I’ve experienced this bug twice now. At the Shaman’s Rookery as you show here, and also Dengatl Grounds in Caledon Forest.
Simple question: Will Reaper Shroud’s abilities also change how we fight underwater? I hope so, as it’d be pretty disappointing to have to use the current UW skills and lose that big part of our elite spec.
From what I saw on the POI showing off the Reaper’s skills they all look like they’d translate over pretty well underwater. Especially that Necrocopter skill. You’d become a Necropedo.
I’m just curious as nothing about how the changes to death shroud will translate to underwater when in reaper shroud.
Similarly I just recently did the changed Personal story. At first I was like “Oh they shortened the whole thing, you complete the Source of Orr and fight Zhaitan much faster”.
But now it’s reintroducing me to Sayeh…aaand Trahearne consoled me on the loss of Tonn…who wasn’t even the plotline I chose to begin with. I picked the one where a Risen Mesmer wreaks havoc on your reputation.
I had the very same bug happen back at launch. Wow.
I DO like that all the missions during the first part all launched from the airship. I’d love for more plot-lines to follow something like this.
I came to the forums to see if the appearance of the story going effectively back in time so jarringly was a bug. I am surprised to find that appears to have been intended.

Looks like my ticket is now closed, Gaile. I wasn’t able to get the assistance requested but response time after posting here was great, so thank you and the support team for that.

Hello Gaile,
Might I get an update on my ticket as well? It’s #115363 and was first requested November 28. :]
Love the additional screenshots, you guys.
As I said, I actually really like all the new hairstyle models. They’re really cool. I just hoped to be able use the hair color for it. :]
I particularly love the arm patterns and proportions, and the glow. Much love for the glow though it doesn’t show in the screenshot above. The hairstyle and differences even in voice clips during combat are all things I prefer over human styles.
I’m also amused at how rare (understandably) the use of this skin tone seems to be. I’ve had a few people ask me how I got to look the way I do until I explain I’m actually not playing a human.
I wouldn’t suggest completely removing the existing one, as it would only step on other people’s preferences. I just wish that an alternate coloring layout were available. :]
As to those earlier who asked “why would you go for a human skin tone” on my sylvari, the answer is that there are things you can do with the sylvari options you simply can’t do with human ones. Here’s my current look ^^:
@Electro Huh. Yeah, it occurred to me as I was reading the responses above that Sylvari don’t have an accessory color option like the others. I wonder if that’s because of the glow effect?
Still, I personally would’ve liked to be able to use the hair color here, even if it was an option just using the same model so that there were two versions. I still really like the new models overall though.
I love that new hairstyles were added to all the races! Most are even pretty cool looking. I am sad though, because the one new hairstyle I really want for my sylvari has a thing that makes me not want to actually use it. :/
The hairstyle in question doesn’t use your chosen hair color as the hair color. It uses your SKIN color instead, and since I use “light pink” as my skin color to have a human-esque looking sylvari it ends up being like a lot of the racial armor. :/
I really need help here.
For as long as I’ve owned the game cutscenes, be they in personal story or dungeons and the like, would forcibly crank my shadow settings up and kill my performance. The cutscene would end but then the game would be trying to draw high shadows everywhere (I play on low/none) and remain often until I re fiddled with the setting.
As of the Flame and Frost: Gathering Storm patch interior areas seem to ambiently have dynamic shadows as well regardless of any changes to my settings. I can’t get them to shut off.
When I was doing the jumping puzzle in Wayfarer Hills earlier, the large number of torches and things all over the cavern caused my computer to freak out and drop performance greatly.
I also am experiencing heavy performance issues in some outdoor spots and during any world boss fight I’ve seen but I don’t know that they are related.
I’m running on:
HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
CPU: AMD A8-3510MX APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
8192 MB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6620G
Driver: 9.12.0.0
Windows 7 64-Bit
@Leo G
It was hilarious! We were laughing all night. :]
@Sarcasmic
I know, it was pretty abusive, hence our concern. My downscaled elementalist still had like 70+% crit chance thanks to his sigil and the boulders were hitting Vassar for about 700 damage on a crit.
In a word: Boulders.
My guild and I had our first official dive into the game’s dungeons last night and as such we ran AC Story path.
A fellow Guildy and I were assigned to keeping Vassar away from Relena you see and so we began chucking rocks, as the encounter is designed as far as I can tell. I noticed that the rocks would often fly through Vassar and so we stood on opposite ends, stunlocking him. The result was amusing and frightening as between just Eir and my guildy and myself, we’d over half killed him by the time the rest of my part had killed Relena.
Then we got a wonderful, awful idea.
We all picked up boulders, all 5 of us, and proceeded to run over to King Adelbern. We took positions around him and proceeded to hurt ourselves from laughter. We were able to totally stunlock him into submission by way of boulder-spam. This had been our second trip into the dungeon by this point and we were experimenting with ways to make the fight easier for us.
But this worked so well that on our third trip in we did this elsewhere when it was manageable. With various bosses bouncing in place to hilarious results. Kasha blackblood, a champion troll, and a captain or two were stoned to death like some kind of biblical fable. At a few points we lost a boulder or two to randomness (at one point a boulder somehow attached itself to a ceiling, and did you know that boulders float apparently?) but you only NEED 2 or 3 boulders at most to keep this going.
Unsure of whether we were just being clever or had discovered some kind of exploit, we’ve decided to post about it as well as report it in-game.
