seriously its like an audience demanding angrily that a musician create better songs, and every time the musician creates something the audience erupts in boos and throws trakitten him, and then demands he go back and do it again, and this is supposed to go on for years cause they paid for a ticket one time.

Maybe the musician should stop making crappy songs then.

maybe the audience should stop demanding the perfect song that will leave them in a state of bliss for all eternity, and perhaps realize that they themselves are not musicians and do not understand how complex the process is, and that the musician can only do so much with the time and resources allotted to him

and i wouldnt expect the musician to be eager to make better music cause all the audience does is trash him no matter what he does

As long as the musician wants to live from his music then yes, he is expected to create something the audience likes.

This is a business. Anet needs players to be happy if they want to keep making a profit out of this game. Whoever thinks the only income Anet made from this game is the initial 60 bucks is just plain ignorant.

Ever think that maybe Allie went on a holiday or has real life issues and the other devs are busy working on the patch. You know because people live in the real world no to just pleasure you. If the PvP co-ordinator is on holidays / real life issues then you could expect there to be a drop in dev posts.

Excuses everywhere. Do they work for free? Is Arena Net a small and poor company? I don’t think so.

Having real life is now considered an excuse?

Next time my boss asks me why i haven’t done anything this week i’m gonna tell him i was busy with real life.

Some people talk as if devs were doing this out of charity…

How ele can be fixed
Then we can modify the current base attunement recharge and base HP , why the ele must be the only profession that get taxed twice for using its own main mechanic?

Add impossibility to weapon swap, very low damage from normal attacks, and huge mobility nerf to the taxes.

All of this because we can attunement dance, and heal (but only if heavily spec’d for it).

Got two hit by a thief while you were searching your inventory for your other weapons.

Ran away and waited forever to get out of combat because you accidentally normalattacked someone with staff when you wanted to change weapons. By the time you manage to get your daggers most of the fight is over.

Run after someone and used RTL trying to catch him, only to see him use 3-gap opening skills leaving you far behind, and wondering why on earth was RTL considered OP.

It is wrong how in this game the balance is done and it probably killed the game for many players that this meta stayed for months

It’s only been 2 months. Update was applied on June 25th. It really hasn’t been that long.
People are just impatient.

Yet 2 months without an official response, seems like Anet either doesnt care, or priorices their stupid PAX esport bs before the other 99% of the community.

Also 2 months being stuck in lowest tier is enough to drive some people off to other games.

To the one that said rtl revert was debatable, it definitely does need doing.
D/D ele is the only profession stuck as melee only, every other class can do melee/range with press of a button.
You get immob`d, stunned, knocked back etc soon as you use rtl to get to the enemy, you are kittened. Yeah yeah, some will say don`t use rtl to get to them, but if you`re being hit from 900-1500 range & walk over, you are dead before you get to hit them once…

This…this… so much this.

I just cannot understand how the profession less suitable for melee (hp-def) is denied a source of engaging/disengaging fights. You either get heavy damage and conditions while walking straight to your target, or you RTL into your foe and hope that he will die fast because you’ve just burned your escape skill.

Seriously, screw the 20 skills. I’d rather have half of them if it means they are useful. If i can fight range with range, and switch to melee when i need it.

I know i could simply reroll (and probably should) but im stupid enough to think i should play what i like and not what Anet forces me to. Deep down i still like ele, but its wrong, so wrong in so many things that i have almost lost any hope for it.

I just absolutely LOVE to tab cycle through all of the kitten on screen while getting chewed alive by pets and conditions and range and whatnot.

The whole point of being an Ele is to cycle through your attunements surely? This is the class’s primary attribute and it needs to be utilised to get the maximum benefit.
On DD it’s standard to close on Air, follow up on Fire, shift to Water to negate damage received and then finish off anything left standing in Earth with bleeds. With boons, esp Fury popping like billio, the DPS is through the roof with a crit build. My Ele speed kills as fast as my Warrior easily.
Anyone who can’t/won’t consider attunements whilst attacking needs to roll a different class. Sticking to auto attack is pointless.

If this is indeed the whole point of an ele, then why do we need such a high trait investment for it to be viable? An ele with no points in arcana is not versatile.

Your rotation being “standard” shows exactly how this broken mechanics force elementalists to spam the same rotation regardless of whats going on, in a desperate effort to keep up with your opponents damage (and often even a perfectly executed rotation isnt enough).

Also i assume you are mostly a pvm player? the rotation you mentioned (“finish off anything left standing in Earth”) would only work vs low hp mobs… vs anything else you would find your opponent still alive, and then you start struggling as your main CC skills are in cooldown for another 30 seconds, your normal attacks wont cut it, and the attunement you want is not available. And this is when things change from using what you need to spamming what you have. So much for versatile playing.

Our attacks hit less because we have 20 skills to pick from, we are supposed to attunement swap like crazy to make up for this.

Our defense and hp pool are the lowest, because we have water attunement to heal ourselves.

Too bad that in order to make our class mechanics viable we are FORCED to spend half our skill traits.

Having a bigger amount of skills means nothing if you can’t use them when you need them, and as normal attacking someone feels like a waste of time (unless in air), you end up spamming whatever is off cooldown.

When i saw videos about this class i saw that each attunement had it role, i would switch into it depending on who i was facing/what i needed to do. I didnt know that Anet would want me to buttonsmash everything and make pretty much the same rotation regardless of who im facing.

Elementalists are no longer viable

Just think about it: Elementalists don’t have armor, they are wearing clothes. They have the lowest hp pool ingame (little bit more than 10k). Yet they are forced into close range combat without having strong protections, cc or dmg either. The only true defense they can make use of is healing themselves – so they are forced to spend points into water and arcana, as they are very dependant on attunement switching. Zero possibilities for build diversity – horribly stupid design. And additionally Anet wants to force elems into being a jack of all trades. Just – what? Isn’t there a limit to stupidity?

So much this… i really dont understand whats the logic behind ele design. I understand that Anet wanted something different from the typical mage you see in every other game, but then why did we inherit their weakness? We have the low defense and hp of every mage, together with subpar damage.

Its just stupid that to make a normal use of your own class mechanics, you are forced to spend half of your points in water and arcana, only to get a decent attunement switching, and a bit of healing.

I refuse to be one of those players that jump onto the op bandwagon, i want to play the class i like and not the one Anet likes, so until i see eles viables again i guess i’ll just play some other game because the current state is by no means FUN.
