How is everyone today?

I usually do not post about connection issues.

However, for the last week or so I have been getting kicked off quite regularly.

I have checked my connection and even had the ISP (Comcast) check it out and they cannot find anything wrong either.

Despite this I will be in the middle of World Boss or a side adventure, or jut running around and it kicks me off.

These issues happen everywhere from time to time and that’s normal . They do not ever seem to last this long though.

GW2 is the only game I am experiencing this with. All my other internet seems to be working well.

This is frustrating as I have had to repeat personal stories, side adventure, LW and so on after I started them because I got kicked.

Is anyone else experiencing connection issues?

Supposedly when Heart of Thorns is purchased you are awarded retroactive Matery Points, IE for Personal Story chapters already completed, achievements also done, Karika Queen , Evolved Jungle Wurm, etc.

I currently have earned 24 points and received NONE on the purchase of Heart of Thorns. Support says they cannot, meaning to me will not, award the missing points.

I wish ArenaNet would fix something this important and take care of us that paid $100 or more for Heart of Thorns.

I understand that sometimes it take a little while to get bugs out, but this is ridiculous. I should be way beyond where I currently am with Mastery Track.

I really am upset at ArenaNet for not fulfilling it’s obligations to me.

I have contacted support and it has taken two weeks to just get them to acknowledge that Mastery Points were supposed to be awarded for the above when Heart of Thorns was purchased.

It makes me feel like ArenaNet wants your monies but doesn’t want to give you what they are supposed to after they get it and cares nothing for us who support them.

Has anyone else had difficulties with retroactive Mastery Points awards?

Hello All,

I “lost” around 120 gold some time ago, I believe in May or June.

Today I “lost” 261 plus gold.

The last time ArenaNet said I “sold” items and that was why.

I felt lied to then. I mean if I “sell” something for 100 gold and it takes ten percent commission that will be a net gain of 90 gold.

ArenaNet, I guess, gave me 100 gold for this?

I submitted a support ticket, but no hopes of recovering anything because ArenaNet evidently classifies “selling” and “buying” as the same.

I changed password in case I was being hacked.

Hello All,

You know these broken forums are not understandable. The advertising I have seen for GW2 has a line “Robust Interactive Forums”, which is false.

Fix the forums instead of saying – “We no longer have that subcontractor and have no plans to fix forums.”

I know it is difficult to fix the forums, especially to keep all intact. However, if you have to start over do so.

I am so tired of having to create a support ticket, have my messages moved and the link does not open new message, and not being able to search posts.

Also, what’s up with missing gold? I lost around 270 gold last night and 120 plus in June.

ArenaNet said, in June, I “sold” some items and that caused the problem and they were not returning gold.

I can always make more. However, how do you lose monies selling something? I mean it does charge a fee, but there is always a net gain when selling and not a loss.

As to the gold I felt lied too and the forums not working makes me feel like “Screw you! We don’t care about our players.”

I see all this gaming competition for GW2 with $250,000 in prizes. Take that money and FIX THE FORUMS!

Hello All.

Many are having this problem since the last major update.

I switched areas once and never synced to new one for around five minutes. I was able to move to a safe spot and restart game.

However, now I log in and the area I am in has to build. Sometimes it takes 10 to 15 seconds while other times a minute or more. I do not move as when it first happened I kept running into obstacles.

I saw a reply from ArenaNet and they said they are aware and working on a fix.

This isn’t a game bug, but its your hard drive that is too slow. Get kitten or at the very least try to defrag your mechanical drive. Even with kitten I get the invisible terrain while it loads map assets.

I run defrag at least once a week, once a month or so delete stuff I am do not need on computer all the time and get it on my external drive, and just spend two or three hours in maintenance.

Despite this ,ever since the update of 26 July I will log in and every single time have to wait for Guild Wars 2 to “build” the world.

I choose not to move because the first time I was standing on air and in several distractions were obstacles I could not see.

I moved to Verdant Brink once and was doing this waiting so I started doing something else. I looked at my watch, I is old I wear a watch, and about five minutes had passed. My character was on air still and nothing had “built” up around that character.

There seems to be a lively discussion on this, but the Forums are busted and ArenaNet apparently does not care,

Please do not jump to the conclusion it’s someone’s fault without doing a little research first.

I have been pointed to numerous posts on this and even ArenaNett has said they are working to fix this.

Hello Again,

A friend at a web development company uses Google for their forums and searching the forums.

He let me know that Google helped keep forums intact while they implemented Google and Google local search. They did not charge for the setup and had very reasonable costs. They even got a nice discount for allowing Google to put “Searches by Google” on their forums.

He noted the difference was amazing. Google facilitated the crossover and stood behind their software and searches much better than original contractor had.

When they had first contractor if there was a problem it was difficult to get them to fix the problem. If they had a problem with Google then Google may even send someone to their offices to help and not even charge for that.

Their original contractor always wanted hundreds of dollars or more to send someone.

My suggestion is contact Google and see what they can and will assist with. This crippled forum is really useless and so far, because I can not search I have had several posts added to an already existent thread.

When I am told that there is already a discussion on my topic I cannot find that discussion.

If this has been broken for a while maybe it is time to fix this so we can have ease of use for the Forums.

It is annoying to not even be able to search and then be informed there is already a discussion on an issue and you cannot search for that thread.

FIX THIS NOW BY CONTACTING GOOGLE OR ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO HELP WITH GETTING THE FORUMS UP AND RUNNING CORRECTLY. DO THIS NOW SO WE CAN SHARE INFORMATION ACROSS THE FORUMS LIKE YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS SAY IS POSSIBLE AND REALLY IS NOT.

In my mind a working forum is essential to helping me learn a new game and also to see if a problem I am experiencing is occurring with others.

Right now this is not happening and needs to be fixed NOW not later.

“We are not fixing this.” is a cop out and cripples the whole reason behind even having forums.

One huge plus he added was that Google helped migrate forums and once the new system was in place they said they needed for forums to be turned off for four hours which actually turned out to be less than two hours.

There was very little loss of previous posts and Google really helped. Also, Google is very knowledgeable and was cheaper than previous contractor and they are not going out of business any time soon.

Google even has systems in place for smaller community colleges and small non-profits that they provide free of charge to these organizations. I know this because I was at Community College of San Francisco (CCSF) when Google helped them with email and their forums. I recall the switch going very seamlessly and now CCSF has a great email and support system online thanks in large part to Google.

Hello All,

I don’t want to repeat posts so I have tried the search feature. No matter what word I input by the fourth letter it always returns “No Results”.

This, to me, is kind of silly. Why have a search feature that does not work well?

Google has a great search program. They even give nice discounts if the site using it will allow searches by Google and some times even have a link to open a mew page and search the entire internet.

As it stands the search feature seems to be useless. Input three character and the fourth gives “No Results” no matter the word.

I posted a message re Black Lion Trading.

I didn’t know where the post was so I type “Blac” and got “No Results”. The subject was “Black Lion Trading Company issues”. I have no idea where that post is and cannot get the search to find it.

ill this be fixed any time soon.

Hello All,

Has anyone else noticed that ever since the 26 July update that it takes some time for the game to load?

Ever since the update when I log in now I am standing on air for one time almost five minutes. I quit the game at that point and reloaded.

It still took a minute or so for the buildings, walls, floors etc. to appear.

This did not usually happen before 26 July and happens now every time I log in and it gets around to showing me the screen.

It may be petty, but it is annoying that now I cannot log in and expect to see the are I am in for up to a minute or more.

I traveled to Verdant Brink and after two or three minutes logged out and back in.

Does anybody have any answers?

I submitted a query here about not having slider arrows or a quantity box in Black Lion Trading Company. I got the suggestion of repairing the game client which I did. Then I uninstalled game from computer and reinstalled.

I still have no arrows or box which I am assured others have.

Is there any other suggestions?

Please find a screenshot with Black Lion screen for buying open attached. Also, the arrows or box does not appear anywhere, buying or selling items.

I sent a support tivket. They asked for a screenshot. I obliged and the answer is still making me wonder. The support person said “I see you have arrows and box available.” Made and makes me wonder did whoever even look at the screenshot?

I looked at Mastery Tracks and Points. I gained experience for first tier mastery

If I started with 18 that means I would have NINE left?

I did not. I earned all the rest I needed so far.

I completed the stories BEFORE the Mastery Point System and did them again after Mastery Point was initiated.

I did not get any Mastery Points the first time through because there were no Mastery Points. Now, with these story already completed I will not get any Mastery Points from repeating?

That is, to me, kinda lame. AreanNet institutes a new system and because you have finished story tracks prior you cannot take advantage of the new system?

In the wiki under “Mastery Unlocks” it says that many story episode completions like “Breaking the Blade”, “Crime and Punishment”, “For the Legion” and so on gain a Mastery Point.

So, I took characters that had those story tracks and ran through them again. However, I did not get a Mastery Point from any.

Is the Mastery Point only available if you have not completed the story already? Or is there something I am missing? What gives? It would be nice to gain Mastery Points if I can.

Yesterday morning one of my characters, a Necromancer, stopped dealing any damage to foes although my minions still were. I moved the character to safe spot and logged out and in. Still no damage.

After that I tried every character and they were all dealing no damage, Ranger’s and Necromancer’s pets and minions still did. About an hour to an hour and half later this seemed to go away.

Today it’s back randomly plus a foe I have been hitting while in combat will suddenly stop taking damage and “obstructed” will appear. That is strange to me as I was just dealing damage and did not move.

I thought the problem was temporary yesterday, 28 July, and now I am wondering.

I tried several different areas with different characters yesterday and on all of them they dealt no damage.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem and I queried GW support. They could not help so I contacted Nvidia and they asked if I had latest drivers. You may have automatic updates which I avoid.

I updated and many challenges inducing not even starting went away.

Contact Apple and see if they have suggestions? Also, is this happening with Windows machine? If so contact graphics card company?

I asked sometime ago, I believe about two months, about having a “quantity box” for Black Lion Trading Post.

I don’t always need or want to purchase either one or 250 of an item and the current slider is very difficult to get 4, 16, 25 or whatever. When I queried support they said they would possibly look into it and let me know that Black Lion is HTML. I took it to mean that would present a challenge having a quantity selector, but maybe I was and am wrong.

Anyway, it would be nice to have a white box or drop down menu in Black Lion as some of the items I want are expensive and it’s a pain buying close to ten.

I see one only so far outside of Provenic? Trail in Queensdale. That seems to be the only one left on my map as the others are now gone.

Maybe it took a little while to propagate to me as I saw them all over after the update, but today they seem to have almost all disappered.

Has anyone else experienced weird graphics?

Several weeks ago I started experiencing “bright spots” all over. These areas are so bright it is difficult to see anything.

I am wondering if this is me or a game issue.

Oh, I forgot.

It takes forever to log out or exit to desktop and loading areas and instances take a longer time than other games. Also, at times the game becomes jerky and I attempt to logout or exit and end up staring at the screen for minutes until i finally CTR ALT DELETE and sign out. Sometimes I have to reboot. Have 8 Gb RAM and 4 Gb Nvida GeForce card so game has resources.

I realize there is a lot of information being sent and received on your end. However, all the stuff I have d/l and the ONLY application that never reaches top d/l speed is Guild Wars 2? If it has gone beyond 1000 Kb a second then I missed it.

Having the speed I have that is, to me, ridiculous.

I am going to weigh in.

You said "Repair your client, delete temp files, defragment, delete old picture/music, do disc clean up. " I do that on a regular basis ALL of it.

I have fiber optic ISP so I get top speed of 1 Gb up and down. I believe trunk line is the only way I can get better speed.

Everything else downloads very fast except from you. I start d/l and what takes literally 30 secs to a minute elsewhere takes five, ten, twenty or more minutes from you.

Kinda ridiculous that I seem to have faster ISP than you?

Back in May of this year I queried support asking: “Why is there no way to input numbers when buying items from Black Lion Merchants?”

This ability to input specific numbers is available elsewhere. The answer was that Black Lion Trading uses HTMl, with the inference that you cannot accomplish this in HTML.

I dabble in web programming and have done so since HTML 1.0. There have always been user input boxes, called “white boxes”. They are called “alpha” or “alpha numeric”. The alpha accepts letters from a – z or A- Z only and the alpha numeric accepts numbers, symbols, punctuation marks, etc.

When I wish to purchase more than one of an item and less than two hundred fifty the slider bar is useless.

The person who answered the initial query asked me to post a question in the forum so I did. I

I did and do not expect a reply, but it would be nice to not have to spend monies on items I do not need and also be able to purchase more than one at a time. Further, some items I want to purchase in quantity are expensive.

I look forward to this being rectified in a future update.

In Akk Wilds Metrica there is a Hero Point where you answer questions about Oola’s Lab. Directly behind that is the entrance and a POI. The POI is easy, but you need a crystal to enter the mini dungeon.

The crystal is supposedly green, looks blue to me, and has inscription “Oo…” on it. I looked and looked for this and finally was in Gendarran Fields taking Toxic Offshoot out. Had to run and was blocked by Moas. Dead. Twice.

That kittened me off that I began killing every Moa I ran across. BOOM! In Metrica I ended up with three entrance crystals to Oola’s Lab.

So, if you are interested and haven’t done Oool’s Lab, it is fun. then make sure to take down Moas in Metrica until you find some entrance crystals.

Hello All,

Currently I have two engineers.

I have noticed that some opponent blockers, Tamini Warriors, Harthi Lancers, Mohir ?? block flamethrowers at one hundred percent. However, bandit blockers for one, take highly reduced damage.

I am wondering why as it seems to me that it is impossible, unless you are in an invulnerable shell, that flames in general can not be blocked one hundred percent.

Have not taken time to notice if other flmes can be blocked, IE sigils, magic blasts, flaming weapons, etc.
