Your ideas are solid! I’ve wanted a transformation build for ranger for ages too, and would be nice to get a more complex playstyle with a ranger, as they’re my favorite class in the lore, but gameplay less complicated / fun than a mesmer or ele for example. Hope they add something like this

Hi guys,

I’ve owned GW2 from the start and a ranger was always my primary profession. After taking a break, I’ve come back for the expansion and made a new ranger. However it’s always bugged me I have 4 blacked out pets I can’t unlock so I decided to buy the GW1 trilogy. Admittedly I haven’t been able to play for very long because I can’t seem to follow the guides or know what I’m doing at all. I know I shouldn’t play GW1 just for points but I can’t help it, i’ve always been like this haha. I tried to use this guide:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/comments/iu3qw/a_hom_guide_to_3050_aimed_at_beginners/

However, it’s very vague at places I wish had more clarity, for example, when it says I should have enough money because I should have sold all my equipment throughout, is that to vendors or to people? How do I acquire the pets it states? How do I unlock the skills it says to use?

I’m looking for anyone to give me tips or maybe an even better guide to help me get the 30 HoM points please. Also if anyone else is attempting this feel free to join me and we can work at it together, mind i’m on Christmas break from uni so i’m unsure how often i’ll be able to play with assignments etc.

Any and all help is appreciated!

Thanks

I like the LW updates, and I look forward to playing them when they come out. Although I do have some things that I dislike. The living world stories as a whole didn’t really seem to link in with each other; it seemed we were jumping from one thing to another randomly. I think it could be cool to help link them together with dynamic events. For example, instead of the crown pavilion just appearing, have a temporary dynamic event involving you helping out the construction of it, or dynamic events involving mysterious happenings in kessex hills for the upcoming release. With stuff like this, I think they could be linked together very nicely and provide more insight and hype for the next release and give it more a ‘living’ feel. I also think they should have world consequences to make it even more ‘living’. Like when I first heard about the scarlet update, the stream before we’re saying it all boils down to this, it’s going to be epic, and while the large scale events were really cool, I feel the actually story didn’t live up to my expectations. For example, when I tried to predict what the big thing was going to be, with Queen Jennah’s speech, I thought she was going to get assassinated (which she almost did). I think with big story plots like this, it would make it much more engaging. I know this could not have happened for story reasons, like with human story missions and CM dungeon, but something like this would be great IMO.

My biggest issue currently with the living world is the available achievements. I will say this is mostly just a personal issue, but I’ll say anyway. In any game with achievements or something similar, I absolutely despise it when achievements are released only for a set period, only to be removed, which makes them unobtainable forever (unless they allow the content again in the future). This really irritates me because I’d hate looking at a category in my achievements tab with empty spaces I know I’ll never be able to fill. Because of my possible OCD, I feel the need to grind out the achievements as fast as possible to make sure I can get all of them. Because of this, I find myself rushing through the content, not stopping to admire the work put into the content, and ultimately don’t find it fun. I think it would be awesome to be given the chance to revisit and get the ability to gain achievements that players didn’t manage the first time round, not just in places like crown pavilion (which has been confirmed to return with more bosses) I mean EVERYTHING. I know this is largely just a personal issue, but I thought I’d write it anyway.

My last thought is on the rewards. I think the rewards are cool, but I’d like to see some more variation rather than back pieces. They do look awesome but I don’t particularly find them interesting to work towards as we have had so many. I also don’t find minis to be an attractive reward as they just get deposited in my collections and forgot about. So it would be cool to see more reward variation.

All in all, I do really enjoy the updates and appreciate the work that goes into making them. These are just things I’d like to see personally.

P.S – sorry if there are any spelling or grammatical errors in here, wrote this off my iphone, which persists in trying correct gw2 words.

But I agree, don’t complain about queues, there are plenty of other things to do while you wait :P.

Totally misses the point, which is that the regular wvw players want to wvw, not go chasing after some mindless champ train or running around a ‘maze’ then spending ten minutes killing some random candy cane boss by spamming auto attacks.

Maybe they should force pve’rs to queue for the same amount of time before they get to enter whatever pve map they want to enter- say 3 or 4 hours, and in the meantime they are loaded onto a map where there are two platforms that can hold 100 players each, and where an area will randomly disappear every now and then- and if you fall off, your back to the end of the queue. Maybe then pve’rs will get just how frustrating it is for those that normally wvw to be stuck waiting in limbo.

And ‘other things to do’ surely excludes any activity that requires a squad and an instance, as you might at any time finally get in to wvw, and imagine saying ‘sorry guys BL finally came up sorry gtg’ and you leave them hanging half way through the final boss, or miss the BL call and consign yourself to not getting to play what you wanted to AT ALL that day.

I understand where you’re coming from. But from my point of view, I don’t like separating people in categories like ’PvE’rs’ or ’WvW’rs’. Yes, It’s a fact that some people WvW more than others, and yes, PvE’s usually stay clear of WvW. But that doesn’t mean you can get mad at the Queues because PvE’rs want to try something that’s made available to them. That would be like PvE’rs getting annoyed if PvP’ers enter main Tequatl or something. Everyone’s entitled to do what they want, weather you’re a regular or completely new to the activity. The queues are annoying. but there’s not much you can do about it, so you could try sPvP if you’re a PVP only type of person, or other PvE’s stuff that excludes mindless trains or maze’s. GW2 is packed full of stuff. And if you really only want WvW and avoid queues, you will have to wait it out or transfer.

I agree with the thread; being in a high populated server comes hand in hand with high queues. But you can’t blame people for not transferring. Guilds cannot transfer, and if the full guild did, all their rep, upgrades etc stay on that world, that’s a lot to sacrifice just for smaller queues. But I agree, don’t complain about queues, there are plenty of other things to do while you wait, and usually high queues can mean your server ain’t too shabby at WvW :P.

Will Season 1 Achievements be staying?

Milumeo Rinku.7583

Hey all,

So, to make things clearer…

I know Season 2 will eventually take over. What I mean by the question is will the Season 1 achievements be visible after it’s over from the achievement menu?

The reason i’m asking is i’m a MASSIVE OCD when it comes to achievements, and there’s nothing I hate more than achievements you can never get again if you don’t do them. The Living Story has been a pain, although because I love GW so much and I enjoy it, I allow it to have such achievements.

I just want to know if they will be added to the historical section or something. If so that means I need to do them, which will be annoying as I’ve heard Queue times are massive. I do enjoy WvW, I just have other goals in gw2 atm, which is why I’d like to know if I need to get these or not.

Thanks

Missing Guild Trek locations?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Milumeo Rinku.7583

Hello,

Recently, my guild has been trying to do Guild Trek’s, only for us to fail because some of the locations have ‘missing’ activation points. First spot we noticed was ‘The People’s Deadlock’. On our first try, we failed because this did not have a gold circle, confirmed by 2 members. 2nd run (a day later) I couldn’t see the gold circle, but another member could. Then the ‘Kegbrawl Watch’ circle didn’t appear, but I got a blank yellow strip where ‘interact’ should have been, although this one counted towards it being completed when I pressed ‘F’. Then a few other Guild members found problems; ‘Moleberia Prison’ and ‘Altar Brook’ to name a few failed to have gold circles at their location, and we were unable to interact with them, unlike the one at kegbrawl.

Thought i’d post this here, see if it can be checked out. Anyone else having this issue?

Oh how i’d long for a norn cultural Dolyak. That’s a great idea, and the point of mounts having the same speed as a signet is a great idea, especially for the classes that do not get speed signets.

I’m now stoked for something I’m probably not gonna get xD

It would be very cool if the cultural mounts had parts of the actual cultural gear stretched and scaled to fit. A guy made a horse armor mod for skyrim and used a lot of the existing set armors and themed different armor versions for the horse. The dolyak could even have a sort of winged headpiece to match his masters set. Could scale and rotate the pauldrons and make them into leg armor for the yak and it would look great. I did this kind of thing for nifs from oblivion and skyrim all the time and it always turned out pretty nice.

Wow this would be awesome! I wonder if Anet have given mounts any serious thought yet? I mean if they added mounts or customization options to the Gem Store (which would almost definitely happen) I think they’d get a lot of money from them!

The gemshop is the games biggest goldsink. Thinking the few silver you spend to port from here to there is somehow balancing the games economy is an illusion. There isn`t a point in adding racial shapeshifting abilities unless they have a purpose. Yeah it would be neat if rangers could turn into wolves to run faster like they did in eq but then only rangers would have access to it. Racial bound mounts were never a good idea because if I`m not a norn and the norn is the only one who can access the dolyak then it screws everyone who likes the doylak that isn`t a norn. Now I could see doylaks being sold in hoelbrak and devourer mounts being sold in the citadel but they should be open to anyone who wants them.

I also don`t see a problem with people wanting to run places. The waypoints would still be there. You even have the option now to run somewhere if you want to and that`s something I do a lot. I also know I would enjoy it a lot more if I had a mount that got me from a to b a little faster. This is a huge visually rich world that doesn`t require you to be on foot to admire.

This is true, but I still think the gold cost to waypoint is there for a reason. If not what’s the point in costing anything at all? I mean there are lore reasons I guess (company who runs the WP’s get the money etc etc) but still.

I understand the racial reasons, I maybe worded it wrong, but racial influence on mounts, regardless of which race could use them, would be very cool, rather than just generic dolyaks or devourers.

The last paragraph is what I also meant (i must be terrible with words) I just think if mounts were in-game and had a speed-boost, waypoints would be used a lot less, and I don’t think they’d want that.

What I always thought would be great as mounts in game would be racial skills / mounts. For example, a Norn could turn into a wolf (not Norn-wolf) and run about, or a Dolyak, Charr could whip out some kind of engineered contraption etc. I think if they were added, they wouldn’t add anything, and be used only for cosmetic purposes. Only thing now though is that people would be inclined to run places, rather than use Waypoints, which are in the game to provide a gold sink. It’s harder to implement than people think.

I like the idea of the randomness to be honest, however, I also think it would be cool if players had a way of contributing to their chances other than farming a ton of gold and pulling the one arm bandit known as the mystic forge. Magic find is part of that for some drops (at least in part) but what I was thinking is a system that specifically targets the uber rare items and not just precursors.

Something that increases your odds of getting that random uber drop from a chest by participating and completing content. At first, I was thinking that content should be really challenging like Tequatl, dungeons, or fractals, but I think it could work with any content, so long as it scales with difficulty.

Just as a crude example(numbers are just to demonstrate how it can work): Everyone starts at 0. As you complete events, let’s say something really easy like a queensdale event. Assuming you didn’t get an uber rare item, then you get a +0.005% added to your uber drop probability counters. If you kill Tequatl, then your probability could then increase by +0.5%, and so on. So you could repeat a bunch of smaller events to add to your chances, but it would take quite a few to equal that of a more challenging event. This probability could then be capped to something like +25%. It would take a lot of playing to even get that high, but a 1 in 4 chance of an uber rare item is very good. When you do get that uber rare item drop, then your increased probability resets back to 0. This should only apply to things like precursors, ascended items, infinite use items, and super rare minis and dyes, to just think of a few. Regular items and other drops remain the same.

Obviously, this would require some planning and testing, but to just think that completing anything in the game will give you better chances for uber rare drops gives players a way to improve their chances. In my example, 50 Tequatl kills without an uber drop at least then give you a 1 in 4 chance you will get something as you continue to play the game. Since this probability increase would only affect your chances when opening chests, you couldn’t just farm umpteen million bandits over and over until it hits. Maybe also to discourage farming the same event over and over, the probability counter would only allow an event to repeat no more than twice for every 10 events. So you could kill Teq twice within a 10 event span, but the 3rd kill would not add to your counter.

You pretty much explained what I wanted to say but I couldn’t find the words haha

New Race-Influenced Classes

Milumeo Rinku.7583

The hardest part of all this idea would be creating 5 unique class mechanics.
Instead have a future update introduce racial subclass abilites. These abilities could play of each races unique connection to a class. These could follow along the themes suggested.

These could be learned in the wortld thru a trail.

To ease balance the general skill type and numbers could be similar if not identical but the animations and flavoring could be distinct for each race. For example the Ranger could all have an aoe skill that deals direct damage but while the sylvari version may have thorned vines sprout and overrun the targeted area dealing damage. The norn version could invoke a Spirit(maybe porcupine) that appears and savages foes in the aoe area.

This let’s the game balance easily while adding racial flavor. The biggest downside i can see would be that it would mean 5 art sets for each skill. And would be that many more visual cues to learn. Seeing as this would be a skill learned in the world and likely at a high level this should mean it should be a little easier to learn the art

This is great. I love the Races and lore behind them in GW2, but I definitely think there should be more racial influence. Sub-professions are a great idea IMO, as long as every race gets the same or pretty much the same it would be awesome, as I think new skills would be welcome too.

I also think it would be cool if they added further connection to what the player picks at the beginning, i.e Norn animal spirit choice, Human God choice etc.

In that case, yeah it would be great, as long as the game kept balance. Only problem here then though is that people wouldn’t be able to pick and choose what they wanted, which is a freedom GW2 has which is really cool and many other MMO’s do not share.

New Race-Influenced Classes

Milumeo Rinku.7583

I really like the ideas, but I think with them being very race specific, it would be weird playing other races with them, like a Norn Golemancer would be really weird, and wouldn’t fit lore very well. The classes would only make sense (for me anyway) if each race had a very similar class that would fit them.

Having said that, your ideas are great, and I’ve been thinking of similar thought myself, but not classes. Maybe if they added more racial skills / looks. For example, a Human necromancer might cast Axe skill Rending Claws and instead of claws, it could be Grenth’s Scythe, and for a Norn Necromancer it would be a raven. The skill names would obviously be changed.

Another thought, maybe the idea you have could be branches of current classes, like Elementalists can have a choice to gain another sub-profession as a Spirit Shaman and gain a couple more abilities.

tl;dr – your ideas are good, but I think they may be too specific to race for them to be viable for all races, but your ideas could be used in other things as they are really good

I dunno. I kinda like the idea of it being completely random. But I also know where you are coming from. I don’t think it’s unfair that people could get 2 in 2 weeks while others 0 in 2 months, it’s just the way the cookie crumbles. It would kinda be crappy if there were more about; they’re supposed to be ‘Nice, they’ve got a legendary/precursor!’ not ‘Oh…another Twilight/Dusk…’, the TP quantities may not be accurate; people may keep their precursors as they’re so rare. But I think something needs to be done; what, i’m not sure. I used to farm meta events along with most people, only in the interest of a possible precursor, but have stopped due to it getting boring and lack of drop. And I don’t like spending money in the forge either as I find gold is fairly hard to come by in large quantities fast, unless you merchant, but that’s also partly due to the game having a cash shop / currency exchange. I don’t think precursors should be craft-able either, even though they said they’re going to add it in. Unless it’s extremely difficult and time consuming.

tl;dr – I’m sort of ‘sitting on the fence’; something needs to be done, but I don’t know what. For me, they just need to provide more incentive to try and get one.

they rarely do much of anything. their main function, as far as I can see is to give the norn examples to follow. even the Norn NPC’s say, “I pray to the Spirits of the Wild but they rarely answer.”

This

They don’t often act directly, and if they don’t answer, like many Norn NPC’s insist on telling us over and over, then their help isn’t necessary.

I agree with most people in this thread; subtle aid from the spirits seem the best option.

Hey guys!

So i’ve been playing GW2 from launch (not played GW1 sadly) and I have to say, it’s been the best MMO lore i’ve ever experienced. I’ve made numerous characters, and before I knew it, i’m making up stories for them as I play.

My suggestion is to make an RP server. I’d love to see the lore and backgrounds of the game put into practice and influenced by the players’ imaginations. I have tried RP guilds, but even then, they aren’t really RP. I’ve played Rift with RP which was great and LOTRO with RP which was fantastic with the integrated music system. I have to admit, I’m not big on LOTR (don’t kill me please) but with RP I even found myself enjoying the lore and story of the game.

tl;dr – Adding an RP server would be awesome and, for me and hopefully others :P, really enhance the experience of the game.

Phase 2 – Specter / Focus

Okay, for this you will want to enter the middle of the arena so you can easily watch where the safe spots are. They Always alternate. Once you’re comfortable with where the AoE will spawn, start roughly about mid-way between the walls and the middle (maybe more towards the middle if you find you’re getting caught) and walk backwards in a circular motion around the arena following the AoE’s safe spots while ALWAYS facing and attacking Liadri. You know you’re doing this correct if you’re constantly walking backwards and attacking her, and more or less avoiding aoe (walking out of it before it hits). You will want to be spamming chains#3 and smite#2 on her as much as possible to increase damage output. She is immune to immobilize but chains also stack vulnerability, which again increases damage. Another issue you can find as you’re walking backwards is sometimes illusions can spawn and by the time they enter your view, they’re about 3 seconds away from being in your walking path. If this happens, just pop focus skill #5 (shields you for 3 attacks) which will destroy the illusion and you won’t take damage. If this is on cooldown, you can dodge through them and also be safe. If ever you feel like you’re in a good position and could take a risk, when you pop an invulnerability skill, run into some of the illusions. This will kill them, and make it easier if the illusions are becoming a problem. As for rifts, I try to kill them as soon as I can. More often than not, they proved to be a burden rather than a way to second wind, but it’s up to you. If you think you’ll need it and don’t mind being pulled in every now again, it could be useful to leave.

There is a bit of luck needed for this boss too, sometimes you will just be unlucky with how the illusions spawn and if Liadri will hit or miss you etc. Not to mention the bugs you’ll sometimes face. Just stay calm and eventually you’ll nail it!

Thats pretty much it. I used Erikas build because it was closest to what I had already and I didn’t wanna spend much gold on changing, and I modified her build slightly, but all in all thank you to everyone who posted, really gave me some good ideas on how to defeat her. If anyone wants to ask any questions, feel free to post here, PM me or contact in game.

Thanks and Good luck!

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies!

I managed to do it (albeit with numerous attempts) with a modified build of Erika’s. I found Erika’s build was good, but I lacked the damage needed to kill her and ran out of time. Once I had pretty much nailed walking slowly backwards near the middle meaning I could constantly hit her, and avoid the aoe without dodging. This meant I could use energy as another failsafe, and the debuffs she puts on dont affect you much walking on the inside as you still make it usually, but then my utilities came in very useful too if falling behind a bit.

Ok, so my build if anyone is interested was:

GS (doesnt matter which, you won’t be using it much)
Sylvari Cultural Scepter
Random looted Focus
Full Soldier Koda Armour Set (power, tough, vit) with sanctuary (default) runes (vit)
Jormag Trinkets looted from Honor of the Waves, some low level backpiece
I think I had a speed buff on (the ones you can buy from the gem store) this helped a lot, although i’m not sure if it wore off by the time I finished it. This was my substitute for not having any food or energy sigils, so if you have any of these lying around and don’t mind using them, they give you a great advantage!

My traits were – 20 / 0 / 10 / 30 / 10

Zeal
II Fiery Wrath – for increased damage against foes on fire by 10%, this helped a lot with damage
IX Scepter Power – Scepter damage increased by 10% – This is what probably tipped the scales in my favor as before I was lacking damage

Valor
VI Retributive Armour – 5% toughness given as bonus precision, giving you that extra damage while keeping toughness

Honor
II Superior Aria – Shouts recharge 20% faster – Needed as your utilities are going to only be shouts, and are extremely useful for dispelling debuffs

VIII Empowering Might – Gain might when you land a critial hit. Again give you extra damage on crit (although I didn’t know this affected you)

XI Pure of Voice – This is what makes your shouts useful for this fight, converts 1 debuff to a buff when using a shout, great for cripple and weakness that she casts on you

Virtues

II Vengeful – Retaliation lasts 25% longer – I picked this because even though I wouldn’t be directly using retaliation, it does do very well against her when used, and stand your ground gives you a retaliation buff and with 25% extra length, it just helps out a bit more with damaging her.

Utilities
Signet of Resolve – I chose this over Shelter as I found the extra condition remove to be very useful and the almost double heal with just a +10 second cooldown to shelter was almost a no-brainer for me. But if you’re finding you’re getting hit by AoE a lot, consider shelter if you feel condition won’t be an issue. Try out both.

“Hold the Line!” “Save Yourselves!” and “Retreat!” – These are what allow you to remove the debuffs and gain a buff instead. They act as Defensive and Offensive skills in this fight, and are invaluable.

Renewed Focus – This is a no-brainer again. The other elites just wouldn’t be no-where near as useful, and I needed this when my heals were down and I was getting low hp; invulnerable to damage, spam your virtues, gain new ones, use them again if needed. It all buys you time for your proper heal to cooldown and as a panic button if you find yourself in an AoE.

Phase 1 – Greatsword
I’ve already explained a little about what I did, but to go through it again, for me, the first phase always started off the same; same AoE areas, same light areas, same illusion spawn areas etc. Only thing that changed was the rift spawn. Start off with your greatsword and immediately destroy the rift. Now just casually lure the first illusion to the pool while attempting to avoid her range attacks as best you can by strafing. Once the first orb has been thrown, use GS #5 skill to debuff the next illusion, run toward the next light field and pull her into it (this didn’t work 100% of the time, sometimes the debuff wore off very quickly and she didn’t get lured) if it works, great you will have bode more time to defeating her. If not, don’t worry just let her walk up to you, and throw. Then quickly go to the next pool and throw.
The faster this bit gets done the more time you have to attack her but obviously you guys knew that. Try not to prolong the first phase. If you’re not bothered about tickets, take risks, grab a crystal right next to an illusion and dodge out the way.

Phase 2 in next post…

Thank you, will definitely try this! Energy was definitely an issue i was having when I got the running sorted, energy couple with cripple just did not go well for me. Anyways, thanks again

EDIT: And thank you also Unrepentant, I will consider your methods also

Hey guys,

So, as you are all well aware, this update came with a VERY (my opinion, anyway) difficult boss. That’s not a bad thing, mind, I enjoy this content, its just a li’l frustrating trying to defeat her. As it stands, I can pretty much always get her to phase 2 without many problems. However, phase 2 completely obliterates me. I switch to a ranged weapon, scepter + focus usually for the defense skill, but I either:

1. Get really unlucky and start off at a wrong part of the arena covered in red AoE circles, panic and before I can act, i’m fighting for dear life!

2. Get lucky with the AoE placements and get a decent momentum going walking around the dome, only to have my hope diminished by her crippling cripple debuff, which is ok to remove once or twice, but she seems to stack it on me every attack she manages to strike me with, and I run out of cleanse, which leads to low energy, then panic, then ultimately, DEATH

Ok, so when it comes to builds, i’m the first to admit i’m absolutely hopeless at devising sufficient builds for moments like this. I’m not so bad at general PvE; I know what I want, and work my traits around that. However, for this fight I don’t really know what I need or what works best. Best I’ve done is her having 3/4 health by the time i’m dead.

It’s worth noting that I’ve only recently reached level 80 with this character. My current armor is full soldiers set of Koda dungeon armor (power, toughness and vitality) with the default runes these come in which is sanctuary (vitality, mainly). I have a crappy backpiece and some random trinkets / accessory’s ( karka shell, jormag carving / talisman, beserker’s ring, lost seal of usoku)

tl;dr (shame on you): I’d like someone to give me tips on how I should build my guardian / tactics as a guardian I could use against this foe, without the need to spend much coin if that’s possible. I have access to all guardian weapons, and am willing to re-trait, but I’d rather not change runes / armor if that’s at all possible.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. They should totally recruit this Liadri in the fight with the Elder Dragons. Seriously, she’d tear them apart!

Turn unlimited gathering tools account bound

I agree with both sides. I’m in a similar position to OP, where my original character has 2 of the tools, got bored of the character and don’t plan on playing them any time soon, and the tools are bound to that character. However, making them account bound is an issue because the people who bought multiple copies will have bought them for ALMOST nothing.

I’d suggest maybe to allow them to transfer to a different character once a month or something so people who didn’t buy multiple copies have a waiting period before they can switch again, and people who did buy multiple can obviously transfer their copies across with how many they bought.

One thing I do wish would be put in though is character deletion items and being able to recover soul bound items off them. It’s annoying that they would just disappear if you delete your character. All soulbound cash-shop items should be mailed to you if you delete your character.

This sounds like a good idea. I’m normally up for temporary content, but this recent dungeon one annoyed me only because I thought it was a fantastic dungeons and probably one of the best boss fights i’ve ever played in a gw dungeon. I think it would be cool to implement your idea, or maybe add a storyteller who would let you repeat the story again on the anniversary of it (or something) that lasts a bit longer. I do think the dungeon should be a permanent addition as it was so good haha, maybe with another storyteller? :P

I like the idea of these. Full underwater one is something i’ve wanted for a while as I really like underwater fighting! It would be good if the types of dungeons you mentioned were dynamic so everything changed around each time you entered, to keep it from getting stale.

They would never take the charge out, as its a gold sink needed for the game. If anything, they’d stop people using HotM / WvW portals for lions arch and make it so they tele back to where you were before.

I don't like dungeons that force you to party

Milumeo Rinku.7583

I find it strange people want to do it alone, I love going into dungeons with a full pug party, really enhances experience for me, changing skills/weapons for teamplay. The living story makes needing a party viable (cant remember the dialogue exactly), and it would be weird to have 1 hero take on an alliance of charr and dredge with fused weapons etc. Still, I guess everyone is different, would be cool to have a scaling dungeon depending on party size or something; the amount of times I have to put off a story mode dungeon because there is no one on at night is annoying! People who just prefer to play solo would benefit from it too, and would allow them to experience everything others get.

Regular UK/EU player looking for small guild

Hello,

I’m a regular GW2 player on the Seafarer’s Rest server. I’m currently looking for a Small-ish guild ( i prefer smaller guilds so I can get to know people better). I am willing to Guest to other EU servers to help with guild missions etc, but I will stay on Seafarer’s Rest. Would like it if I’d still be allowed to represent other guilds at some points too. I have a level 80 elementalist and hunter, and i’m leveling others too.

Thanks

Keg Brawl Cheating Issue

Yeah, skill 2 is a camera aimed skill, and can be thrown straight into the goal if aimed correctly, it is not a cheat. They jump to try and avoid interceptions / out of habit to avoid interceptions, and some just find it easier to throw to the goal by jumping. There are a number of ways to combat it though. You can sometimes dodge jump in the way of it as it leaves their hands, although it’s quite difficult to do (i’ve not done it before, just seen it happen) I think it’s possible with just a well timed jump too, but you have to be pretty near them to intercept. Another method is to have someone on your team stand at their goal, so if they do try throw it in, they can try catch it before it reaches the goal. With a well timed ‘2’ skill (not holding a keg) you can fumble the player trying to toss it. They can’t dodge while trying to toss, so if you time it well and they don’t stun/pour some on the ice, you can knock it out, and gain possession of the keg. It’s also a good idea to try and keep on top of disabling key ‘tossers’ (:P) to refrain them from gaining kegs off your team / the floor and possible scoring with a toss. Doing this, regularly will hinder their chances at a long toss.

I can understand why this can be annoying though, if the person using the keg is particularly adept at throwing it in the goal from almost anywhere in the map, it gets frustrating. This gets even worse when their team is letting this happen by concentrating on disabling your team while they let the other player throw ’em all in, although I will admit I do find it fun to throw it in from afar.

As for the team issue, I also thought the same. I was gonna play some Keg Brawl with a mate for an hour or two, but found it difficult to get into the same game as them, never mind team. I eventually found them but then couldn’t even find out if I could switch to their team, so there is something I would like on that front. If it did get put in, It would probably have to be a matchmaking type of system, as I don’t think it would be very fair if a team of however many people, who could be using voice chat communication and are well coordinated as a team verse a publically matched team who won’t be on voice chat or know each other very well. So, yes, I would like to see this implemented, but as long as it keeps it fair on people who want to enter with randoms without being (possibly) disadvantaged.

Lastly, you should try tossing it like these guys are doing. Sure, it’s frustrating, but it’s fun once you get some practice and can score a keg-in-one. Try it out!

I’ve always liked the idea of the Elementalist having a super-mode Fifth Attunement as an Elite.

That would be sweet! I always thought the Cyclone elite could have been better if it incorporated all elements into it. It already has thunder and an earth like skill, be cool if it added a water skill that maybe randomly shot out healing bolts at allies / damaged enemies, and fire skill which does what fire does best and burns people
