Ascended Gear For PVE?

In reality, if you’re going to do mostly fractals and open world pve, then yes cleric is mostly useless. You’d want a mix of assassin and zerker.

Open world pve, same as above.

Dungeons are so meaningless and unpopulated that it doesn’t matter, but dps gear would still be your best bet. I mean, you don’t want to spend ages in an instance just so you can feel good about healing your teammates who are on full hp if they can find their dodge button.

For raids it would be okay for tank/heal ele, but druids might be prefered. Depends on your group.

For wvw, you’d probably want celestial. I guess you can go cleric, too.

For pvp, you want celestial, but it’s an amulet, no need to get gear. But it’s getting removed, aynways.

Thankyou! All of my Exotic gear is Zerker, and I have a set of Cleric gear that USED to be magic find before the overhaul and I find more use for the Zerker stuff, but was hoping the more elder game would have a use for the healing stuff, but I guess not.
Zerker it is then, thanks!

I’m a returning play who left a few month after the game came out, displeased with the lack of things to do at 80. Now me and my boyfriend have returned and are enjoying the larger pool of endgame. On our way I’ve been doing some research on what Ascended gear to craft. When I left I knew to stack Berserker everything as a D/D and rare Staff ele.

However sense back I’ve been enjoying the staff more and the healing/CC utility you can get out of it, making me rethink my chosen gear path.

My question is if I did spec into Cleric gear for the boost in healing/Hp will there be content hard enough I’ll feel like I’m getting my use out of those stats (Fractals and Pve mostly, the rare bit of WvW), or will the majority of my time be spent with little dps and a party who doesn’t need the healing?

Also, if Cleric is a waste, should I still go Zerker gear? I’ve looked at a few guides but some are older and I’m not sure ifs still applicable. I’ve done a fair bit of research but most of it doesn’t really give me concrete answers to these specific questions.

In summery, is Cleric gear viable? Would I be better off with Zerker? If not what is the most " PVE meta"/“proficient” ascended gear to be working towards?

Thankyou so much for your help/time.

Rambling enough for you?

Very helpful infact, thank you so much for the info!
We’re nearing 80 now and while I’ve decoded alot of what people are talking about this post was still really informative.

So really a giant gold star for you!

So I’ve gathered, but underdog classes don’t really bother me plus I tried six of the classes for a few levels and this seemed to be the most fun.

I tend to enjoy pve and large scale (WvW?) pvp, but am not typically a hardcore pvper or a 1v1 fanatic. So I’ve found builds good for either of those things but I don’t know enough to gauge how well they cross over into other types of content.

Mostly at this point I’d just like a levelling build or guide to start out with.

I’m a pretty seasoned player in games akin to GW2, but new to this game itself. To combat that, and make a character playable I’ve done some forum reading and build glancing but most of it seems to operate on the idea I’ve got a solid grasp of the class in and of itself.

I really don’t.

So I was wondering if someone could point me to a “Ele for dummys” guild or build that I haven’t found yet. Alternately, if you have any “Things I wish I’d know when I started” that jump out at you, the help would be appreciated. Just any nudge’s in the right direction would be great.

I feel kinda overwhelmed. Yep.
Thanks for the time!
