I almost always test my builds out in pvp on the NPCs just to see how it rolls before I break it out in WvW. once I get in to live WvW action I will tweak the build until it suits me. but then again I have never been one to follow the “meta”. I also tend to find a build that works and stay with it. My Engi has ran basically the same build for 2 years. although once apon a time my friend Zadarh did help me out with it abit :]

Ok so pveing camps solo and then running from actual players is ok but expecting someone to fight you in wvw isn’t. Running a stealth build with no armor but tons of damage is ok or a stun burst build that keeps a person locked down till dead but Condi builds are not and if I don’t like it I should goto spvp.. I guess I could respond with if you want to Pve go to pve stay out of wvw (unless you want to fight) and all builds are viable you just have to learn to adjust to who and what your fighting . Really? You just used the “in real life” card? You know, a lot of people play these types of games. Kids, adults, mothers & fathers. From all walks of life and from many countries. And in real life, we are all different. Myself, I call home to the great state of Florida. I carry a sidearm all day every day. We can even defend ourselves to the death against unarmed attackers….and get away with it. Self defense and all. I guess I’d be one of your “kittens”…tho I’d be the one walking away.

As for this “game”, I tend to stay and fight…win or lose. You never know what kind of fun you run into when alone. Tho I’m not really much of a roamer so to speak. Just take it when it happens. I don’t have anything against those that do tho.

What I find funny, is when the enemy has a zerg that’s twice our zergs size…and they run…and it isn’t a baiting issue….they then ported. Just had that happen today too.

You seem to have missed the entire point of this post and that comment… I said people that need 4 friends to beat one person are kittenes you said " I guess I’d be one of your “kittens”…tho I’d be the one walking away." …. now you are bringing guns in to it and saying in a fight where you are 5 on 1 you being the 5 side would pull a gun on the one guy… good job tough guy. I live in Colorado. I am a 38 yo father of 4. I have a carry conceal permit in this state but I most certainly don’t need one to protect myself.

The short of it is that some aren’t running because they don’t want to duel or any of the reasons you’ve listed but rather because they’re trying to optimize the amount of information they can glean and/or the amount of points they can turn before the tick.

Another answer I can respect. I guess I am just of the mindset of see enemy kill them. not everyone works that way.

Well, do chase me instead of capping and please, do call your friends, the more to join in the game the merrier. They could see on the map that someone is capping, so basically if I am allowed to solo cap it means there’s not enough people on the map, or they’re all busy zerging somwhere ….

Normally we have 10 or so people on our map and yes you can solo a camp with out having someone stop you ( I can solo clear a camp in about a min) getting the next camp wont be so easy.

The points thing is the actual game you’re playing in Wvw. Fighting players is fun, fighting in groups is even more fun, running around looking for duels is not so much, so I group up and we make them come to us while collecting points. You will not see me capping solo a lot, it’s usually something I do when a server is empty and I am just roaming to find other players.

I happen to enjoy dueling a great deal and wish there was a que for it, I don’t enjoy zerging very much so I don’t do it often.. and as you say… you are roaming to find other players… so my question doesn’t really apply to you. it was to people that openly clearly are out to JUST take camps and avoid player vs player combat at all cost but I guess that’s just how some people choose to play.
I spend a great deal of time guarding a tower on my home map. I have done so for about a year and a half. If am guarding my tower and I see the either sent around me or either camp with swords I am after it. I am sure a lot of people don’t understand my defending but its what I enjoy with my busy life it works.

If you are trying to understand you are doing it wrong. You ask the question, but when people answers it, you argue against them, rather then going into depth.

As someone else mentioned, some of us are built for zerg fights. I guess you feel good, being built for roaming, and killing people who aren’t. Why don’t you join the zerg fight, and see how long you stand.

I actully do run with a zerg busting crew of RISE. These guys are about as hard core and bad kitten as it gets …. And guess what.. I don’t change my build one bit for running with them and I do just fine. My build is a hybrid build that I made that is good for anything I want to do. I just have to adjust and PLAY the game. I would never run a cheese build built for one thing that would be extremely boring to me. I can solo group or zerg run. All with the same build and do well at all of them just by adjusting how I play. But thanks… My question is to you why would you be soloing camps in your zerg build? Or did you not actually read what my issue is just added your 2 cents?

Like I said, do most people here not realize that most solo players running aren’t actually roaming, but getting to a destination/tag? Obviously, if they were roaming, they’d be engaging.

As I said. I see people ALL the time clearly solo roaming. no towers being taking only camps flipping. they will take a camp by them self and if you cut them off before the next camp meet them in the camp with the ring up or engage them in anyway on a player vs player fight they will turn and run
that is what I am talking about. if I see a zerg run past or know there is one around me and see a solo player run I understand it. I don’t when people just want to PVE a camp but avoid other players at all cost.
The worst are the ones that just stop and stand there…. your attacking things on my map and I should what… just let you live. no you get the spike too. if I do see a Solo or even 2 or 3 people headed for the JP and they are not touching yaks sent or camps just moving though I will leave them alone. Lol, alright since people like to twist words let me clarify what I had stated earlier… This is your game, play it how you like. I don’t expect people to “feed my ego” by engaging in a fight with me I just get frustrated when people are constantly fleeing from combat. It’s like going paintballing and only shooting targets. You paid your money to be there and you’re entitled to do as you wish, but you can’t say “don’t shoot me” to the other players. If you want to shoot targets all day go to a firing range not a competitive zone. If I see a solo and they think “fighting that person would be a waste of my time” I would love to ask them how they think playing a video game is in any way shape or form not ALREADY a waste of your time…
Run if you like… But don’t claim others to be bothering you, a waste of your time to fight, that you’re not built for 1v1’s or that they’re using some form of cheese. Admitting it’s because you know you’re a bad player and would rather PvE is the correct answer. And you’re bad because you’re not willing to learn by engaging in a fight. The heaven’s won’t come crashing down if you’re not able to scout for 60 seconds, take a shot and you might learn something, you might win… Heck, you might even have fun…

I normally have no issues with thieves. Some days they beat me most they dont. I don’t cry when they do. I can take a beating and learn from it. I am simply trying to understand why. IF someone does roam solo taking camps by them selves they would run from another solo person. I spend 90% of my time guarding a tower on my home map. Is I see sentrys flipping and camps with swords I go see what’s what. I am amazed to often find a solo player in a camp guards all dead ring up I rush in and….. They run away. I have been guarding a tower on GoM boarderland for over a year and a half now. I use on average 30-40 sup ac and 10-15 sup Bali a week not to mention trebs and cats… I often have to leave what am doing ever 45 mins to run back and refresh siege. It’s pain in the kitten and my gold stack. I would love to see a longer timer.

Go up to the workers and talk to them /f sometimes they bug and you have to kick them back in to gear. Lazy workers. Should be able to pay then to repair walls and whatnot when everything is upgraded.

I have watched a the NE tower on GoMs map for over a year and a half now. It’s know as Zorins tower but most of GoM . I spend a vast majority of my time in said tower. I am rank 325. I would have no problem spend 300 points on one of my chrs to get a siege timer increase. It very possible to do both. But I understand what you mean. I often feel tied to my tower and have to leave what am doing to go refresh siege. I set a 48 Mon timer on my phone and run back to refresh it. I am all for extended timers but I wouldn’t mind paying for the ability.

I would say make it so you spend WvW points to extend timer. Make it like the plus 5 supply. 300 points would make siege last say 6 hours even.

I really don’t know where you are getting your info but it’s just plan wrong. My tower has been attacked repeatedly this week by DR (and taken a few time when I wasn’t on ) I have seen DH groups hitting us ( matter of a fact DH just took my tower again while I am at work )but DR has put 30-40 man groups on our map all week long. Sorry your losing but you are way off base thinking we are teaming up with DR. If we are they didn’t get the memo to stay out of my tower. Yes it’s mine I have been watching it for almost 2 years now lol. I know gom homeland D . I know who hits us. Trust me DR is not afraid to hit us hard and does so over and over. Get your facts before you talk.

I couldn’t agree more. I have always enjoyed our fights with ET and NSP I was very happy to see on Friday. its been a fun week on D in the tower.. well until the huge zerg ball rolls over it but still. I always look forward to Os and there many pronged attacks on it, It is sad how few we seem to have now a days but that’s just what we have to deal with. In memory of the friends that left this week (and I had a great many leave) I will be flipping the beaver to black for the rest of the week.

For a person That dies on a enamy map then spams for 10 mins party requests then sends a in game mail talking crap and right away blocks me before I can respond you have no place calling anything classy or not classy Korra. For someone with over 100 WvW ranks I would expect better. But hey I guess its only wrong if your on the one down side. Look at your self in the mirror before you judge others

TC right now has had 4 grievers going around the borderlands. They come in, suicide golems, give false information, and build loads of rams to drain the supply. All are upleveled players with mostly bad/obvious troll names.

Honestly, if anet is going to keep doing fre trials, they have to find a way to actual stop grievers in WvW. Free players grieving paying players is never a good model, especially if it is never stopped.

Reporting the account seems to do NOTHING. I remember in the past people would report the troll, and yet days later the person is still there, after lots of people report, with pictures, etc. Anet rarely seems to ever enforce anything in WvW.

So, if its only periodic for a couple days every few months, wtv…but if its a stepping stone to them offering long term free periods (like free to a max level of 20, etc), then they’ll have to start to actually enforce grieving in WvW.

OK I never do this but.
So….. on sunday am sitting in briar with my First capt and running mate Ryback when we see this Bronze Assaulter or Invader or something thing running by….. I jump off the wall and attack since well I was on patrol at the time it was GOM border land and it was a red name… Ryback jumped down and we proceeded to stop this poor Ele in to the ground she didn’t fight back but right away started to spam us with party requests, and I do mean SPAM. we ignore her and let it be. she comes back stands in front of briar and so I go out there and take her down again. she doesn’t fight back so I don’t spike her I just down her and leave…. we are then spamed with party requests for 5 mins and then I get a mail in game saying you’re —-—-s go —-- your selves. and I am blocked by said player before I can respond… sound like something you would do Korra? I don’t understand the anger and whatnot when running though enemy land and getting attacked.

Wow 4 commanders transfer over night. 2 i knew well and 2 not so much. kind of makes you think. Starlight, I had a great deal of respect for as a commander at one point and lillium, I counted as one of my closest friends in game. while we haven’t spoke in a long while, and I won’t even pretend I understand or support some of the things that have happened since then. I will say, I will miss you. I will never forget the birthday party you threw for me or the time you had to settle me down for jumping on people to harshly. I hope I never meet ether of you on the battlefield… for 1 I suck vr necros.. and 2 I hate the idea of fighting a friend.

I, over the last few weeks, have grown grumpy and have not been having fun playing. For those that don’t know me; I and my small guild have held the northeast tower on our map for going on 8 months now. Week in, week out, we are there. I have personaly spent over 200 gold in upgrades and siege, 1000s of hours played and loved every min of it. I have 2 chr I play both only rank 23 because I spend 95% of my time in my tower. The last few weeks have been hard. Losing fully upgraded and fully sieged towers to power groups when am gone less then5 mins. Being told am the worst player on gom. Being asked to leave the map so people who “actually want to play” can get in and the smack talk/rudeness all have gotten me to the point where I have set my guild so that I can retire….. this weeks events have changed my mind. I am reminded, I don’t do what I do so people will notice or respect me. I don’t do it for anything other then love of the server. I love GOM. I WILL ALWAYS FIGHT FOR IT. People can come and go; I will stay and do my part. I will be the positive influence that I and many of the older crew always have been.

Gom is in a rough patch we will fight and come through stronger then ever. we will [RHISE] from the [ASH]es to fight another day. Like the [JEDI] we will do what’s right. we have a [RICH] player base with [HOT] heads but we all love each other at the end of the day. We will [WORM] our way back to the top as it should be… ok I know I missed a few but hell give me a break lol, message me in game and I will add your guild in.

I have cleared my blocked list. I will harbor no more ill will to server mates. all is forgotten. lets ROLL GOM
and I want to add that any Hambugers or other guilds that had there leaders leave if you need a new home hit me up DS would be proud to have you.

On a side note Zorin, later in the day (I don’t care what you americans say, it’s reset MORNING, not reset night kitten it) someone commented in map chat saying that someone had fully sieged up crag tower, and that it was a really good idea. We were all just like “yep, that’s zorin’s tower. It’s his baby. You don’t kitten with zorin’s tower”

I do my best with what I have. I take a lot of pride in it and I thank the people that help me. I have “basic” siege down most days.
Varda was one of the people that helped me set my siege last night and watched the tower for me when I went to watch a movie with my daughter… that’s what throws me off so much about this… I considered him a very close friend and someone I could talk to. I guess that’s why am so disappointed and sad…. as I said am all about having fun… but you don’t mess over a hole server so you can have fun… it turned out ok but… it easily could have been VERY bad.

Stupid amounts of siege?…… THAT IS A LIE there is no such thing… I take my tower D at Cargtop very seriously and I only have a basic siege set down. I always look forward to a good fight but am also ready for one.

Just because something is legal doesn’t make it not abuse. Things get abused and can be deemed morally reprehensible despite what the law says.

If I have a beer, am I abusing alcohol? Just because you see paraphernalia doesn’t mean there is abuse involved. It may mean there is USE.

Fear the Beaver

As someone that spend 95% of my time in game in my guilds tower watching it and the camps around it( 25-30 hours a week) .this change SUCKSSSSSSS!!!!!. I was out of the tower today defending the North camp showed back up to a open gate and 10 man on the lord. a fully upgraded tower with plenty of siege laid, lost in less then 2 mins. by the time the swords popped and got called it was over. Thats just not right. thats well over a gold in upgrades and siege just gone to one sup ram and 10 guys… I enjoy guarding a tower.. but being chained to it. never leaving for fear of losing it. thats not fun.

Wish I didn’t miss all the fun in fight club last night though. Funny how that guy at titan didn’t like your bird Zorin. That seems to be the case where ever you go.

I do miss the fights along side you too Pita. I’ve gotten spoiled from it since I often have someone else with me and think we can handle 5-6 no problem. Trouble is, its not you and I turn around to see that I’m the only one left standing. Those foes still standing have that look of I’m going to kill me a mes. At that point, its about survival and seeing how many guys I can down. Very hard to finish guys with that kind of odds.

I know. if its not my bird, its my bear, or worse my tower, i think they just dont want me to have friends. Maybe its my big blue beaver that offends?

I would just like to say to the NSP guild that knocked down the door to Crag and killed me yesterday afternoon. That wasnt very nice, I was Afk changing a diaper for maybe 3 mins and had no idea anything was even at the door untill i herd myself dieing. while I think this says something very poor about the design of a Fully upgraded tower that it can be taken in under 5 mins, It also shows how good you guys are at taking over towers… poo diaper and lost my tower at the same time not a great way to send a sunday afternoon lol.
To the HOD group that hit this morning. FUN Fight. you guys kept countering our siege and trying new spots to take the door down. every attack i learn something new. you guys helped alot. I enjoy tower defences like that and they are even better when my Blue Beaver is still flying at the end.

No we did not drop intentionally, albeit alot of people did take a a break from wvw because it had gotten to such a rediculous stage of double teaming.
I have nothing bad to say about BP, they actually fought fair. And i know people will post and say blah blah blah NSP QQ etc. But search the old threads and you’ll see pictures of both AR and BP spies on our server in party with invaders giving them info of our movements.
I know of one NSP “commander” who did work with BP to double team ar, but he was not a representative of the NSP WvW alliance of guilds, nor did he command a guild but pugs who knew no better.
I welcome a new fight, with GoM and HoD, you guys have alot of smaller forces (your reaction time needs a little work but maybe i just caught you in your offtime, apologies) It’s very refreshing to fight new opponents, new strategies to sauce out is always fun.

About the glitch, I dont hold it Against GoM as a Server, But [HH], cant wait to find you.

Spawn camping is also good in my books. I dont particularly like it but i dont condone it. Its not an overpowering strategy by any means as Bird has shown.

People mentioned that NSP camp the JP puzzle, I used to hate it but after fighting AR and BP for what seemed like eternity, you literally couldnt walk in there without being ready to sneak by the campers and port a big force in to take them out. Nothing else would do. Until the patch they loved setting up a kittentonne of seige in there. If you get killed by an NSP player in the EB JP im sorry but you can thank AR and BP for our conditioning, i did however have a very pleasant convo with a HoD player who was clueless and i showed him the way through (unfortunately he fell off the pillar on his own accord, died and logged off)

:-) that was a fun fight at Dawn’s we pushed you guys back 3 or 4 times before you took it. Anytime you see that Blue Beaver flying you better be ready for a fight. I take my towers very serious lol.
