I agree with the OP.
1. Event mobs on the move should be green instead of invulnerable. Why do i get shot at when I am standing on a ledge, but I cannot shot ’em?? Please teach them to jump or find the way around obstacles. Only if there is really no possibility to reach each other in melee combat, mobs should be invulnerable.

2. Port fees are killing the fun for most of the people, everone is avoiding this “gold sink”. Please invent some nice skins, colors or other really optional features for this purpose.

3. Yes and no. There is a need for a solution that you can run through lower level zones without getting attacked, since there are no mob free ways. Let the higher level player decide if he wants to play – then the downscaling is ok imho. If not, everything should be just green – no attack on both sides possible. It is quite annoying when I get frozen by some ignored mob while I just wanted to run through and wasted a swiftness skill.

4. Though there are improvements, the still existing problems should not stay this way at the expense of the players who just want to complete the map. Implement a timeout/reset, that way you can easily track problems according to the account of timeouts too, so you can work on a real fix.

5. Imho this is more a concern of balancing. To me events seem often too hard if there are only one or few players, while they are often trivial with a lot of players. They should always be challenging, but doable.
There are exceptions, though (Metrica province: group event Destroy the fire elemental – usually i just see a hall full of dead players).

6. Traits, I don’t see why there are costs. And to all who say try them in the mists – well you cannot try them that way in PvE/Dungeons, so what.

7. Respawn rates – I have seen this problem sometimes in narrow environments with a high mob population. Again this seems to me more a question of balancing: packed areas need lower respawn rates.

8. Yes please. Best would be to implement first person view. Alternatively render all objects between camera and toon transparent while near a vista.

Vanguard has a so called riftway system with costs depending on the location level. costs are quite moderate though, afaik. And there are alternatives like ships and mounts for traveling.
And players had some port abilities and movement speedup spells/songs.

that could be possible if they implemented housing (well not for gems of course, but for ingame gold like the commander book) or other exclusive status symbols.

gold sinks are exclusive optional features like the commander book for 100g. The Waypoint fees are just ridiculous, so everyone avoids them if possible and your “gold sink” is not working. Just kills fun and social gaming, since there is no other form of travel.

Implement some other form of gold sink like mounts or housing and let the players travel for free where they have explored already.

I’d like to see mounts in the game.
Come on, there are already centaurs, dolyaks, wheel carts and the charr vehicles.

Waypoint costs have to go.

Remove waypoint and repair costs! At least reduce these to a level that players will actually use them. Right now they are an annoyance which everyone avoids whenever possible.

  • One free port in every region maybe after doing a special heart quest. If that is a taboo, implement mounts with a fixed cost and let us port free after death.
  • Drop less amount of valuable items - economy is flooded with valuable items since everyone finds more than he needs for himself (and his twinks). AH prices are nearly always at minimum, and crafting is quite useless.
  • Option to reduce/disable spell effect intensity - sometimes you cannot see anything important anymore.
  • free positioning of weapon skills 1..5 - it’s confusing to adapt after switching if your AoE/jump/escape skills are always on other hotkeys.
  • customizable sounds for chat channels
  • Option for a continuous log file with chat and combat output for each character
  • 1st person view per max zoom in, higher FoV
  • more character customization options and some more drastic different statures and faces

Character Creation feels unfinished

I agree 100 percent. The options are too limited and it is quite hard to identify with your toon if you cannot personalize them how you think he/she should look. e.g. Norn males are all fat giants and human males delicate weaklings. And of course only western faces. You can see in Aion that this request is in no way unrealistic. There you already have more than 50 faces and hair styles (even if some look just too weird for me).

And to those who say wait for future updates – This is one genre defining feature of a RPG and should have been fully developed from the start. Later you will probably have no more choice to customize your existing chars (or only for some form of money). Your friends will expect the familiar look of your char and you have your avatar and screenshot pics of them, so you won’t probably change them much in this case.

A pity!
