Weapons Disappear

It’s a minor bug that is more visual as you are able to attack still, but once you reach Caer Astorea in Caledon Forest, your weapons disappear. This has happened everytime for me and only becomes fixed after leaving the map.

This has happened on my mesmer, ranger, engi and ele. I have provided pictures of it happening to my ele.

You can still attack/sheath and unsheath your weapons they just no longer show visually. Unsure if this is just me or if it happens to skinned/legendary weapons in this area.

Bug in the ps, Forewarned is Forearmed

This is the personal story where you have to go into the sewers and fight the Undead Scout. The bug here is that the walls of the sewers while in underwater combat seem to only be solid for you. Enemies such as the jellyfish and undead scout can swim through the walls so you cannot target them but they can still hit you. Warmaster Forgal also has this magic ability to ignore wall solidness.

It took me a frustrating hour to complete this mission as the undead scout kept getting stuck behind the walls and then resetting once my clones shattered (I was on my mesmer). Forgal was nowhere to be seen as he had died behind a wall to the jellyfish that can also swim through walls.

Attached is a picture of when the Undead Scout swam through a wall and decided to hang back there while I couldn’t hit it.

Stress Test = story? how disappointing....

The brief story we got to play made me really look forward to what they have planned for us.

Feedback on HoT Stress Test [merged]

Here is my feedback, but firstly, I am appalled at those complaining about the Beta Test being “boring”. You were chosen out of thousands to test new things before anyone else and you complain about how “boring” it is?!

I really liked the new class, though I really would like to see what other weapons they can use. Opening loot bags showed me that Scepters, Long and Short Bows, Rifles, Greatswords and Tridents were all unusable (unless it was limited because of the beta). I don’t tend to use maces at all, but I found mace on Rev a load of fun. What I saw with the beta really hypes me to see what else we can see from this class.

Masteries: Very interesting, but hard to understand, the UI is very ugly and blocks your chat and half your screen. Consider another method maybe?

Handgliding: A load of fun once I figured out how to use it. Can’t wait to be able to use this in a bigger area. I hope we can use it in other maps too, though, not just the Maguuma maps.

Wyvern Fight: People were saying it was too easy, but I suppose with the number of us there it had to be. I still saw people get downed/dead by it, so it couldn’t be that easy. I enjoyed it.

Story: The brief story we saw made me really hyped for the expansion. Did Destiny’s Edge and Trahearne survive? What does Mordremoth look like? I really can’t wait to find out these answers.

Events: Though limited, due to the nature of Beta, were interesting enough for me to stick around for a couple or rounds. The Torch event had me hooked for at least 15mins.

New mobs: I found the new mobs very interesting design-wise. Did anyone else see the Pocket Raptors and the Smokescales?

Bugs/Glitches: I suffered a great decrease in framerate after being there for more than an hour. Not sure if its because my computer is only moderate with games, or if it was the test. Also, my sound started lagging, distorting and cutting out entirely. During the cutscenes, some dialogue cut out entirely. My friend and I discovered a few glitchy things (such as a floating mortar bomb thing).

I wanted to add that I am very honoured I was chosen for the Beta Stress Test, and that from what I saw from the limited content, you have all worked very (not soft) on the expansion. Thank you, I can’t wait for HoT to be finished!

(Apparently the opposite of soft is a swear and it was censored by “kitten”)

Where to report?

I think there should be more specific reporting within the game. Adding a “griefing” and “inappropriate behaviour” report would make the experience so much easier and less hassle.

The good and bad of racial cities.

So when you make a toon, eventually you will have to map each racial city + Lion’s Arch. So I want to hear your reasons for liking and disliking certain cities. They can be dumb reasons, they can be too nitpicky. Let your inner critic shine!

Divinity’s Reach: Second most hated city (Lion’s Arch is my most hated city). Too big and I always get lost or can’t find a POI or something. With content guide it has become a bit easier to map. Despite this, I love the Palace gardens and the little aquarium leading to the Minister’s Waypoint. Also like how it does feel like a royal city, with many houses and different areas with inns/bars.

Hoelbrak: Again, too large and also too snowy. I dislike snow levels because it’s just so plain and white. I hate some of the NPCs in Hoelbrak that never shut up (“Take heed, I have not taken a leave of my senses. I’ve seen creatures of metal and steel” She says this every time someone walks past, so it can get ridiculous.) and how much more of a maze it can be. On the up side, it can be great for rangers, giving you about 3-4 pets.

Rata Sum: I have no real gripes with the city, except perhaps how one of the vistas you have to get is impossible to get back up from without dying or wp. Also there are always thousands of gold spammers whenever I go there. Also tons of people crowded in one area. But other than that, I love the sci-fi feel it has, almost something straight from Star Wars. Also it is one of the easiest cities to map, because it is mostly contained in one cube.

Black Citadel: I have heard people complain about BC being the worst city, but I can’t see it. I guess because I have mapped it 40+ times, I just know it off by heart and it is one of my easiest cities to map. It is full of brutish charr that growl at you if you get too close, hardly any good areas to rp in, too brown/yellow in colour tone and one whole corner of the map is entirely sealed off.

The Grove: Beautiful city. Easy to map as it seems to all be contained in a 4 layered circle, also pretty small. I can only think of a few reasons to not like it, and those are really nitpicky. It is too small and almost suffers the same “overcrowded” feel of Rata Sum. The Repair your armour merchants are always tucked away and never easily found.

Oh also, don’t get me started on the male makeover kit hair for charr. Everytime I see “Goku” hair on a charr, I want to punch a baby.

Shorten Emote Range?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: NekoLen.9753

NekoLen.9753

Yes, I could have tabs and non-rpers do need to learn to turn emotes off if it kittenes them off that much, but 2 inches is just too high of a range. For example, that is practically the whole Grove map. If you want to rp there, you usually can’t because there are already 2-3 rps happening there and I don’t want to block other rpers just so I can do a scene.

I make new characters whenever I get an idea for one. But h=what would tempt me to make a new guy would be new race and/or new class.

Let me play the bad guy!

(In the new episode of LS you play as Caithe, you predicted it :P)

I am a rper, and I have a few bad guys in my canon and it is really strange having to go through my ps as a Courtier for example. Wouldn’t it be cool if you had the choice to join the “bad guys”? Be a bandit for humans, Son of Savnir for norns, flame legion for charr, nightmare court for sylvari and inquest for asura. It would be so cool if you could have a choice at level 10 whether to be good or bad. But then somehow make it so you still have to fight Zhaitan.

Dumb reasons why you can't play a class/race

OK thought I’d join in because this thread is so entertaining.

Human: Boring. I am human. Why would I want to play as a human in a video game where there are 4 other non-human choices? I tried human several times. Found their personal stories boring, their cultural armour boring. Just everything about them is boring. XD

Norn: Well, they are just huge humans. I only seem to make dudes (I hate the skimpy clothing on females) and norn dudes are not appealing at all. No options for more skinny frame and they are always hairy >.< Also the run animation bothers me.

Charr: I love charr to bits, but I find it really hard to keep my male charr. They are just so ugly and it is really really hard to make a good looking male charr. I managed a few times, but even then something about them bothers me. I suppose it is basically impossible to make them look good in anything. I finally managed to make my mesmer look good in some transmuted stuff.

Asura: I should love you. I really should. You are cute and little and flail around when you jump and it is just so adorable. But it’s your personalities I just can not stand. That and I hate maths with a passion and their whole culture is basically built around it. Maybe if they were less “high and mighty” about their intelligence and actually spoke a language I understand, I’d get into them.

(I am a salad lover. Have 15 or so of them and love them all. IMO they have the most diverse options of looks due to them having any colour “bark” or “headleaves”. But I don’t like how male sylvari run with greatswords, and how their animations are nearly exactly cloned from humans.)

Classes… I have every single one and don’t seem to have a preference or hate of any. I suppose I could say I find Thief my least enjoyable, mostly because of the whole spamming ability thing. It’s hard to play thief after awhile of not playing it for me.

Shorten Emote Range?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

NekoLen.9753

I believe shortening to range of /e, /me and emotes will relieve 90% of the issues when it comes to rping. Right now, the range is two inches of the map and that is just ridiculously huge. If I was standing near the bank in Divinity’s Reach, why would I want to read someone drinking at the Busted Flagon?
It would also stop a lot of the apparent frustration non-rpers feel when all they want to do is buy/sell/sort out groups for pvp/wvw or whatever they do, and get “spammed” with blocks of emote text. This would almost make it so they don’t feel as though they have to troll the rpers in anyway.
In my eyes, this is a win-win situation. Dial back /e, /me and emotes to say range. It will lessen spam on maps and make rpers and non-rpers happier.
