It’s an unfortunate situation but the op is correct.

Anet has continually introduced a string of nerfs for thieves, except those who follow the flavor of the month – condi meta – while continually buffing all the other classes, especially the warrior. (I play a lot in wvw but rarely post, and if you were to check my post history I specifically said the opposite, indicating how strong thieves were compared to how weak warriors were years back).

The situation now has totally reversed. As alluded to in earlier replies , the only way warriors die is if they decide to stick around with their skills on cool downs, otherwise they can just leggit out of there with absolutely no recourse (sure thieves can catch up but cannot do nearly enough damage to beat their regeneration). And herein lies the 1st most obvious problem, the healing signet on the warrior is way overpowered. Compare it say to the thief’s active healing from the signet of malice: it cannot even match the warriors passive even if the thief were to non stop beat on something without a break and using all of his initiative. Come on Anet, your balancing team needs a kick in the balls for the screwing up this badly on this alone.

The other major difference between the warrior vs a thief is that a warrior’s have the GS line that is so overtly powerful with not only its superior damage and gap closers but also the other very important but understated immunity to damage/crowd-control while performing #2, #3 & #5. This then makes it is an absolute no-brainer for EVERY warrior to have GS+Heal Signet as their staple.

I love this game regardless. I will still play a thief regardless (I have a warrior but cannot bare to play cheese modes). I just hope Anet ameliorates the situation so its fun for the majority of the player base to play all classes/specs instead of the fotms/metas.

Best Warrior Build

I am new to the warrior for wvw, my main is a thief with greater than 25k kills, and have found the warrior to be sub-par, particularly for my solo playstyle, until trying out your build.

The complaints of the lack of sustainability for the warrior is true, added to that that many of a warriors main attacks just misses completely (bull’s charge, gs#5, etc), lack of any escapes (even endure pain is a subpar damage mitigator compared to other classes let alone the few teleports or stealth , or in some cases both, that other classes receive), explains why there are so few warriors being played at the high level, even in groups where they are at their best.

But regardless, I will play a warrior class with my rogue class like I have ever since Everquest, Daoc, Vanguard, Rift and now GW’s. I hope the developers start using some contingency probability trees (that is branches indicating probability of attack vs prob. of getting hit with each round of combat ) like they do in finance to calculate expected payoffs for financial contracts because then you could really address the balance between the classes and it would show how lacking the warrior really is. <small rant over>

Anyways back to the OP, thanks again for this , it seems quite a fun build.
