So you guys say cof p1 is broken… i won’t really argue about it. It is broken because easiest and fastest way of making money should not give the best rewards.
But in my mind DR is like the taxes. Most don’t like it but there’s also a reason it is there. In gw2 ‘taxes’ are really bad, when you earn a little you have no tax at all. When you start earning more you get taxed to the ground to the point that there is no motivation for you to work more than is ‘the right amount’.
Even then people want to get at least a bit more than their lazy neighbours and are working hard day and night… and then some guy shows up and says: I want 98% taxes from all the work you do over 1h a day. That would be ofcourse great for the 1h working guy but a guy that works 18h a day would be kitten ed.
In no way i want to say casual players are lazy, that would be stupid. But you cant really make everything fine and dandy by limiting other players in the way they play.
I really do not understand why people complain about other people’s way of playing. Wasn’t it said that we could play here whichever way we liked most? After whole day at work i sometimes like to do speedruns. They are easy, you can just turn on some good music and chill doing what you like. I like the way cof p1 is right now, right now i have a mesmer i stopped playing some time ago but i like the way i can make some gold in the little time i have for gw2.
In my opinion DR is really bad concept that is holding people back because the whole rewarding system is not really that great in this game. I like gw2 i played so many hours and yet i do not feel really rewarded by what i like doing. I like doing fractals, they are challenging and imo just super fun with a ‘good pug’.
So if i were to do what you did there, i would say: anet please introduce new DR hammer for your whack-a-mole rewarding tactics and make everything in this game as rewarding as fractals lvl 48. For 2h of play i want players to earn max of 1g, tops 1.5g.
In every single mmo i played before people were constantly rewarded for playing and in gw2 when you play to long you get less and less.
TL:DR I love the game but let us play as we want and get rid of DR, not make it stronger.
don’t worry the next guild wars will have 1 skill on your bar and that skill with auto-attack, that’s what the comunity want’s
So if i understand you correctly adding mana would at last make combat interesting like wow combat, right?
So standing in one spot and spamming few skills while pushing one more button from time to time to drink some mana pot would be somehow better than what we have now?
If anything gw2 combat system is one of the best i’ve seen in mmorpg, and one of the best aspects of this game. If they started to change it for more wow-like-feel people would just leave.
Saying that in all other MMOs you never found problems when joining lvl appropriate dungeon does not mean that AC is only for lvls 35 to have fun. You can join AC at lvl 30 which means only that you can go in and play. Look for a moment at the rewards. Do you see lvl 35 exotics there? No, there are rares… which means you get some rewards for your lvl but also there is a huge incentive to go as a max lvl character. And not all lvl 80s want to use their limited game time carrying lvl 35s.
I’m not a ‘pro’ i would not kick you for being lvl 35 or being new which does not mean i like it very much. There are players and players. I can’t say if you are a smart one or not. When i join PUG it can go either way, a lvl 80 can be just bad or a lvl 35 can be awesome. But it’s just easier to play moderately well as a lvl 80.
Also one thing i’ve noticed in gw2 is that there is a lot of players that do not speak english or engrish or signlanguage or are just plain simple mute. It’s not a big deal when you are in a lvl 80 group because you can just assume everyone knows what to do (more or less).
There is also a problem of lack of experience. It’s not a big problem because me or someone else in group can just write a sentence or two to explain how it all works. But then there is a big amount of people that won’t say they are new to this (and i like to ask before we start), in this case you assume everyone knows the dungeon… and then you see this guy, that said nothing, and he is doing very dumb things.
Also there is this thing called understanding what you read. Most of the times i will post a lfm message and whoever joins stays. But then sometimes i want to do a speed run because i only have 30min to play and then im out for the day. A lot of times people will join even if they do not meet requirements stated in message. They will get kicked and they will come to these boards and whine about it. Who is rude me or them? I was polite to say who i want to play with this time, they ignored it.
TLDR It’s not that people don’t want to take lvl 35 players in their group. It’s just that with lvl 80s only group probability of a smooth run is much bigger. So people with limited time don’t want to take some unknown to possibly waste the time they could spend doing what they like.
First of all it depends on the thief, his skill and build.
I’ve seen many thieves in my parties and I can say most of them are just plain simple bad.
Sometimes I join a party with a thief that does huge dps and is competent enough to not die. Most times though I will join a party and a thief will die all the time or just go and use bow.
I know it’s probably true for most classes but thief is a king here. To play thief you have to dodge a lot, which means enough experience to notice all the clues.
IMO thief is rather hard to play well but when you do every party will notice how much you’re helping them.
new dungeon means new weapons/armors, all dungeons have unique skins so why not this one
just seriously hope they won’t do it the fractal way, where you have to do 200 fractal dailies to get the skin you want
I do not understand why so meany people whine about coe being ‘not fun’ or ‘too kitty hard’. Yesterday was the first time i’ve done it and i have to say all 3 paths went pretty fast (not cof1 fast, but not se slow) and easy. I wasn’t doing it in speed groups or whatever, just some pugs (4 groups). Basicly if you know your class, you can rez and dodge you will be doing well there.
And after 4 runs i had 4 charged cores so i consider it not that bad a reward too.
Also try not to compare dungeons to cof p1. If you want to make some gold go for cof1, if you want to have actual fun playing a game go do some other dungeons (and yeah you never know with pugs).

that’s the link, hopefully they won’t back off
this is guild wars – we, the people, want more guild stuff
Why don’t you consider the fun from running fractals. You all say that the rewards are bad, and rewards are bad and on top of that the rewards are even worse… It’s a game so have fun. And if you want the virtual cash do dragons or cof p1 farms. Also rares are not the only thing you get from fractals, did you consider the cost of mats.
I completely agree, if you play pvp in mmo you still want something from it for your toon. I would be ok with some skins or dyes or a mini. I will probably play pvp because i like to beat all those that say necro is weak but if i had something more than just satisfaction it would be really cool.
Yeah, people don’t play pvp because of music in mists…
Poor attempt at trolling i hope…
