Cleric event in Bloodstone Fen

in Living World

I’m gonna chip in with an agreement here, the scaling is way over amplified. I completed the event by myself on my thief when the Cleric was in the rocky area closer to the crater, but every time there have been other people around (or the location is near the camp with Squad Leader Bennett) the seekers just explode.

I’m glad to have read this thread though, I’ll try camping one of the shard points and “disposing” of them by picking them all up the next time I need to do it on a character that has few CCs slotted.

Selling SAB

I do applaud the response from the Anet team, because transparency is where it’s at.

On the other hand… this is clearly exploiting. Dungeon selling is an unintended consequence of an intended feature (rejoining a party in progress), whereas in the case of SAB Tribulation Mode it’s NOT intended that people should be able to join a run in motion. People found this bug and are using it to make huge chunks of in-game currency; that is a textbook example of exploiting.

In terms of trivializing content, selling SAB tribulation mode should not be treated like selling dungeons, but treated like selling home-node runs, which IS a reportable offense. The reasoning for being able to report people offering parties to harvest home nodes is that, ostensibly, it’s an abuse of the LFG system. What this more or less confirms for me, however, is that advertising home node runs is banned because it specifically impacts gem store revenue, since otherwise Anet apparently doesn’t give a crap if you’re abusing the LFG tool even for clear exploitation. It’s disturbing…. but on the other hand maybe I’ll just throw up my hands and take part. Selling world 1 zone 1 for 3g is an easy 12g every 5-8 minutes. Somewhat more profitable than dungeon selling per time spent. (I’m being facetious, I wouldn’t feel right joining in, but kitten . The apparently legitimate money is tempting.)

(Addendum for clarity: I’m not saying Anet shouldn’t protect their revenue stream, I’m just saying they could extend the same protection to at least minimize impact on the LFG tool, which is absolutely flooded with W2 trib selling ads.)

Dragon Ball auto-balance [Merged]

This is incredibly annoying, and makes the win achievements absolutely infuriating. It sucks to be punished for other people deciding to quit.

Meta events not showing up

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I’m having this issue as well. The meta event title/status appear in the event assistant when the event is not in motion (i.e. “The maw is quiet”.) When an event starts, it disappears completely. For the Maw, it appeared again between each event, and disappeared again when the next event in the chain would start.

Shadow Behemoth is a bit worse, because it’s not linear like the Brogun escort, and you can’t tell the status of the Secrets in the Swamp chain.

I haven’t checked other (central Tyrian) world bosses, and I haven’t noticed the issue with meta events that don’t end with a world boss (admittedly I haven’t been able to play much recently so take that last assertion with a grain of salt).

~Also I apologize if this is a known issue, I did a forum search for “meta” and even “event” and got no hits (which was… weird..), and no hits doing a search within the lengthy HoT merged bugs thread. A google search brought me to this thread, hence the reluctant thread bump.
Edit: it seems to be within a certain radius. I just did Frozen Maw, where the beginning of the chain (around Krennak’s homestead WP) appeared normally, but during the escort (about the area where you hit the ice) the event assistant disappears.

Patch Today: Key Farming Impacted

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I really hope the drop rate is enough to make up for it. I’m holding out hope that it’s going to be; but as someone else said, with the fact SW mobs and the recent event mobs didn’t drop any regular loot means that an increased rate of keys may mean f—- all. Still — it would be nice for people who hate key farming to possibly get in on the action. Either that, or it’s just going to be more people experiencing the wonderful world of having 3 ticket scraps sitting in your bank for like 6 months.

I’m more here to join the chorus: Key farming doesn’t have as big an impact on the rate of key sales as the abysmal rate of returns on the chests does. I concur with the general assessment that the rate of returns on BL chests is downright painful. I purchased the account jump start for the bag/bank slots; at the sale price, the keys, dyes, and charges were just a nice bonus.

I used 8 of the 10 keys, and got one ticket scrap. Admittedly, that’s low even against my average, but it completely underscored to me why nobody in their right mind wants to buy keys.

Clarification: Snowball Mayhem & Groups

in A Very Merry Wintersday

^ This. I absolutely understand not having the ability to automatically join the same side in something that is sPvP, but a way of joining the same instance of an sPvP activity as the friend (or two) you’re grouped with would be excellent. I enjoy pelting my friends in the face with snowballs as much as I enjoy partnering with them — if not more. To be fair, I’ve had pretty good success re-joining the activity and ending up in the same instance as a friend I’m grouped with… but that’s not altogether fair to the people in the instances I join-and-ditch. A few times it has been a serious headache. Something that makes you able to join the same instance as a grouped friend, while still being subject to the sPvP team assignment and team shuffling rules would be nice.

Toypocalypse

Adamryason, just because it fits your playstyle doesn’t mean it fits everyone’s. I’m finding this highly annoying as well.

I am grateful Toypocalypse is back, and I am extremely grateful you can enter with groups this year. However, I don’t get why it has to be either/or. The beauty of being able to join on the fly was being able to play continuous games, without having to break to re-form a party between each game or two because one person wants to/has to quit. Again, I love the increased co-ordination this will bring, but I also wish I had the ability to jump into a game randomly without having to set up the darn thing first.

Adamryason you inadvertantly bring up a good (contrary) point, in the sense that yes, it is release day… but what about weeks 3-6 of wintersday? Why should I have to sit around waiting for a party because the enthusiasm of others has waned?

I love what they’ve done this year, but I’m disappointed that the decision was to jump all the way to the other side of the spectrum in regards to solo/party play.

Reaper's Rumble?

in Blood and Madness

I really REALLY hope Anet brings it back in a patch or something during this event. Reaper’s Rumble was THE thing my friends and I were hoping was potentially coming back; it has been a massive disappointment to see it (seemingly) axed from the itinerary. Lunatic Inquisition is enjoyable, but we prefer Southsun Survival (which we now have year-round)…. but I miss smashing pumpkins into peoples’ faces! Raising hoards of skeletons! Shooting people from half-way across the map! sigh
