I’ve been having issues with Guild Wars 2 now for a few months now. Starting back when there were the several DDoS attacks I think. My internet isn’t the greatest by far, but I’ve never had issues with connectivity till after that point in time (and it’s literally only GW2, all my other games have no issues with latency at all). I’ve always been able to play this game with 50-200 ping, the higher of that being in blobby WvW moments. My ping was completely sporadic. I contacted my ISP several times and was sent a new modem, had techs inspect the wiring at my house (which was built ground up 2 years ago so all new wiring to and from the street) and nothing out of the ordinary was found.
For the last week and a half my ping had improved greatly and I was really appreciating being able to actually enjoy the game. I changed nothing at all whatsoever on my end of things. Tonight though the game was completely unplayable for me. I was running PingPlotter and it was showing 0-3% packet loss from my hops 1-8, then 9 is when the hops go over to NCSoft’s side. All hops from 9-14 show anywhere from 5-30% packet loss at random intervals. Tested on guildwars2.com and several in-game IPs. All which had packet loss. In-game was showing me at 50-100 ping, but characters were stuttering and porting about like I had 500+ ping. Hoping tomorrow will be better.
I too have been having packet loss issues, the worst of it being after the patch for the last living story. Several friends and guildies have also complained of having unexplainable latency issues as of recent. Without the use of a VPN the game is completely unplayable, sitting at 700~ ping average. Swapping to my VPN lowers it to 200~ average still with massive lag spikes ranging from 1-5k intermittently. I never had issues with connectivity to the game until a couple of months ago now and it has just steadily been getting worse. It’s incredibly frustrating. At this point I just deal and play the game hoping things will improve eventually. Not much else I can do on my end of things. :/
Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread to share my hobby of taking and editing in-game screenshots! The main GW2 screenie thread seemed to rarely be used and I suppose this way it’ll be a way to find my posts specifically.
Editing screenshots has a been a hobby of mine now for well over a year. I find it to be quite relaxing and fun. Guild Wars 2 is such a beautiful game and I enjoy being able to showcase that with screenshots! I do have a Tumblr, but I honestly just don’t use it. I mainly post on my Instagram account which can be found here.
I would also like an update on the guild hall hardcap. Our guild hall is approaching the aforementioned softcap of 64.6, but there has been no response from the Dev side of things for over a month. Is the content for reaching level 80 even ready to go live within the next few weeks or is any information being kept underwraps because they’re not finished? I’m certain we’re not the only guild wanting answers on this topic.
There weren’t many videos on Astralaria that I could find so I decided to make one up real quick last night! Sorry if it’s too long or a bit boring, I was just so excited to craft this legendary and wanted to share with everyone!
I finished crafting Astralaria on 12.8.15, it cost me somewhere around 2.4k gold. I didn’t keep track that well but that number sounds pretty accurate.
I am worried as well about the Meteorite Ingots. I didn’t expect to have this legendary day 1, but I definitely didn’t expect it to take months just for The Mechanism. I had saved thousands of gold and mats before HoT launch to be ready for when I was going to be able to craft this. Yes I could have prepared better and charged Quartz daily, but the thought honestly didn’t occur to me. Meteorite Ingots will be the only thing holding me back from creating Astralaria, I have everything else done. Would like to hear some feedback from some Devs about this maybe, or see some hopeful news in the patch notes tomorrow.
Having the “Card approval failed” message. Used the same Visa for several other purchases. No problems with the bank account either. I’ve only used three different cards on my GW2 account, including said Visa. Hoping this gets resolved soon.

My issue was resolved in less than 24 hrs. Very happy customer here. The problem was too many purchases within a short period restrict your account. Bought myself enough gems to last a few months just in case this happened again (though after these purchases it probably got restricted again, lol). Thank you for the quick resolution of my issue!
