My finisher keeps getting reset quite often, right in the middle of a play session too. One stomp will have the finisher I have selected, the next will be the default spike.

The salty thieves are my favourite. I have never had so many whispers with helpful advice after killing someone! It’s either a whisper or an ALT-F4 that thieves respond with.

I try not to have any other connection heavy processes going while I game. I am connected via WiFi however and am wondering if there is something internal to my own network that is causing the weird latency.

I have thought about throttling, but the speedtests I run when it occurs do not suggest that the ISP is doing that.

Abilities seem to trigger appropriately when the lag occurs, but I do tend to rubberband a bit when it’s REALLY bad. Mostly, it just seems like my character just isn’t quite where the game servers think he is.

Not sure how to explain this exactly, but it appears to me that the client on my PC and the Server are not quite in sync a lot of the time. The two sides seem to think my character is in a slightly different spot than it appears to me.

This shows itself in a few different ways:

- Suddenly death that not one is able to revive me from. I think this occurs when the server things I have fallen to my death, but on my screen I am in a completely safe spot.

- Unable to connect with abilities, especially in WvW. The big examples of this are unable to get a backstab on a thief to hit even when I am standing in someone. Eviscerates on Warrior that hit nothing even though the animation goes right through my target.

- Wells from my Necro appear beside where I am standing.

I do a ping to the IP listed in /ip and latency seems normal. I have a decent connection so my internet doesn’t seem to be the problem. FPS seems quite solid with the occasional dip to the 20s when zergs are on my screen. I am not sure what else to try to make this work better. It makes the more finesse characters almost impossible to play and I have to rely on targeted ranged attacks or just cleaving at things hoping it hits and I don’t suddenly keel over and die.

Would LOVE this.

Just got this yesterday and while I do love how it looks, it IS understated. My favourite response so far has been ‘oh? what skin is that – i think i like your old one better’ when I replaced my Braham’s shield with this.

It’s a very, very good looking shield but it IS a very plain looking Legendary, which is ok to some.

Rank 440 and have gotten one Ascended armour box (stats I don’t use) and three rings.

Truthfully however I do not mind runners. Normally just emoting /laugh will shame them enough to return and fight. What I hate are the lame ALT F4’ers that just cannot bear to be stomped, especially those that initiate the fight and then lose it. I was in the process of taking out a sentry point a couple days back with my Ranger when I was jumped by a hammer warrior. After downing him he immediately AlT F4’d out to avoid the stomp. If you have the nerve to attack someone then by all means take it like a man and don’t wimp out when you lose.

^^ This. It’s like a double a victory though, when you can beat someone so bad that they ALT F4 in a hissy fit. It always seems to be someone who instigated a fight that does it, rarely have I ever started a battle that ended in an ALT F4.

Having said that, I have accidentally quit the game when trying to run. Too many ESC to clear target that brings up the game menu and out of habit I click to exit the game instead of just closing the window. That’ll make you feel pretty dumb.

I’ll run if I have a bunch of abilities on cooldown or to reset a fight in a spot of MY choosing. Especially when surprised, getting a little room to see what you are up against makes the difference between winning and losing the fight.

Plus, running annoys the other person so much which is its own sort of fun.

As a roamer, I will jump in on any fight I see. I stay away from typical ‘dueling’ spots like behind the Windmill or in OS, but everywhere else is fair game. I got kittened out for wrecking a duel right outside of SMC and feel that there is a TON of places you can go if you want to do that. It’s pretty easy to group with the other person and decide to get out of the way for your fights.

So to answer the question, the correct answer is ‘B’.

I also get where the ability icon triggers but nothing happens. I just keep running around and Earthshaker goes on cooldown.

The fact that you came to the forums to complain means that it was mission accomplished for whoever it was doing the emotes.

This is where the unfortunate side effect comes in. Its the weapon set you are using (the one you are actively using and it’s swap if you have one) that have to have bloodlust to retain the stack. When you go underwater you are now actively using the underwater weapons. If they don’t have bloodlust, you lose the stack.

Now if someone can come up with another theory about why they put this change in with the other balancing changes, I would be interested to read it.

Going to underwater weapons is no different from swapping to your second set of weapons, changing attunements or swapping kits. The equivalent to this is if you lost your stacks whenever you switched weapons to one without the ‘on kill’ sigil. How you can’t see the difference between losing stacks by unequipping and losing stacks by just swapping weapon sets is baffling to me.

This is a bug, plain and simple.

Curious- have you looked at map chat to see what did the damage to you? It should say you were hit for X damage by whatever did it.

Nope, no damage whatsoever. I imagine it’s a desync issue , but unsure how to go about checking on why it keeps happening.

So, I hope I am putting this in the right forum.

The bug is this: I will be walking around, nobody around and nothing that could damage me is apparent – suddenly I will be insta-killed. No damage numbers, nothing. I am just suddenly dead.

This happens across all my characters too, and at different points. It mostly happens in WvW, but I think this is more of a perception thing since that is where I spend most of my in-game time.

Nobody is able to rez me, they don’t get an error message it just does not allow them to select me. I am always forced to waypoint and run back to where ever I was.

Has this happened to anyone else? It has happened about a dozen times to me.

I’ve played these games long enough that emotes don’t bother me any more, but the siege thing confused me.

All cleared up now, I will now know the appropriate amount of rage to feel when an obviously larger group kills me and throws some.

The throwing siege always confuses me – is it an insult or an honor? Someone please tell me, I don’t know how to react and I feel I am probably disappointing someone by laughing when it happens.

With HoD suffering a great lost with Devon being out of the forum games for 3 weeks due to excessive “Yo mama” jokes. The HoD forum warriors struggled to match their dominance on the WvW scene. With the return of Devon tonight at midnight, will there be a revamped forum wars for next week?! Who knows?!

The biggest forum competition seemed to come from the one and only Narsil, who single handled wracked up: 40 posts! With five double posts! One triple. And the legendary quintuplet post! And there is still time to get more in. Though it does seem many people seem to skip over Narsil’s posts because of the spam. As seen by Silas Drake: “I honestly don’t read anything you post… so (I know I’m a jerk).” Even though the lack of reading going towards Narsil’s post this seems to be the biggest competition for Devon, seeing as Narsil has not figured out there is indeed an edit button for posts. Will Narsil’s forum spam match Devon’s Yo Mama jokes? Stay tuned for next weeks episode of: “The Clash of the Trolls: Episode 87”

Next we look upon [Deth] after calling out a number of guilds on reset night for their relentless T0 Blobbing (Yes, this is a GREATER number of people in T1 blobs). [Deth] has failed to show or respond in the GvGs they called for. Has [Deth] fallen from grace when they were once a dominate force in the GvGs in the lower tiers? Have they recruited to many PvErs? Questions that only they can answer.

[MU] is our next topic of discussion. With the 80 man [MU] zerging upscales and ambient creatures. Can anyone put a stop to them?! [CoSA] had the best approach of power rezing like a bunch of pros. There recent post of the video titled “Zombies” led to a debate in the thread about having skill compared to SPAM 1 HARDER FOOLZ, sorry about that I got carried away. [MU] has definitely made an impact on HoD’s WvW scene and will hopefully stay for the long run.

The lack of fireworks from the one and only Taco Thief is also up in the air. Has the sky rocketing prices of fireworks finally reached his purse? Or has the constant T0 zeros from HoD darkened out the sky covering them? Either way it is a sad disappointment that there was a lack of fireworks though out this match.

We shall now hit up the conspiracy theory rolling around the Bronze League, led by the one and only Styx of GoM. Though I have heard though the grape vine and weeds. That HoD has planed this fall or dive to Bronze League since the start of TA. Yes, you heard correct the famous Titan’s Alliance. The TA was hidden in the shadows to prepare for the Bronze League so HoD could sweep the competition. As HoD slowly unveils TA to the Bronze League will the infamous Buygate be able to compete as HoD pulls a Kaineng and moves up to T1 in a matter of days. Keep on following HoD to find out! Will Styx uncover the real secrets hidden since the start of the game? Or will he crash and burn as new forum warriors appear and push him aside like a solo upscale ranger in WvW.

The outburst of the week goes to: QuickLime! I know why. You know why. He knows why. Hell, Anet knows why. Though an apology was quickly written and put up. Regardless of being forced or if by own will. Let’s give him a round of applause for having the balls to admit he was wrong. Since we know 3/4ths of you wouldn’t. We hope he can deal with his real life problems and get back to the forum waring and upscale killing in a timely fashion.

We leave the best for last! The discussion of [Yarr]! They temporarily transferred to HoD to kill spawn farm SF and kill their fellow FC. Lets give them some love. A guild that HoD loves regardless of who they fight for. In recent news, [Yarr] called out [Deth] (the GvG dodgers) for a GvG. It is safe to assume we all know the outcome of that. [Deth] spent no time saving their dodges and double dodged out of there! [Yarr] will be missed on HoD and are wished the best of luck returning to FC.

Having played these games long enough, emotes don’t bother me. I sometimes don’t understand them, like when you have a really nice long fight with a group and get /laughed at afterwards, but overall who cares? I just assume the people that /laugh tend to be the ones that aren’t very good so they don’t get a chance to do that very often.

We didnt spill into anywhere. We had a group of ~20-25 running with us as well as ~2-4 sentries letting us know where SF mobs were.

You’ve been in bronze league enough, I’m gonna do away with this misconception. You’re one of the biggest groups that any WvW guild in this league can field.

For example, if you see any group of 15+ on Gate of Madness, it’s a pick up group. If you see any guild that is 15+, it’s not even PvX, it’s a PvE guild.

This is a really good point about GoM – [ASH] and [RH] are the closest we get to a WvW guild (not to discount the other WvW guilds we have, but they don’t have the same presense) and they almost always encourage everyone to run with them. Our groups of 15-20 are pretty consistently a pickup group that inevitably has a large portion not in our TS and unable to follow simple commands. I don’t know how some of the good Commander’s do it, it’s like herding cats out there some days.

We didn’t really have a hope in Hell this week, and the score is showing that – but I think we managed to be somewhat respectable in our fights. Monday morning, GoM was the first one to get their BL back from HoD which lasted all of about 30 minutes before the Zerg came back and we had to do it again – but we did. We just do not have the numbers to compete on a server vs. server level, but I think our groups held their own quite well all week.

I know I learned a lot this past weekend and hopefully going forward that helps me and my little crew out.

Screens or it didn’t happen! All kidding aside, I highly doubt that you have been outnumbered 10% of the time. Our 20 -30 man groups just outplay your 20-30-40+man groups.

I have an issue, which seems to be WvW only, where if I right-click someone’s name it only gives me the option to ‘Report’.

Because of this I am unable to whisper or invite to a group. The full right-click context menu is missing. In order to invite to group I have to type their full name (capitalization counts!) and can initiate a whisper by double clicking a name in my Friends or Guild list.

Seriously cannot remember ever seeing GoM throw out the numbers like we did this weekend. I also took a ton of time off from the game and am just returning within the last couple of months. We are just now getting out consistently to WvW, so what I observe might not be entirely correct.

I wonder what will happen once the PvE’ers get their achievements. I know we are in the lead now, but I would not be surprised to see that diminish as the week goes on. It’ll also be interesting to see what happens when we go up against servers that will be able to throw out similar numbers.

I am partially colour blind so for the most part this is not an issue in game for me – except for one small thing. Names.

I find it extremely difficult to pick out the red names of enemies, whether it’s PvE or WvW – especially during any sort of fight that has a large number of spell effects going off. I tend to put the target reticle over bosses or enemies in a group, because it’s the only way for me to even have a slight chance to see them.

My suggestion is an option to be able to change the colour of names. It would be a huge benefit to be able to set my own colour options in the menu so that I can pick a colour that does stand out for me, one that I would be able to see no matter the situation.
