It downloaded 980MB for me. I’d definitely wait until you can use uncapped internet to download it.
Well this was a rather large patch in size. I got to 938MB at 98% when it started having connection issues. Thankfully it finished up from what I can tell.
Seriously ANET, can’t we have a “n of total” download listing on the launcher by now?
I’ll have to check out the new faces. I have a total makeover kit just sitting in my bank right now.
My advice to people who are interested in playing the restored Personal Story (which will include the Greatest Fear steps, original chapter 8 ordering, and various minor text and VO updates) is to not complete A Light in the Darkness (in chapter 6). That way you’ll be able to play the restored content in its entirety when it goes live.
We’re currently discussing release dates and will share that information when we’re able. Thanks again for all your great suggestions and patience.
That’s great news finding out that y’all are not only restoring the Personal Fear story arc, but are making minor upgrades to the story. It was very confusion running a new character through the full storyline and episodes were out of order from where I ran it before. The whole “hey, nice seeing you again” to people I never met before was boggling.
Here’s the kicker though: I just finished A Light in the Darkness two days ago on a new alt. Before I found this thread. So, am I screwed? Should I go ahead and continue her story and just run back through on another alt to see the changes?
Sorry no, I don’t like the look. Plus I don’t have the money so it works out.
Astorra is using different models depending on where she is looks like. She’s leafy haired, blue skinned, and wearing a dress in the crime scene areas and out in the wilds of Caledon she’s branchy haired, olive green and using a variant of town clothes. Maybe even a different face too. I didn’t look too closely.
5GB a month myself. Thanks to lack of infrastructure upgrades out here since congress mandated everyone gets telephone service. >_> Good thing I was already planning to take a hdd portable to a friends house to download this patch.
Can the amount to be downloaded be put on the launcher itself for patches? That would be cool.
Hello!
I’m either horrible at searching or there’s no recent topic on this.
Is there a way to find out how much we’re downloading each patch? I’m on a capped internet connection through AT&T (aircard). I get 5GB a month and when you patch the game, I have no idea how big the patch is going to be until it’s finished.
I thought the game wasn’t patching until the 28th with the big patch so I was good to play the rest of this week with no patching. Until I launched the game today. Due to how close I am to the cap data-wise this month, I can’t play until I take a portable harddrive over to a friends house to finish downloading today’s patch. It reached 50MB before I had to shut it down.
So my suggestion is: please add a Download Remaining (000MB) indicator to the launcher. Or something similar. I can plan on this game’s patches a lot easier if I’m not guessing on how much it has left to download.
Now if this is going to happen anyway with the big patch on the 28th, then awesome. If not, please take this in consideration.
Thanks!
