you are a skilled person,
but tempest still looks like a downgrade to ele..
this very stupid self interrupt HAS TO GONE.we need small changes @ anet:
1) overloading 4 sec -> 3 sec
2) while overloading -> you can swich attunement without self interrupting
3) Harmonious Conduit -> baseline
4) recharge 20 sec -> 15 secThank you @ anet!
I actually like these changes and feel like they are more than doable.
Tablet is a great skill and works excellent when you swap it out for glint/shiro.
I’ve felt the same way. I don’t like not having any slot skill variety, makes every revenant play the same and feel standard.
I, like many users here, have my fair share of issues with tempest. Instead of listing and describing them, I’ll leave that to the people who do a much better job at it. Instead I just want to know if ANet is truly happy with how tempest currently stands and its role. It seems like the devs were being fairly active on all the other class boards working to accommodate some changes the community wanted, but when you come to the elementalist board it’s quiet. ANet was pretty active in making some tweaks to the druid, fine tuning reaper, and even berserker since HoT’s release. So I just want to know ANet, are you happy with tempest and what it delivers or are you listening to the community and considering some tweaks?

Hello I would like to discuss about the recent feature pack from my perspective as a somewhat new player.
I’ll start with a little background info. I purchased this game quickly after building my own PC in mid October of last year. I created a mesmer and got to level 14 before giving up. I didn’t stop playing because I disliked the game, I just stopped playing because having just built a gaming PC I had many more games to play. fast forward to February where I decide to pick the game back up again. I start playing more frequently and even decide to purchase a few gems for some neat items. I had gotten my mesmer to level 60 and was really starting to get a grasp for some of the core dungeon mechanics and how the game played out. After reaching my mesmer to level 69 I had gotten bored with it and decided to branch out and try leveling other classes. I decided to pick up elementalist and leveled it to 42 before deciding to stop again. With the latest feature pack I decided to give it another go, this time making a necromancer since being a bit bored with mesmer and elementalist and just not finding the one class I yet wanted to call my “main”. So far I have leveled the necromancer to level 30 and have found it incredibly boring. The new trait system makes my character feel very weak, and adds little to no diversity to the class until you hit level 36. In the previous trait system, I would have already unlocked my first trait to start giving me a small edge in open world. 1 trait isn’t a whole lot, but it feels good. Now going back to when my mesmer first hit 60, I felt a good sense of accomplishment and character development. By then my mesmer had already enough traits to add diversity to my playstyle and add new fun perks to kill mobs in the open world. Now with my necromancer being level 30, I don’t feel anything really. I unlocked a passive and that’s it. very underwhelming, and it makes the first 30 levels of the game feel relatively THE SAME seeing as how you unlock all your weapon skills and the majority of your traits by then. I don’t need to level any further than 30 to know that I already do not like this system and that I will not continue to play. You no longer feel a sense of character development, because not only are trait points gapped out too far, but even once you unlock the slot you’re going to have to complete some map before you can even use the trait you want. What’s worse is that some of these objectives require you to be a much higher level. I am not posting to rage or make people feel sorry for me, I am posting my opinion simply because I care. I care because I really like this game, even though I was still a noob and never experienced the end game and having a level 80 character, it was still a very good MMO that I enjoyed playing casually. I just can’t justify playing anymore making alts because the new trait system was done extremely poorly. I look forward to and hope they make some heavy changes to the current system, or better yet just fully revert it but until then I think there are plenty of other video games that can have my attention right now.
