My build is the D/D elementalist. I guess it’s close to the meta, but I have made a few changes here and there in order to optimize it for my kind of play.
Here is a link to the build:

For traits I went 00266. Of course full Arcana is still the best trait line for every D/D spec. The Water trait line is centered on cleansing and regeneration with the adept II trait, which gives regeneration every time someone lands a crit on you.
The last 2 points can be spend elsewhere. I chose Earth for the added toughness of the trait line and the minor trait which synergizes well with the adept point I – 290 toughness for every channeling skill (Drake’s breath, Cone of cold, Churning earth) which are all on relatively small cooldowns. The reason I prefer it instead of V is because if you are running with other people protection isn’t something that will be lacking as a boon. (Also you can get some extra defense while healing with water 2)
On the gear: In PvP and WvW I go full celestial. The overall stat gain is a very great thing to have and I find the added healing power and condition damage to be better than the stats lost from running Knights/Zerker/Soldier etc.
For some people who have problems doing full celestial gear or feel like they don’t want to loose as much power/vitality/precision then you can swap some of the celestial peaces for other stat combinations to mix it up.
For the skills I went full cantrips. I used to run arcane shield instead of cleansing fire, but the unreasonably long cooldown and the fact that there are a lot of condi specs out there made me go for cleansing fire. The healing skill is signet of restoration which has the best synergy with d/d ele because of evasive arcana and attunement swapping (both giving heal per cast) coupled with the endless skill usage and scaling (although not much) with healing power providing a lot of sustain during fights.
If you are able to recognize skill animations and dodge, use terrain, focus the highest priority target first, then you will have no problems in most to every fight you will have.
Last but not least, runes and sigils: I got runes of strength for the obvious might duration. If you can not afford them then the cheaper solution is rune of ogre which despite not having might duration is basically the same. As for sigils its obviously sigil of battle which goes along nicely with runes of strength + sigil of doom for poison. Its not a condition which would be expected from an elementalist and the healing mitigation on the enemy is very nice.

Please fix the machines at clockheart boss.

I absolutely agree. It was confusing and sometimes unbearable since its not that easy to always avoid them. It usually isn’t that big of a problem but when you have holograms spawn next to them and you need those for the fight , it kind of screws you over.

Tequatl nerf is inevitable

I am one of the people who think this encounter is fine if they put it as a raid in an instance but not in open world where we rely on to many random factors.

I’ve seen countless posts now saying;

“it’s fine, don’t nerf it”
“l2p instead of spamming 1”
“we need hard content”

As I have beaten liadri and sab trib mode, I love hard content aswell but you will have to realize that if this encounter is not tuned down, soon nobody will be able to enjoy it at all.

It is made for 80 people who are fully geared and prepared, meaning that unless you are in one of the few active WvW guilds, you have no chance to gather this many. Most servers can’t even collect 80 people on TS3 for that matter.

“But all the bad people will stop coming to teq, only the good will be left” or “They will learn how to deal with this encounter.”

Wrong, in two weeks we will get new living story content which will be the major focus, along with holiday events soon and the WvW leagues, meaning that most people will be occupied with other content rather than camping teq for days on end, hoping to finally beat him after their 50th attempt.

The two servers that beat it did a great job, however they are now still failing the event aswell due to all the guests, meaning that if they ever want to obtain the title, they have to re-do what they did today, atleast a few more times for every person. Do you really think they will or are able to do this? Not with the new amount of guests flooding these servers now.

The sad reality is that it has to be nerfed considerably to make it real longterm content.

We’ve seen it before with Karka Queen and the Aetherblade Jumping Puzzle (people said the same about not changing the puzzle, well it’s completely deserted now).

I personally hope that they will make proper adjustments to this encounter and build this current version into an instance where people can enter with entire guilds to enjoy this content without relying on so many random factors from the open world (Guild Raids).

I don’t think this could have been put more accurate.I was very excited about this event , but i guess people won’t change their ways (referencing to the people who spam auto attack while they are afk , people who are generally away and are scaling the boss, the 10-20 people dead on the ground waiting for resurrection which also scales the boss, it takes no more than 1 or 2 people that can’t work with the turret to screw it up.)It led me to the point where every time i see people trying to make a strategy, i rage quit. The changes are good , but the community isn’t (especially since this game was promoted as casual) and i am all for moving this event into a raid instance or giving us more time so that mistakes can be made.

Don't nerf the dragon, nerf the timer.

I loved the fight. Loved the idea. Loved the improvements. But i agree that the timer is too short for the changes in his health. I see people on the forums saying that they shouldn’t nerf it in any way and that they like the difficulty.. In the long term they are going to filter into the people who simply get kitten ed of at the event and stop doing it entirely. I haven’t missed Tequatl since i entered and we never managed to drop him under 70% no matter which overflow i entered. If they don’t nerf it they need to move him somewhere else or do something so that the afk turret players and the white/blue geared have a chance/shouldn’t be allowed to do it. Still i’m all for the chance of failing but not in a norm that is impossible unless you meet some perfect requirements that are impossible in a game promoted as casual.
