Reduce costs of waypoint teleporting in WvW. In PvE, I can understand, and losses can be easily remade by doing one or two events. However when you are on the losing side, and spending half your WvW time rezzing and trying to get back to the latest battle, on top of that paying the fees for armor repair, I end up spending half my money on that and then I’ll have to leave to make it all back.
I’d spend more time in WvW if it wasn’t such a burn on my wallet.
I understand that certain characters just don’t render to reduce lag, but with the events spawning that makes the game impossible to play.
Because these events only happen in one place, you have half the server spawning in to a low level zone makes it impossible for half of us to even see what we are fighting, thus we cannot contribute, and do not get any contribution score.
Either make several events happen at once to spread the population around, or…something to reduce how many people take part in one event.
Because those items were meant for beginners, you know, for level 1 players where those numbers feel bigger.
But yeah, for players who upgrade, the bonus items that come with should have a scale up for veteran players.
I realize that we are applying logic to a world of magic and endless arrow quivers, but seriously, fans? I know some could be used as weapons, but those were intended for unprotected targets. Try hitting bear with a block of hardened wood and some hardened metal. All you’ll do is piss it off.
If there ever is a Canthan expansion, best to stick to the stuff known to work:
1-handed swords- katanas
2 handed swords- Zanbaodao
Oh and Monk Spades. Gotta have monk spades somewhere.
Still does not tackle balance issues…
Two handed Axe weapons. Hey they exist, so why not.
Okay getting serious. Arguments why wizard is a bad idea, or at least the one proposed by Nekroseth.
1)No weapons:Already that’s a no no. All classes need to use something as a means of enhancing their stats, and provide the basic skill set. That’s how the game mechanics work. To make a class that can do as well as other classes that require weapons puts them at an unfair advantage over those that do need them, meaning they don’t have to waste time and money looking for better weapons to enhance their abilities. Likewise, the wizards are also disadvantaged by the fact that without those extra stats that comes with weapons, they do not have the same capability as other classes during PvP.
2) Balance: If you fix this by upping their stats, then that throws any semblance of balance out the window. Everyone will have a wizard if it comes out, because it is new. Many will stick to it if it has upped stats because that gives them an edge. I saw that happen in Warhammer Online with Bright Wizards, I’d rather not see it happen here.
ele + necro = wizard…
ele + mesmer = wizard
ele+mesmer+necro+guardian+ranger=wizard.
wizard=wizard
Wow this thread is going to weird places real fast.
There is a big difference between ‘Wizards’ and other magic users in Guild Wars.
They are really, old. Really, really, really old. Probably smell bad too.
They are reminiscent of both the Romans and the Mongols, so mine have a name that mixes the two.
Wow, just stumbled on this thread and I gotta say this is starting to get derailed.
As to how I feel about game marriages? I dunno, some games make it work, some games don’t. For something as casual as GW2, I think it would make a nice gimmick or something, but probably with like some game NPCs or something as a Valentine’s Day feature or something. I dunno, I think that a marriage between player characters kinda adds an extra layer of commitment to the game, and this is not the sort of game that really demands commitment, more like just a nice visit every now and then.
Eh I’m rambling again.
A lot of times, I wind up going through dungeons with total strangers, and they are actually pretty good at it. I’d like to be able to play through another one with them, but there are time either because of a crash, or I simply forgot to add them to my friends, I can’t find them anymore. I was wondering if it is at all possible to have a tab, maybe on the friends list that keeps track of all the players you were with for say the last three instances, so you can keep track of them in case they aren’t on the friends list.

How is it possible for a race that doesn’t have 10 anything to have a base 10 system?
I mean the only reason humans have that is because we had 10 digits on our hands and feet. If we had 8, we’d be using a base 8 system.
And I don’t even want to get into their computer programming. You can have binary easy, but then on top of that you can put hexadecimal, and on top of that your typical programming language, and on top of that you have your basic programs that come together to make an operating system. That is a whole other field I do not want to even think about. I’m struggling with C++ as it is.
No, but it sounds like some sort of gimmick that can be used during Valentine’s Day.
Maybe with NPCs or something for a perk/buff/whatever. That seems a lot easier to implement than inter-player marriage.
But then again I don’t know much about MMO programming, I’m making this stuff off the top of my head.
Well just some unique gear in general.
I remember back when I played Warhammer Online, one of the holiday events was Keg End, and they offered a gear item called the Battle Brew Backpack. I managed to find one, and 3 years later, it was still in high demand. Just having some holiday unique gear would make for some real good turn out.
While I’m at it, you should also try to spread the holiday events apart. Lion’s Arch was packed, and my computer actually slowed down as it tried to load all the players in the main square.
Does it use a base 8 system? Or a base 6? I mean they have 8 fingers but 6 toes so I’m confused.
Yeah I have too much time on my hands for this.
Emo hair? There isn’t enough cosmetic supplies in all of Tyria…
Maybe it’s because I am tired right now but I have no idea what you wrote. What?
Eh no, Orr is far gone, anything left corrupted beyond recognition into some Cthulhu-esque nightmare stick. Besides, I like the Cthulhu-esque nightmare stick more than some shiny god stick.
I have to agree with OP, something about t3 needs to change. Either price or stats, because as it stands, the payoff isn’t that much. I like the look of my Human’s t3 armor, but I beyond that, I don’t have much motivation to wear it, or even get it.
While this would indeed make it feel epic, this would kind of kill the next 70 levels of the game, since that’s basically giving them a taste of what the endgame dragon fights will look like. And knowing the ending before reaching it kills the drive the attain it.
This was something that was employed in Warhammer Online that I and many players found helpful. Having a separate tab in the inventory to hold any token currencies we get, be they badges of honor, or PvE dungeon tokens. This would free up space in our regular inventory, and let us keep close tab on our token count so that we would waste time going to a bank, taking the tokens and bringing them to a vendor, only to realize, we don’t have enough.
I think one of the reasons of adding a quiver, even if it is only cosmetic, will probably clip with the character’s armor, especially in later levels as it becomes more exotic looking.
Heck my warrior’s shield clips through his back and pauldrons, and it just looks odd.
Well that is an interesting thought. Though this might also be exploited as a means of bypassing a lot of enemy mobs…
