Love the support team, closed my ticket after transferring me to “Tech Support” without a single word, not even a “too bad”. Good to know that even being calm and polite results in 11 day of no action, and a giant “screw you” at the end.

Still getting this error, support basically keeps replying back with a “we can help you recover your account”, when clearly the account isn’t compromised.

I was finally able to grab the error code, which is 11:1000:7006:743:101.

I’m relatively certain my account is secure, it is just frustrating to get booted from the game every hour.

This afternoon I changed my password, just a routine monthly cycle. Now twice while playing this evening I was disconnected with the error “Invalid Password” and completely booted from the game (I did not think to write down the error code, sorry). Logging back in worked fine, with the new password.

There is seemingly no suspicious activity, only my connection showing up on the security tab, and no login attempt emails.

It was definitely there in all the beta/stress tests right up til launch, but only recently I’ve noticed we get nothing. That’s why I was hoping for official word if it’s just broken, or removed.

In the beta, you received a (considerable) amount of karma for helping someone with their personal story, but now it seems you get no reward of any kind. The official wiki for Karma still even states, “Assisting another player with their personal story.” as a method of acquiring it.

Is this by design or currently broken?

Missing upgrade on item

I had selected Potent Ring of the Beserker as my reward from my personal story “Forwarned if Forarmed”, which had a Ornate Ruby Jewel in it’s upgrade slot. Upon zoning out of the instance for the story, the gem is disappeared.

It’s showing the upgrade slot as unused, and not providing the stats the jewel was providing. Logging in and out, nor zoning has resolved the issue. This is also making it impossible to populate the upgrade slot with any other enchantment.

Then explain how you believe I am not looking hard enough, after that share with us how you found it. I will then maybe try your method.

It is only launched as needed, if you’ve not yet opened the trading post that login it will not be present.

Tell me why there are 100 other posts involving hacking. Tell me why GW2 can be bruteforced.

As far as I know, logins are rate limited, along with an email to verify new IP’s to login to your account even if they are successful in determining your password. If they were able to get in to your mail to allow themselves in, your “hacking” is a much larger scope than GW2 itself.

Why are there so many? For the reasons I mentioned in the first post, people often use passwords on many sites, or so simple that it appears on a password list. Even if there are “hundreds of hackings”, statistically they’re likely to fall in to one of those categories, or actually be infected.

Even if there were 1000 compromised accounts, that’s only 0.001% of the one million copies pre-purchased.

ArenaNet is not getting “hacked” or “compromised” in any way, it is likely you are either using a password you’ve used on another site that has been compromised, or is common enough to appear on a password list. At this point, the best way to secure your account would associate it with an entirely new email address, and new password with varying case, numbers, and characters. Assuming your computer isn’t compromised, this should be more than enough until authenticators are available.

As to the games performance, I run the game just fine with a fraction of the hardware, the issue is likely stemming from either hardware (failing or overheating), or software (old drivers, conflicting software).

Guild Wars 2 Repair Instructions

If you are having problems running Guild Wars 2, the data archive may have become corrupted. Please follow these steps to verify and repair the archive:

  1. Locate your Gw2.exe file.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
  3. Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
  4. Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
  5. Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end.
    Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair
  6. Click OK.

Occasionally experiencing network latency, generally only when I’m on my actual server (Maguuma), overflows do not seem to have the same problem.
