Monkeys I asked for a day. Not your opinions on the matter. Save that for another thread.
Just checking on the date. See when WvW will be more then just one thief taking down an entire zerg.
On the flip side the World Trans fix did wonders!
btw who cares about forums when they rather post critical info on twitter or facebook… really ya’ll know this game is dead in 3 months
because a small percentage of people actually read the forum. i bet not even 1% of the people that bought the game have visited the forums once. whereas a large, large majority of people (sadly) visit twitter and facebook much, much more frequently then the forums.
Alongside the free advertisement.
Have you ever heard of DayZ? The Dev team for that Mod are someone ANet should really look to become. Rocket has fixed loads of bugs and added in so much content in about the time it took ANet to realize how stupid the World Transfers are.
Here’s the point. I’m hoping that one day, ANet will get a LEGIT team working on bugs and fixing problems. Cause that is what this game needs. And until that happens I really can’t say I like them very much… Compared to when I first started playing.. It’s better. I’m hoping to fall in love with them (No kitten or insane) soon. When they remove World Transfers or limit it to once per month and fix the Warrior’s Vengeance bug that causes him to die twice.
And nerf the thief.. But lets not get into that right now.
I am sorry, but I was just reminded of this:
What is that from!?
Anyone on SoR know if they fixed it yet? I would really like to finish the map for that area.
That skill point has always been a little funny . But hey easy kill
He’s “Friendly” so i can’t kill him.
Because Salvaging was too easy and was a bigger money sink then Dungeons. Just stop kittening about having to do some actual work, and do the actual work.
And if you have a less then optimal PC you probably shouldn’t be playing this game anyway.
At least you finished it. That’s the last thing I need to finish map completion.
Sharks can walk on land. GG we are all gonna die!
Double sucks cause it’s the last Skill point for Map Completion.
Hopefully soon. I wouldn’t mind being able to craft my own mount. Like the chair from Game of Thrones but in a motorcycle style.
Again. Any and all arguments against Mounts are already nulled and void. GGNORE.
It’s really nice to have a beautiful mounts in gw2 , however we should be able to resurrection, farming and searching while we are riding them.
I hope that they have the same speed as swiftness do.
In this way no one will be sad
33% constant speed boost. Helps a lot when doing Map Completion and running back to Events after getting downed.
Yes I do. Ctrl Click also works to show off armor stats and looks and such.
Hi, my names Joni and I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 from the day it came out. But I have found that it can be quite boring as you amble towards your next quest/event/instance I think the game could be improved by Mounts. I believe this is the only thing that World of Warcraft has on Guild Wars 2. I mean, I know there are WayPoints that you can port’ too and when it comes to 3 Silver per travel and then you have to go to and from in order to report to your current quest giver. The WayPoints are good ideas, don’t get me wrong but nothing truly replaces the feeling of having your own faithful friend to travel with you. If anyone from Arena Net is reading this please try to get this into the game. It would improve ratings and bring over more new players in my opinion. Anyone else, please tell me your opinions on this. Thankyou for reading.
Aye, mounts will be added later in the game. But do not expect them anytime soon. ANet has loads of bugs to fix before they can be added. And they are fairly low on the list.
It’s cute when the only pile of kitten excuse players against mounts come up with are those cities crap. Which isn’t true in any way. Players can still click on merchants and see very clearly. Especially if an option like Do Not Render Mounted Players is added.
If by a sliver of a chance it does become a problem it will most likely be added as a mod.
But again. Expect mounts much later in the release and settle for walking around bored.
Ctrl-Click on armor to put it into chat.
Yes, No, Maybe so?
Won’t be too hard. Be simple as double click on a weapons name and just change it to what you want. Depending on sigils and stuff it will still be of the (insert kitten here). But more like Ban Hammer of the (insert kitten here).
Simple, elegant, charge players to do it? Hey, easy money right there. And who doesn’t want to customize weapon and armor names. (Sides kittenes and pessimist.)
It’s 3 hours if you’re in a dungeon, 3mins if outside.
About a minute later it closed down and did the patch
Thanks for the extremely early warning!
Kinda scared the kitten out of me since I was in the middle of MK.
Probably fixing a Halloween bug, i think the mad king realm became inaccessible from certain area’s because of bugged events.
Hmm. Fine then.
Did they unnerf the Mad Kings chest? Or fix any of the many bugs?
Just buy another copy?
Or just remove the kitten thing
ANet really needs to get their kitten together…
Events should require players to actually come together and think about how they will achieve victory rather then camp the spawn point. Give each Event 4+ other things that have to be done during the event in order to win.
So because this isn’t WOW the game isn’t any good?
More like this game is trying to act like an MMO when it’s actually just a single player campaign with a CO OP side to it.
I try not to. But when you need to have x amount of x to get to the next tier and you already burned through all the nodes on the map. Suddenly you end up spending loads of money buying the mats off the market. Something I myself, would like to never do again.
Mounts are actually not that much of an issue. If you don’t want to use them. Then don’t. It’s not the same for WP’s. You have to use them after you die to respawn. Unless another player is near.
Adding in mounts wouldn’t take too long either. It would take a good 15 minutes to add in the char custom screen, and 30 minutes to increase and decrease the size of some animals, and then animating it wouldn’t take too long either. Considering how much work is put into it.
Well there is also the amount of time people have to do something.
Myself:
At most I have 3 hours to do something before I have to do my dragon runs. In those 3 hours I need to complete as many exploration and farm as much ingredients and ore as possible. Because of the current WP system I have to jump from WP to WP spending 1 silver per jump. I jump at least 10 times in a single map within at least a 30 minute time period. I also do events and such. That right there is 10 silver. Now I spend about that much repairing, and getting to dragon and back, and buying the last bit of mats I need to get to the next tier. In short I wasted about 1 gold easy just on WP travel. And it rarely got me anywhere close to where I needed/wanted to be.
With mounts I would be more then happy to just ride along the border of the area stopping to farm mats, do events, and rez dead players. Saving hundreds of gold over time. And hours on end.
This game does not need mounts at all, please don’t add them. Just fix waypoint cost scaling and let parties move to waypoints together for a split cost among them.
That’ll increase cost. Again. Not solving the problem at hand with the current cost burning a hole in my wallet.
This game needs ground mounts. But not flying mounts. Don’t be afraid and think such a thing will ever be added.
Problem with that is balance issues. How will each mount scale? Will a Warriors mount do more damage then a Mesmer’s? Or will difference race mounts have stronger abilities.
As WvW stands it doesn’t need a mount system in it. Keeping the mounts for PvE only keeps ANet from having to do any more balance work.
And helps those that can’t afford WP travel. At first it may seem cheap but it gets stupid expensive when you use them constantly. And the money you can save on that you can spend on better gear or the very mats you would be trying to farm.
Hmm, I would assume the only reason the rates are so bad is because it can be brought with ingame cash. Had that not been an option and you were only allowed to buy it with real life cash the drop would be more then likely doubled.
Having 2 types of gems. 1 from Gold other from actual money would solve most problems. For spending ACTUAL money you can get a special key that quadruples the chance of receiving great items. Or a Ace card that you can turn into an item of your choice.
The reason for that is both as a thank you for supporting ANet. And as a thank you we hope you enjoy this (insert kitten item that won’t change gameplay but will still make you want to buy more keys with actual money.)
errr no.
down scaling is working as intended.
please do not fix what is not broken.
Get level 80 gear. Go to level 5 area.
Tell me scaling is not broken.
Your right Mesmer can stealth I usually mark mesmers so when they come out they are still marked
You need to do research of your own, Thieves will not have a damage nerf because they do not have perma invis. Not trying to be rude to you but I am not getting one shotted by thieves, I am getting stun locked by good players… but they are good players.
how about we go with Daecollo’s suggestion and play hello kitty online Island adventure then we wont have to worry about QQing abotu stealth
They did nerf the damage a bit. Down to 15% over 5 hits rather then 50% on 1 hit.
Now listen to what I’m saying. Because, I know you. And how bad you read.
I said Thieves need more of a Risk Reward. Deal higher damage at the cost of losing stealth completely. But, it could deal 1 hit damage. Stealth would also have to break if the Thief uses the Finish Them thing.
If a lowbie is being helped by higher leveled guildmates… It’s okay.. But at the same time I can see how this makes it difficult for other lowbies that wanna enjoy the game.
/supported
I never called you lazy Gummy I simple stated that if your not willing to do your own legwork I will not support your laziness not to go look it up for your self. That is nto calling you lazy that is simply stating that a lazy person wont and if you fall into that category then you are only calling your self lazy. Hell someone else has already done half the work for you. ;-)
Kaimick.5109:
Gummy do the research on your own, I don’t support Lazy people that want hand outs and I wont support your laziness to not do the research, I found it just fine, then again I just was smart about my search.
Grammar lesson. Laziness = Lazy – y + iness. That’s 1st grade bro.
Gummy do the research on your own, I don’t support Lazy people that want hand outs and I wont support your laziness to not do the research, I found it just fine, then again I just was smart about my search.
You did call him lazy.
Battle Mount might a bit broken. How would it scale in relation to other mounts? Or how would he be used in PvP?
And http://www.mmorpg.com/mobile/forums.cfm?ismb=1&threadId=352304 apparently ANet had stated Mounts won’t be out on release. Meaning they could very well be working on it.
And how the hell is the WP Travel mat farming thing viable? The money i waste porting everywhere I could just as easily buy the mats myself. Which I don’t wanna do. WP’s are meant to respawn, and show contested areas.
(edited by NightFire.7563)
NightFire you believe in World of Warcraft so much then go back and play WoW. But do not for one second think that WoW is perfect only Catababies say that. Which means that you never played in Vanilla or TBC or most of WoTLK.
Your statement right there just proved your a hardcore Fanboy of WoW so go back and play wow have fun.
I and many others enjoy GW2 even for it being as you say " faulty and flawed" we enjoy it, if you don’t enjoy the way the game is currently go back and play your wow catababy no one is stopping you from mounting up and riding off into the sunset of perfection.
I love how you continue to call me a fanboy, and not break down the post. You know that Mounts are something this game can benefit from. And at this point I would not mind make another Mounts thread. Cause this one is dirty as hell.
In an attempt to get it back on track.
The only problems ANet has at the moment is not wanting to become like it’s drunk older brother WoW. Which really isn’t that hard to do.
The point of it all is to make the player work! Give the player something to do while grabbing ore, waiting for queues, or doing events and such. In short. Give the player a NON compatible companion. Like the Minis but these are actually useful. The player choose his mount at the char selection screen. Depending on the race it can be one of 3 animals. Because I’m kitten near tired and don’t wanna bother typing each individual animal out I won’t.
At level 1 – 10. They are nothing more then an accessory. There to please the eye and to play with when bored. It is currently a pup.
As the player levels so does the companion(mount) starting at level 11. Same as the Trait skill. It is during this time the companion grows into it’s child phrase.
Again at level 20 the pet grows into it’s teenage years. The player sees it growing bigger and stronger. Although it still can not fight, and is not mountable.
Finally, at level 30. Same as the Elite Skill. The companion grows to an adult age. And depending on how the player acted around him. The companion can grow into different ways. At this point skins can be attached to the companion to change the looks and the types of Brawl moves it can use. Brawl moves can only be used in towns and only against other players that actually want to brawl. So it’s a choice thing.
To comply with ANets 33% speed rule, the mount grants permanent speed buff. And removes any other speed buffs from stacking on.
There. As anyone with half a brain can see. It’s NOTHING like WoWs trainer method of purchasing skill + mount. Meaning, ANet is keeping away from the WoW clone thing. ON TOP OF! Since it’s something the player can customize at the character creation (Types, color, saddle and the such) it won’t add too much of a workload. But still give players another thing to work on.
Wasn’t so hard.
The general statement out of Anet is, " There will be no mounts in GW2 in the initial release".
http://www.mmorpg.com/mobile/forums.cfm?ismb=1&threadId=352304
Googled it and found that. Kamick isn’t completely wrong. But he is far from right.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions
Simply stated that they didn’t want a WoW clone. Which this game is already far from. But never does it state ANet flat out refuse mounts.
I am sorry, I don’t understand, exactly what point did you prove, that you like WOW better cause its not broken, but GW2 is broken. If you gonna try to harp on me, at least make a point in favor of the game you are defending.
Wow.. GW2 community is sheltered.
Wow.. GW2 community is sheltered.I like WoW because they were able to execute everything to a near perfect. Something GW2 can only better from. Things like Mounts are something that can only better the game. Only rarely can it break it.
But it is apparent that you really want mounts and seeing as the last words from the developers was.. NO NO and Hell NO I guess you can stay in WoW if you want your mounts.
Prove that give me the link, show me where a Dev posted that there would never be mounts in GW. I know of one statement that said there would never be any Flying mounts.
Still like so many you think if they have mounts they are gonna copy paste WOW, and like so little I know that Anet can produce something never before seen or done.
They have already done this with Unique ideas like the Junundu.
Well, Copy Paste no. But bring in the idea of breaking the mount. Work for that kitten thing like no tomorrow. Then ride off into the sunset on top of a freaking Centaur that curses your name every step of the way.
And what is the Junundu?
“You are correct WoW Worked it freaking worked
all past tense
now it just fails freaking fails.
I am sorry that PvP is not all about he who has the most time gold and gear wins the round in GW.
but you know what if you believe in this higher god of MMO’s and WoW Freaking worked then go back and play wow…. oh that is right your playing GW2 trying to make it into the new wow different skin.
I love how your only come back to me is a high school level insult first time MMO scrub. Hey nice to meet you, and you must be blinded egotistical wow fan boy troll kitten. slinging insults doesn’t make this an argument. and 12 people or 200 people wanting mounts doesn’t mean the developers will do it when 3 million people say no.
So again I state since the Developers have spoken and said NO if you want mounts go to WoW.”
Kiddies like you don’t deserve some of my more… Well thought out insults. So I usually throw out the basic crap givin from Xbox Live or such.
Yes PAST tense. PAST I used the PAST tense of work-ed<— Means past.
First off munchkin, you do not speak for the Devs. If they decide to make a giant kitten in the middle of the freaking map. Then they will do it, without informing you. Because you are nothing more then a maggot to them. And they do not care about the ideals on a single crazed individual that thinks he is a prophet.
Second, I might go back to play WoW. And see how GW2 grows. I hope this game last longer then an additional year. But ANet’s ability to fix bugs and such worries me.
Finally, Again I do not want ANet to Copy Pasta from WoW. That will do nothing then destroy what GW2 can become. But that does not mean in any way that ANet can’t evolve from others. Learn what mistakes were made, and how they themselves do not make said mistakes. And Blizzard is probably the number 1 when it comes to making huge mistakes, and running themselves into the ground. And if ANet plays there cards right. Maybe they can become the next Blizzard. Minus the running into the ground face first.

It appears that Anet has given-in to player pressure and implemented mounts! By that I mean, broomsticks! Quidditch anyone?
I was indifferent to mounts until I got the witch’s costume and now I think they’d be cool. At least I’ll have my broom : )
And you get to ride them in town right , oh no what ever will the nay sayers do…
Well the Witch’s Broom can’t be used for obstruction, which is what a lot of people were worried about, and secondly, they are clearly for the lols. It’s fun riding them from the trading post to the crafting station and vice versa and also to just hoover while waiting for a group. I am not even sure if it gives a speed boost or just feels like it does. It’s just a gimmick, not a proper means of transportation. We are happy with it because the broom is not advertised as a mount. If it were and it cost X gems, there would be even more people complaining about it then they are about the halloween skins dropping from Black Lion Chests.
I like how you contradict yourself by saying “It’s fun riding them….and also to just hoover while waiting for a group.”
SO they are FUN, SO you LIKE just AFK’ing on them ,but isn’t that one of the things that the opposing the mounts was against. Who cares what size the mount is, BLOCKING is not an issue anyway cause you can talk to any NPC by hitting the (F) button.
And this line “We are happy with it because the broom is not advertised as a mount.”
What difference does that make, you are so opposed to having mounts you justify what has all the makings of being a mount, as being ok cause it was not advertised as a mount, as a way to accept it. If it was not a part of town clothing and was a mount that could go anywhere , really what difference does it make. You already said that is was fun, so why try to make it so the idea of having mounts would not be any different.sigh I also like turning into birds and flying form the crafting station to the trading post. Not to mention crafting as a bird or some other tonic induced transformation. Those are also fun for me. and serve the same function as hover on a broom.
Something called a “mount” and bought as a “mount” raises certain expectations and has certain connotations. The primary purpose of a mount is to travel. the primary purpose of that broom is to pretend to be a witch. Two very different things. You would not, for example, buy a mount that did not give a speed boost and allowed you to “zip around the map” as many of you pro-mount people like to say. There is no need for such mounts in GW 2 as we have waypoints and all classes have speed boasts and you can get speed boast buffs too. There is zero need for a “mount” in the proper “mount” sense.
Mount in WoW = necessary because they don’t have way points and the maps are designed to sink time travelling from one end to another. Mount in GW 2 = not necessary and if they were introduced as “mounts” but still made redundant because you couldn’t get a speed boast, you guys would cry even more!
Why do You think it has to be like WOW, I am all for something that has not been done before in WOW, you are the one who is hung up on this thought process that it has to be like WOW.
Evidently you played WOW, since you can easily compare this game to that. You know what, Wow had waypoints too, they were called Portals, your reference holds no weight.
Oh and you can pretend you are on witch on a broom mount also, make a better case.
Because WoW WORKED! It freaking WORKED! Everything about it just fit into freaking place! The farming, PvP, dungeons, mounts, achievements EVERYTHING!
Guild Wars 2 is trying to work. The Events are buggy and easy with a huge zerg, PvP is mismatched horribly, and farming is a pain without Guild Gathering buff. I (and everyone else I hope) understand that this game is very young. But it’s during this time that the game can evolve to become the next best MMO. But it sure as hell can’t do it unless they bring in things that the big boys use.
And the portals are like WP. But were used rarely because mounts were a better way to travel. Allowing the player to farm mats, help out players getting beat on by massive amounts of mobs, or take down enemy players.
Argument is back in. Case still stands strong. Try harder first time MMO scrub.
Flaming? I am not flaming. And yes I know of the boxes of which you speak. You can buy the Gems with in game gold to buy the keys. Boxes are extremely easy to get. Spending more then the 60$ for this game is just absurd.
Unless you’re like me and bought 2 copies of the game. Then it’s okay.
Ok Kirby. this is my last post to your Stupidity and excessive whining.
My main PvP toon is a ranger just so you know, I have no problems with the stealth at all sorry your not a better player.
My secondary is a Engineer still nto problems with it.
Warrior and gaurdian and elementalist no problems what so ever.
I do nto play a Thieve I realize you probably didn’t read anything I posted before but I don’t play a Thieve it doesn’t flow right for me.
Your asking or crying for a change so that people can remove Thieves out of stealth ( I realize there are other classes that stealth but it is evident that this is about thieves for you) something they don’t get a lot of because you can’t seem to get around it.
Look no one here agrees with you on your silly complaint, we all can get past the stealth issue just fine, we are sorry you are a crappy player we are sorry your not smart enough to use the tools available to you as a Ranger. Your excessive plee to Nerf the one ability Thieves depend on to dish out damage to heavier armored and heavier hitters which you are trying to be cleaver about and call it a " Counter " is redundant, silly and preposterous.
Again I state for your case again as my last line (Which is the only thing you read as it would seem )
Learn to play your class everyone else has, if you can’t and you still want Moves to remove stealth GO PLAY WOW noob
When a Mesmer goes invis, it doesn’t appear behind you .00005 seconds later and 1 hit you.
Thieves have been needing even more of a nerf. The most current one isn’t enough and doesn’t completely set them into that snug place they should be in. And a simple fix, is breaking them out of stealth when damage to a certain point. And increase the debuff.
This basically gives the Thieves a high risk/reward thing going. It also means Backstab can get buffed because of the increased risk.
Or, keep it simple and just lock that fail class.
Because you can buy it with ingame cash?
Or just make the debuff 5 seconds, 10 if the thief gets hit.
GG Scrub thieves.
You could sell the trophies, and other junk. Or use that bankspace.
I would like to see an increase in Collectible size though. 250 is too low. Really I maxed out a lot of mats I need and it sucks having to make bank alts and kitten.
The ONLY thing that worries me, is that the Anti hack system will beat down on innocent players. This happens a lot with Battle Eye for Arma. Or it completely glitches out and crashes the launcher as it does with xTrap for Elsword.
Since the launcher is barely stable, especially during a huge update. Adding something like that will cause more problems.
On the other hand. the bot is actually a good idea. Alongside being able to kill players that are botting. IE: If a player is reported multiple times for Botting, he is free to kill.
Ugg, I hate to admit it. And trust me on this I REALLY do. But Runescape was going in a fairly good direction when they limited the amount of gold that is tradeable or dropable. Depending on level and other such.
How this can be implemented into a full scale MMo is where the tough part is introduced.
On the one hand, just do it the ANet way. And set it to a max of 1 – 10 gold a month that can be traded to others players. This is also known as the way that obviously doesn’t work, and will just piss everyone off.
Or, regulate the amount of gold introduced into the game at any given time. Meaning Cash drops would be significantly decreased if there is a lot of gold in the game. Or tax players that have a certain amount. Again, this isn’t the best idea. But it can be close to the answer.
Or (probably the best one) introduce a system that tallies up individual players gold increase. See how much they earn in how much time. Those that are buying gold will easily be caught as the spike in having 1 copper to 10000 gold is easily seen. Or (again) have a limit to how much money can be earned in any given month. Additional money is transferred to Karma or Gems ( at triple market price).
So many options that doesn’t include banning, that still hinders sellers/buyers, and won’t piss off those that are innocent too much.
One thing CCP does to buyers in Eve Online is to remove the bought currency. When the currency has been used to purchase something, this leaves the buyer with a negative wallet balance. Since they can’t afford the listing fee, they are locked out of the market (the same thing would happen in GW2).
So they come whining to the forum about a “mysterious” negative wallet balance. Which means that they just outed themselves as a gold buyer and letting everyone know how CCP punishes them. All without CCP having to violate their privacy policies.
So I propose that ANET copies this method for first offenses. Remove entire value of bought coin. Remove the items that were bought with this coin.
If that doesn’t work, keep repeating it with an increasing ban length. Say 1 week for the second offense, double that for each subsequent offense. The reason I’m suggesting temp bans is so the buyers remain in-game to warn other players of what will happen. Thus deterring them.
The increasing ban length is for those that don’t get the message.
I also support this 100%.
(edited by NightFire.7563)
ANet should have received enough reports by now to perma ban those that hacked.
BG/GG Whatever. Hope for a cleaner game next round!
And has anyone on SoR or CD been beat down by a Warrior using Hundred Blades that should have Swiftness buff, but does not?
Alongside that, how problematic is lag in this game?
Hrmm, to be honest.
If SoS didn’t have an oceanic crew or if SoR actually had some oceanics/asianics, this match really wouldn’t be close at all.
NA Primetime SoR > SoS NA Primetime
Oceanic SoS > Oceanic SoR
Good match regardless though.
Lots of fun all around.
It’d be more fun, if I wasn’t being pulled through walls, enemies didn’t always have Swiftness, and Mesmers would stop with the wall tele kitten.
Why bother doing it? And if they are known to be doing such things, why is it taking ANet so long to do anything about it?
