keep improving!

League & Matchmaking system :
Once registered, you will be able to set up a date & time when you are ready to play and for which any team will be able to take up the challenge via the matchmaking platform! You can also directly challenge another team and agree on the date and time when the games will take place.
Every game will be taken into account and the results will be integrated into an ELO Rating System (the number of points you earn or lose depends on your opponent). GW2LADD Rankings will be displayed under the Ranking Section of the website.
At the end of the season, many rewards will be granted to the participants. Obviously, the better you perform, the greater the rewards will be! However, every participant will earn some rewards and there will be a lot of special rewards you can apply for.
Every season will begin two weeks after the new Meta release and will last for two month. After the end of the season, there will be a two weeks break during which a tournament will be organized. Following the end of the tournament, a new season will begin that will last until the new Meta release which will start a new cycle.
Game rules :
Each game between two teams will be a Best of Three on the following map rotation :
- Forest of Niflhel
- Legacy of the Foefire
- Temple of the Silent Storm
The Arena password will be sent to the two team leaders before the game starts.
Spectating will be strictly forbidden & passwords must stay confidential. There will not be an official referee for each game but a GW2LADD staff member might be present if needed or required. For some games, a streamer appointed by GW2LADD will be able to stream the games live.

First, sorry for my english who is far from perfect but feel free to aks if you don’t understand something.
GW2LADD is a group of people looking to promote competitive play within the gw2 community.
We launched early April 2016 a league system between French teams, fully automated with ranking and seasons. Now we open this system to the rest of EU players.
In addition to this system, we are launching a project with a strong community component, including tools to facilitate recruitment for your team, a forum and a comprehensive list of teams participating in the current season and the name of their players. A page for each team and each player is also available and customizable.
This project is moving: throughout the GW2LADD season we’ll provide you with new features to enhance your gaming experience.
We hope these tools made available to the community and managed by GW2LADD helps. They will make it more alive than ever and facilitate communication between teams.
The requirements to participate are:
- Commit to the GW2 user agreement and Gw2LADD rules
- Only have EU player on his team
- Create an account and register players and teams on Gw2LADD website
- No minimum level is required: all teams will meet others of their level. This project is truly communal, feel free to participate, whatever your level is!
- Pro league team are not allowed to participate.
Inscriptions:
We will not ask you to pay registration fee for this tournament, but donations to support the project and reward teams are appreciated, as are the players who wish to give their time for this project. This system aims to make you meet with European teams, improve your team level as well as you improve yourself.

Course of the season:
Once registered, you will be able to choose between planning your game or challenge another team which will offer them to play against you at a time you choose together. All games will be recorded in the website built-in ranking system. At the end of the season, many prizes will be distributed. There will be of course prizes for the best teams, but everyone is entitled to his share of the pie, with many special prizes!
Every game makes you win or lose points according to an Elo rating. The number of points won or lost varies depending on the opponent you face and his position in the season.
You can join the running season at any time.

give the thief more freedome on build construction. The main goal is to get
rid of the mandatory component of this traitline and allow build diversity.

bugs :
- fix the dodge after sb 5. When a player dodge quickly after sb 5 with unhindered combatant he doesn’t go forward.
- Sometime bandit’s defense doesn’t block skills that are not unblockable.
- sb5 doesn’t always tp where he should (with valid path). Ex: use sb 5 and only get tp half the distance
QoL change :
- no more knock back when we use shadow step or tp skill out of dh trap or hammer 5 ring
- No damage taken when teleport skill are used throug any AoE/trap/etc… it’s a tp not a quick walk.
I think this would be a good start for a good diversity in the thief

EU tournament
Asura Ball
The asura ball is a very ancient and noble sport whose forgotten’s origins date back to the first meeting between Norn and Asura. Legend says that Gixx have discovered a copy of this game’s rules during his excavations for the priory. Since this event, he preciously keeps it in one of his secret archives to protect his people from one part of the story that it is better to forget.
But as smart as he is, the old Gixx underestimated the knowledge retained by the second people of this story: the Norn. This is by searching the remains of the life of Gunnar Poundfist I came across a wonderful story of an asura ball match.
He describes it as a team sport and I quote, “As fun as a bare hand fight against a pack of rabid vaettir”. It also honors as well as the agility of the panther, the cunning of the raven, the team spirit of the wolf and the force of the bear. For the bear, I have to play this great game!
This is why I, Metredel of the Norn people, declare the opening of the Asura Ball LADD Cup 2015! Train your team, sharpen your senses, capture your Asura, get your hammer, drink your beer because your future legend will be written in this tournament!
If we believe our oldest Skaal’s stories, the rules were so wonderful and intuitive but, regretfully, not really adapted to our time. This is why I allowed myself to update them so that everyone can enjoy this great event!
Rules
- No runes, amulets, sigil
- No automated attacks or basic skills, are allowed only controls and utilities specified in the build section.
- The only authorized benefits are vigor, protection, aegis and regeneration. No buff.
- A team consists of a goalkeeper and 4 players
- The goalkeeper is a guard on each side to ensure fair opportunities of goal.
- The goalkeeper is not allowed to go out of the goal.
- The ball is a necromancer asura to prevent it from being “deflate” too easily.
- The asura is also the main referee of the game
- If the asura finds himself stuck in a wall more than 3s, it moves slightly to allow better access for the players
- In case of serious misconduct, the referee has the right to disqualify the offending team
- In case of asura going out of play, he is put into play at the out of play location
- The warrior, the engineer and the goalkeeper are restricted to one per team.
- The ranger’s pet must be in passive mode. No F2
- The engineer does not have access to his utility belt
- The thief can use shadowstep and headshot
- The mesmer can use blink, mantra of distraction and signet of domination. No shatter

Organisation
The games will take place on the map forest of niflhel and will be divided into two periods of 4 min to allow the teams to switch side. 2 team, which armor will be dyed to differentiate themselves, put themselves on the same team and the asura in the opposing team. The games will take place on Sunday 6th at 3pm for the qualification and on December 13th at 3pm CET for the final.

I have the same bug on all my character. The selected finisher is not saved and comes back to the default or previous finisher.
Could we please have a feedback for know if the issue is worked on ?
Boss
Raid’s boss are evil and want to kill us, they can be giant or smaller but still be visible during the fight to keep a good visibility of their skills. Boss are the final opponent and are unique and epic. They also have each their appropriate and unique skills in the game to give them a real identity.
Mechanics
During the fight it can be asked to the players to do one or several action to counter a boss’s mechanism (throw object at him or stuff like that).
Some bosses are so malefic and deceitful that they can call on their servant ( adds ) during the fight to weaken the players. It would be then obligatory to form a group responsible for the management of the add which, if they are not managed, can kill all the group.
More The bosses will all have moments when they will try to strengthen themself or to throw a big devastating aoe on the players. Then it will be necessary at this moment to kill the servant who strengthens him (like the statue of baradin and the healer), to use an object to interrupt the aoe (the mouth of zaithan) either then to look for a refuge in the map behind a rock or something else. The players who do not succeed in using one of these methods will be heavily penalized by an enormous series of damages (OS to be discussed).
Finally every boss will be separated in many phases according to his life or to a rotation of attack as the lupicus or the puppet for example.
During these titanic fights it will be essential to work in team and to have an irreproachable positioning to not undergo too heavy loss.
Reward
There will be no vertical progress because it is not what gw2 wants to promote . All the rewards will be account bound since the acquisition to keep highly-rated “prestige” of these. They will not be obtained somewhere else whether it is tp, pvp or pve. The rewards are connected to the raid and obtained in the following way :
Every end’s chest guaranteed the drop of 2-4 gold or exo, 1 raid’s token and some gold (5 or more) + usual green-blue. It is also possible to loot :
*Ascended weapon/armor box
*Ascended raid weapon/armor box
*Raid minipet
*Ascended trinket
*Raid’s crafting material (40-45% drop rate)
*Raid’s recipe
Raid’s token is a currency which allows to buy various objects from a specialized merchant. We can take raid’s exotic weapons/armors for 30 token or a gift of the raid against 50 tocken, recipes, consumable or raid’s crafting material.
With the raid’s gifts and raid’s craft materials + full of other things, it is possible to craft a precursor defined in advance bound to the account to offer an alternative way to have a legendary which is really legendary.
More every raid will have a shutter of success with titles + a title to have completed all the raids.
To finish there will be a leaderbord with the ranking of the fastest run and the name of the players who completed it. It will be available on the gw2 site and on a statue in the entrance of the raids and the city.

Raid would be a nice addition to the endgame content of gw2 and i would love to participate to it with my post.
Raids in Guild Wars 2
Aimed at who ?
Raids are an endgame instantiated contents for the lvl 80 player (exotic stuff minimum) who want more coordinate challenge in PvE.
Contents’s type
Raids are instantiated to have a better management of the player and use all the fonctionnalities below.
Unlocking
For have an acces to the raid you have to use a dungeon entrance like portal somewhere on the Tyria’s map. Then you will be tp to a little instantiated area (like the central transfer chamber in gw1) who is a preparation room for the raid. You can find seller, trading post, bank, armor repair, etc… . All the player who enter in this raid are grouped here and can make a party of the raid’s size (who are automatically left when a player goes out). In this area you can open the lfg and launch a raid’s searching with a description of what you want, of course the lfg tool has an adapted section for raid and their size.
When your party is ready and all it’s member here you can enter in the raid with a portal (like the portal between 2 area), but everybody will have to pay (automatically) an admission charge (1g or more) and when the raid have skitten, it’s impossible to go out or take more member or switch character.
Finally if all the party die, the player are ejected to the preparation room and have to pay the admission charge if they want to enter again.
Contents
if we look with a technical point of view, it would be more simple that each raid have is own size (10/15/20 player). But I think that it would be preferable to have several versions of the same raid (10/15/20 player) for not exclude the lesser. If we look at the gw2 fight’s system, 20 seem to be the maximal limit for keeping a good visibility on the boss and support the teamplay.. 10 is the minimal limit for me.
Duration
Raid should last 1h with a average group and don’t go under the 35-45min with an optimized group.
Difficulty
The difficulty should be present in each raid but not as a dps check, hp bag or massive OS. It would be more interesting to ask for some coordination between the player and do some action in an short-medium interval or to use the right skill at the right time (like bump, fear, cc, etc..) and have an excellent position. A good boss’es defiance management should be a key point too.
Encounter
The mobs in the raid are all lvl 80 or more and silver for the little pack or a lot and “trash”. They have unique and interesting skills (like mord minions) in order to restrict corner stacking. Furthermore they have an optimized composition with different role and combo.
