That could work in a pinch, thanks. Didn’t think to look for consumables :P
I’m guessing a weapon of those types that illuminates just doesn’t exist? :/
I don’t know of any sadly. :/
There’s a consumable item called Effigy Fragment that will server your purpose. It gives you a torch that will light up the area around you and it’ll stay until you sheath it.

From Dulfy:
“Sold by Grathzion the Dauntless in Fireheart Rise for 1 silver 4 copper (near entrance to Citadel of Flame) after you do the event Track down and kill the effigies in Amduat Point with Grathzion.”
Lenovo Y580 is definitely a great buy. I’m personally using one myself, and have had no issues, playing on mostly high settings for PVE, dropping to 40 FPS or so at high-pop events. I don’t do WVW much so I can’t tell you about any performance there. For mobile gaming, I’m not sure how you would take this, but the power brick is quite large, and the laptop itself is a little heavy and thick., but it’s definitely manageable.
The Y400 and Y500 are also definitely worth checking out too if you want a little cheaper.
I had a similar problem with my laptop. Try re-installing the latest Nvidia driver. That fixed my issues.
I play on a Lenovo Y580. I never drop below 30 FPS in Lions Arch with almost max settings (shaders and shadows toned down, and anti-aliasing off). It has a dedicated nvidia gtx 660m, a quad core i7, and 6gb of ram and I have no problems. However, I don’t wvw so i can’t really give you any info about my fps there. The cost of this laptop was $800 USD, which is cheap for the specs you get with it in my opinion. My laptop gets warm, but not hot which is actually great, since I don’t need to buy an external fan.
Okay, so basically I was getting around 50 FPS yesterday with almost everything maxed, except anti-aliasing was off and shaders and shadows were turned down a bit. However, today I can’t get over 25 FPS even with my graphics on all low.
My laptop is a Lenovo Y580 with:
Processor: Intel i7-3610QM @ 2.3 GHz (Turbo up to 3.3)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660M (2GB)
RAM: 6 GB
I’m not sure if you need any other specs, but if you do let me know.
I’m pretty sure the issue isn’t heat though because the laptop hardly gets hot.
Thanks!
Edit: Re-installing my graphics driver seemed to fix the problem.

Sony Vegas Pro is amazing for editing. It is a little pricey to buy, but it’s worth it if you’re serious about making videos.
