So I’m sure for anyone reading the suggestions forum, you have seen the guild suggestion threads on every 2nd page.
While there are a lot, I’ve seen that most of them either don’t explain anything well enough or in enough detail.
Guild Interface
1. Last Online – It has been said a million times before and is pretty much standard in every single MMO since the dawn of time. There needs to be a column to see when someone was last online. It is impossible to see when someone was last online at the moment. There are some workarounds like promoting people off of an “Inactive” rank when you see them online, but ultimately you are going to miss a few people in a large guild.
2. Representation – A followup to number 1. It would be nice to see how much someone has represented your guild or even when someone last represented. What is the point in having someone in your guild if they never represent? The multiple guild system has many advantages for using guild for different areas of GW2, but it barely promotes guild unity and loyalty at all.
3. Influence Earned – A followup to number 2. It would also be nice to see how much someone has earned so you can reward them with promotions etc.
4. Character Name – Some people have completely different character names to their account name. Only their account name is shown when they are offline. If it could show their last online character that would be helpful in identifying people.
5. Member Notes – Sometimes it is nice to have member/officer notes on a person to show specific things. GW2 has a nice way of showing class/level/profession already which is great, although some things you may want to note on a certain person. If they did well leading something and possibly be promoted, if they did something bad and you put a warning on their notes. Again, not a necessary addition but it is sometimes nice to have.
6. Interface – Obviously no one wants some big bumbling interface to show all this information. Clicking individual members for more information is a bit redundant except for things like notes. Maybe a sideways scroll bar on the guild window and a way to rearrange the columns how you want. Would obviously scale if you increase the width of the window.
7. Officer Chat Great in-game form of communication for the specified ranks that can use it without prying eyes being able to see the discussion. Not necessary but does make things a bit easier on organisation and discussion.
8. Alliance – This has been a feature in a fair few MMO-type games and I’m sure most of you are familiar with it. Basically it allows multiple guilds to be part of an alliance, generally with one guild as leader. It provides an Alliance chat which helps with smaller guilds that may not have enough members interested in groups etc. It isn’t a necessary addition, but would be useful nevertheless.
8. Invite Permissions – For some reason, to invite to a guild you need to have the permission that lets you have kicking powers over every single rank below your current rank. They should definitely be split up into 2 separate permissions. This is a no brainer as I really don’t want some of my ranks that have copious amounts of members on them to be able to have that power.
9. Notifications – There are no notifications for guilds in GW2. Zero. It is impossible to know when something changes in guild. Message of the Day should pop up at login in chat and also when it is updated. Login/logout notifications might be a bit overkill for large guilds, possibly having an option for turning this on/off. Notifications for when a player joins a guild are really helpful in helping someone feel welcome straight off the back from people automatically replying with “welcome” or some similar message. The same is the case for leaving/kicking people from the guild. Notifications for boosts going up/going down would be good for morale too.
10. MotD Text Editor – Lets face it. It is currently horrible. It clumps all the text up in that small window. Not only that, it makes you rewrite it the entire thing every time you click edit. A larger editor around the same size as the actual display of the MotD and a save feature would be perfect.
Got into WvW tonight after the patch today and the rendering for WvW was ridiculous. I could honestly see 1 person who was in my party. I couldn’t see ANYONE on my server and I couldn’t see ANYONE on their server. I turned graphics down to the lowest possible, no change. Apparently there were about 30 SBI players in front of the gate, and you can see the amount of IoJ players on the minimap.
I have an i7 930 @ 2.80GHz, GTX 560 and 6GB DDR3 RAM

Suggestion 1 would open it up to WAY too much trolling.
Suggestion 3 defeats the purpose of working towards that waypoint goal.
Suggestion 2 is a really good idea. Storing it up for only the workers to use would be a really nice fix. Probably wouldn’t go over 50% of the incoming supply is stored. Would also probably need a pause functionality if supply is needed for defense or w/e
Create a few min window to get back in WVW after DC or game crash.

Yeh I agree, a disconnect period if you don’t manually leave the map. Kind of like the system in HoN but on a much larger scale.
I also can’t add anything to the queue.
After the patch yesterday, I came on today to see the guild influence boosts down for influence. I then activated them and… they disappeared completely. They aren’t in the list of boosts and they aren’t on the tooltip when I hover over the guild icon up the top left.
I definitely won’t be activating anything until this is fixed.
Server: Isle of Janthir
Guild: Unreal Aussies [uA]
I’m on Isle of Janthir in the current ET/IoJ/CD WvW matchup. We were on the CD borderlands tonight and IoJ owned the map. Towards the end of the night there was a group of ET mesmers and thieves that were able to get INSIDE the east keep’s inner walls without any of the outer or inner gates/walls being destroyed. I’m not exactly sure how he got up, but he used a mesmer portal underneath the west edge of the bridge leading to the inner keep. They then proceeded to bug the orb that we had there out and destroy the altar. The orb then reset while the newly formed ET zerg was hitting the west keep.
This same group then proceeded to do the exact same thing in the west keep. ET was pounding on the southern outer gate and it wasn’t yet down. We then saw the crossed swords over our keep lord. We quickly ran in and the keep lord was on about half health. They stealthed and ran off to the north inner gate (which I’m assuming they came in through as they came back in after we chased them off when their zerg hit the inner gate).
This really defeats the purpose of spending hours and lots of gold upgrading a structure when they can just bypass 95% of the fortifications.
History
Unreal Aussies [uA] is an established cross-game gaming community that has been around since 2004. We were formed as a melee clan with custom matches on the side in Warcraft 3. From there we progressed to Counter Strike 1.6 and Source playing in the Australian competition ladders of the time. Around this time, a few of us were playing Guild Wars Prophecies and vanilla World of Warcraft (we went back and played the other GW campaigns and EotN).
After finishing most of the content for these games at the time, we then went back to our shooters with Team Fortress 2. We had a community run TF2 server up for almost a year that had a great community behind it and was known as “the server” for just getting in there and having some laughs. After our long run in Team Fortress, we moved to Global Agenda, a game with fairly similar gameplay and classes. We continued to build our community, although GA didn’t offer much content, so we then moved on to Star Wars The Old Republic. After realising that the game was pretty much leveling, we left and waited for the long anticipated Guild Wars 2.
Playstyle
We pride ourselves on our vast community and the many playstyles that our members use. We have both a mixture of semi-hardcore and casual players that have been playing together for years and we are always looking for new members.
We want YOU
So are you a mature, fun, enthusiastic and sociable player? You may participate in the community as much as you wish, no one is forcing you to WvW every day for 6 hours. We will be hosting weekly events such as dungeons, sPvP and on most nights we will be fielding a WvW team.
So why should you pick us? We are continually building on our community and love having new members to have a laugh with. There are always people to talk to on Ventrilo and we have an almost constant 40-50+ people online in-game at ALL times, peaking at around 100. This is good for you so there are always people to group with. Our Guild Wars 2 division has almost 300 members and we are looking to hit the member cap with players that want that sense of community and contributing to a thing larger than themselves.
Send us a message on our forum or PM/mail one of the leaders in game (Nakid, Jelliott, Kingler or Bosl). We’re looking forward to you joining us.
Thankyou for reading this wall of text,
Nakid.
I’ve been using Elixir X in sPvP and have noticed that about half the time, the cooldown will start, but the the skill won’t have done anything. This has happened to me a fair bit over the past week.
I’m not sure if this is specific to sPvP or the skill in general as I do not use it outside of sPvP.
I agree, I don’t understand why everything isn’t global already, its pretty much just having the same guild with the same name on multiple servers and only linked by guild chat and the guild roster.
I honestly don’t see any reason at all for there being separate upgrades/influence. If they are throwing everyone together with the guest system so everything is pretty much like the district system from GW1 (except for WvW of course), I see it causing a lot of issues.
If I guest to another server, will I be able to take advantage of the boosts on my home server?
Not so much a bug as a bit of an over-restriction. It seems that people are only gain permissions to invite if you give them power over every rank below them. This should really be two separate permissions.
Also, having guild announcements in chat would also help a lot just so people understand whats going on. Maybe not an online/offline thing like in other guilds, I can see that being chat spammed if the guild has 500 members. Announcements like guild join/leave, promotions and research finishing would be perfect.
