Do I expect people to sit around and wait for a full year for a matchmaking implementation that should have been implemented from the get-go?
I’m not going to feel bad if someone moves on to something else, each person is going to do what they feel is in their own interest. One of the great things about our game is that you’re always free to come back and try things out at any time.
If you’re asking if we feel pressured to get these changes out to you as quickly as possible, then I would say yes and no. Yes, we definitely want to see the game improve sooner rather than later. No, we do not feel pressured to release before the changes are ready. Personally, I can’t wait to share the changes I’ve been working on with you guys.
Does the public perception of our PVP development staff seem positive or negative?
I know it can often seem negative here on the forums at times, but we do get positive feedback as well. My biggest concern is that the more constructive members here will be drowned out by people venting their, often valid, frustrations and concerns in less productive ways.
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to answer some of the questions.
This game’s combat system is easily the best of any MMO I’ve ever played. It’s incredibly frustrating to see such a polished engine with such a crappy framework. It’s like having the engine of a Ferrari in the body of a minivan. Yeah, it runs like a beast, but who’s going to drive 200 mph to drop kids off at soccer practice?
We’ve been dropping off the kids for a long time, it’s time to move on. Let’s pull the engine from this kitten heap, and get some real changes. Be transparent if you are going to force us to wait a year. Give us something on a fairly regular basis. Even if it’s just “we worked on this, it failed”, it’s better than not saying anything at all.
PVE: Leveling tomes, continued karma gain, gold.
PVP: A reason to be better, to have a higher win rate. Something that sets different tiered players apart. Could be a title, could be cosmetic, anything. Just do something that increases competition. Also, boxes are absolutely annoying. Getting the same random thing 50x in a row is starting to kill me.
Also, no more candy corn ever again.
We’re getting the fix for these issues to you as quickly as we can.
The additional matchmaking improvements go beyond what has been discussed here, and will take longer to implement.
Truthfully ask yourself the following questions:
Do I expect people to sit around and wait for a full year for a matchmaking implementation that should have been implemented from the get-go? (Note: On a game that was loudly marketed as an e-sport, but lost a majority of it’s competitive players within the first year. )
Does the public perception of our PVP development staff seem positive or negative? Do they think we allocate enough resources to the right changes or not? Can we ride this until next year? (Note: Every game has it’s share of doomsayers and whiners, but is there any truth to it?)
Can we compete with the new generation of games that will be released in a full year?
Are the responses of “great feedback guys!” starting to look incredibly robotic?
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart. The very next day, you gave me candy corn.
Go freak yourself, San Diego.
I got real life diarrhea from your virtual candy corn.
Thanks for that.
