Considering I couldn’t care less about doing world completion, pve, or skill challenges..all my characters, even my first 80, were leveled with crafting and wvw. As much as I want to still love this game, I feel like getting this much of the shaft is going to push me away. Not everybody wants to bother doing world completion after they already have everything they need unlocked. This system is just going to push players like me farther away. Five 80s with most of them having under 5% map completion, it isn’t even worth it. Rip the game I once loved.

While I don’t agree with just going off on people for it, you do kind of expect a little effort. It isn’t that hard to talk to guilds, get into teamspeak, look for guild websites, etc.

Now, the few people that posted saying they purposely troll with tags in guild raids, they deserve no respect. They deserve no kindness. Not being good at a game is one thing. Not being good, getting upset, and then purposely dragging them down is a joke. You will never be respected by your server. Nor should you ever be.

Yes, it is just as much their choice as it is for you to wander up to them. Do I agree with how they handled it? No. I never stated that reacting like an kitten is the best solution. With that said, I will never stop defending people wanting to have a closed group. I like to play with people I know are above a certain skill level and can communicate, do you not? No body wants to lose a guild fight because one random bad rallied half the enemy group. Hell if you want to blame anything, blame the down/rally system. Not people who just want to play with people who can actually play.

Most guilds will also give you ts3 info or such to communicate, then will let you tag along. If you can’t be bothered to put forth the effort to at least do that, then you don’t deserve to be with the group. Defend skilled play.

Guild groups are a waste of slots on map. Most of them dont scout or defend anything.
They only look for fights to farm some worthless bags or kill count they could get faster in obsidian sanctum farm.

Okay, first off, if you even offer up the option of OS farming for kill count/bags as something a SKILL based group would want to do..I just don’t even know what to say. Sorry, most of us aren’t included with scum farming titles they don’t deserve.

You anti guild group/fight guild people..I have to ask. Do you never consider the fact that we keep just as many other guilds busy from the opposite servers? Or should we just let them run through your pug groups(you must run pug groups if you dislike guilds.) You won’t capture anything with any skilled guild running you down. Do you have any clue how fast you PPT hero’s would be deleted without us keeping real guilds busy?

Oh and the whole fact that you aren’t really getting anything from the PPT race. Besides a few exceptions, you aren’t even going to change the matchups if you try.

You are aware on a good night there is no way all GvG guilds in a tier can use OS right? The arena isn’t that big.

Counting to three then dodging is so hard. Predicting where someone who only has a couple seconds will be is so hard(ProTip: By you unless they are tucking tail) Oh and you can even see if they go to stack more stealth while they are in stealth. Being observant is just too much for people. If you are just walking along and eat a burst, you just weren’t paying enough attention.

It is totally irrelevant in my opinion. If someone is intentionally being dishonest is claiming that a thing is something that it is not. I am simply asking if the claim is blatant dishonesty, or if there is a fact of any kind to back it up. As I feel that is extremely realavent to the conversation.

While part of the reason behind OS was to get people who only care about the JP out of ques, they at several times mentioned it being geared towards GvG. This was in 2013, which is entirely too long ago for me to want to fish up a mod statement with it word for word, but the arena area was added in for GvG/Duels.

That’s the thing: why be abusive? I’m sure you’re a very nice guy IRL, and if some of your team mates in, say, volleyball makes a mistake, you will never be as abusive as you get in GW2. And if you know your team mate, you will feel a lot more free to do so. Imagine there was a soloq tournament in volleyball. I bet you would never dare to insult one of the complete strangers in your team.

I’m sure no one here hides in front of conflict. I personally loves a good confrontation of opinions, and I agree that speaking your mind is a quality that’s really important in life. But do I really want to have a conflict about who I get in my team in a video game I play to have fun? Definitely not, especially because it’s never really a conflict: it’s always a salty ego blaming others for his own weaknesses.

If I actually take the time to lose my head and go off on someone, it usually was something they worked their way up to. I just don’t get how it surprises anyone. A good chunk of the player base are the same people that sit on xbox live squealing about how you keep killing the other team before they can. Of course they are gonna spew every little profanity they can even here to make up for lack of skill. Any players i’ve ever met that were above average and worth having around were great people. So just take solace in that the ones screaming like ignorant blobs are probably worse than you.

If you have no problems in PvP on Thief while being rusty you must be dueling golem dummies. Thief has a high skill floor, because it’s the most squishy class in the game.

Being rusty doesn’t all of sudden make you horrible. Just means a few extra little mistakes you have to recover from, which thief has plenty of utility to do. I take pride being on the higher end of things, and have been comfortable with thief since release. Not everyone is bad, though us worth a kitten are harder to find.

Unfortunately, they aren’t doing it for the money, they’re doing it for the “lulz” and the hell of it. The other thing is, they only have so be successful once to make waves, the cyber security folks have to be successful every time or they’re considered failures.

Also, these guys aren’t “script kiddies” they are some of the better hackers and programmers out there. After all, they found a vulnerability in the Network Time Protocol and have exploited it ruthlessly to generate the largest DDOS attack in the history of the Internet. I’d say that proves a certain amount of skill and will to succeed. Shame all that potential is being wasted in the cyberspace equivalent of egging your neighbor’s car, or mailbox baseball.

That’s why I just don’t get it. What is the actual gain other than lulz? Most of their “fanbase,” probably plays the same things that they are screwing up. And I will continue to call them script kiddies. I don’t care that they accomplished that one thing, they are still acting on a beginner level with what they are doing with it. Who cares how good you are if you can’t actually use it for something worthwhile…

Quit complaining, any veteran thief will tell you sword #2 was broken. I am using the new shadow return just fine…you no longer have a get out of jail card, big deal. You have a stunbreaker for that reason. It’s time to focus on timing dodges and gameplay, rather than relying on sword #2 to save your kitten .

Basically what you are saying is: “If you play sword mainhand, take fights with nearby mobs around, then use your initiating/cc/damaging skill as a way to evade telegraphed enemy skills. Then waste some more initiative to be ready to do it again, unless you want to wait 15 seconds.” Boy, that sure sounds reta.. err rewarding.

You should know how to avoid stuns without having to rely on return. People put to much into just one build. Learn to play the game, and your class. Don’t just fret over something stupid. I’m sorry but unlike many other classes Thief lacks stability, protection, aegis and blocks. It depends on using stealth, dodges and shadow steps to avoid damage, they just got rid of the latter. Not to mention it just feels clunky now, either they need to restore the old IR and if they truly feel it was too good, then they should find another way to nerf it or out-right change the function of it. As it stands the skill ruins the S/D and S/P.

Keep in mind Cloak and Dagger damage in sPvP is still reduced by 33%, a change that was made to reduce the spike of Mug > C&D > Assassin’s Signet > BS is still there. The 4 second revealed also remains in sPvP which has not been needed since culling was completely removed (yes is existed in sPvP before, but it wasn’t nearly bad as WvW culling). So I’m not even expecting a fix any time soon, but hopefully I’m wrong.

This hasn’t been my main since head start or anything, so please, tell me more about the class that I know. Do you not enjoy challenge? I promise you, if you are good at your class, you are going to win. You can also learn the distances that different sets/classes can hit you from. Stay outside of that while hitting and moving. There’s a game mode for that, sPvP.

I don’t play it because it’s way too restrictive. But I also don’t complain about 1v1’s being ruined in a map with, potentially, 140 enemies.

You can say the same about ANY team game too. You do realize that right? “You only killed us because it was 3v2 because my other two teammates were on the other side of the map”, says the whiner in a 4v4 team game.

However, in THIS game mode one big mass zerg won’t (well shouldn’t if the enemies know anything about strategy) win you the game. Overall world strategy does.

So your personal skill level is on the super ultra professional level and you should be paid millions for it. Cool story. But that means jack crap when the game type you’re playing is….wait for it….WORLD vs WORLD vs WORLD.

Brag all you want about how awesome you are at duels and 1v1 but the goal of the game is to work AS A WORLD (aka team) and beat the other two worlds through overall score obtained by PPT measured by captured structures, not how many times you killed the enemy.

Basically, you are measuring skill on the wrong levels, your zerg wiped ours? You killed a ton of our players in a 1v1. Cool! Looks back at the scoreboard….I don’t see how that has any relevancy to this game type.

Oh wow. So, which server does the most PvD has the most skill? That is more narrow than me preferring 1v1 and 1vX. At no point did I say i was soooooooGEWDDDDDD ZERMG. I just prefer actually challenging myself. You can’t judge it by matchups when mag is so out of place in this, and if you do…that’s pretty sad.

It’s respect. If you are in a area that EVERYONE knows people duel, and you see a 1v1 going on..what part of a person says, “Hey, I should really mess this up.” I just don’t understand that mindset.

If half of you spent as much time actually focusing on bettering your play instead of worrying about every little change, maybe you would still be fine. If you play so linear that you can’t adapt, you probably won’t get any better no matter what they change.

I realy don’t care if you can kill some underlevelled scrubs in WvW while wearing OP gears and foods.
Show me how the thief is better than any other class in the current meta (that didn’t change at all with the last patch and now it’s even worst for thieves).
I can definitely show you how guardians dps, warriors, mesmers and even those UP eles are better than thieves in almost every role required in tPvP, where everyone fights on the same level and where balance should realy matters. When I say that thieves are in a bad spot I’m talking about this, we are being pushed out of the meta cos every other class can support the team much better than us and still people are crying that thieves are OP just because they died to thieves in WvW while wearing green gears. I don’t want to be mean nor superior to anyone but A-Net should understand that the balance should not be based on WvW

I’d gladly get into tpvp just to put you in your place. “let us pvp’ers,” because it takes nothing to be able to handle groups of people while solo right? No? Right. At no point did I say that it is better than any other class in the meta. I simply outlined the importance of the person playing said class. I understand that spvp is different. If half of you spent as much time actually focusing on bettering your play instead of worrying about every little change, maybe you would still be fine. If you play so linear that you can’t adapt, you probably won’t get any better no matter what they change.

It doesn’t matter what class you are on, or what build you want to play. The playerbase of this game isn’t exactly above average. So if you know how to play, you are going to win. I honestly love changes. Not even just for my main class, but all of the others as well. I love the fact that I can spend a few minutes reading the patch notes for all the other classes and know what I need to adapt to. Why don’t more people have that mindset? If you want to walk around destroying people learn how to do it, don’t just cry because one spec or a few skills took a hit. This is a MMO, it’s going to happen. With a little bit of effort, though, you will still succeed at your class whether we are buffed or nerfed into the ground.
