Just finished 2 jumping puzzles. The Crystal one where you get morphed abunch (found an already open chest at the end of it that I couldn’t loot) and the hardest one i’ve done yet, Griffonrook Run. (Where ya gotta carry the bomb to the chest in 3 mins without getting hit) and the reward for me getting my bomb all the way to the chest and opening it? No loot….
I spent like an hour or 2 trying to get this done even reset my traits to get the fall dmg trait only to get 0 loot afterwards.
I’m pretty sure this is a bug, because the other jumping puzzles always have loot at the end.
It was my first time doing both on my char and account, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be giving me loot besides it being bugged.

You can talk to the NPC who normally raids the base and start the event via diagloue, but the event will never start. She’ll even attack the Firebase with her companions, but then she’ll proceed to just run around in circles inside of it with them. Forever trying to capture it (and never succeeding) If you talk to her while she’s in the Firebase she’ll act like she already captured it while dredge respawn over and over inside of it.
I’m pretty sure this event being broken is creating a brick wall which is not allowing connecting events to start.
It only takes like 5-10 secs to reload back in whenever you guys put up a new build so I don’t think this would bother many people.
Had problems in Den Fields with a skill point event being broken.
Then had problems in Lornar’s Pass with the Caspian Bridge being permanently dead. (Which effects a POI and like 6 events)
Then had problems ALL OVER Fields of Ruin with very few events working at all. Don’t even know how many events are not working in Fields of Ruin
So to temporarily fix this I suggest you fine folks at Arenanet restart the servers more often. Even if you don’t have a build ready to go, make people restart and reset all events every like 6 hours or something. It would at least fix the events temporarily till you guys can fix them yourselves.
Yea i find that problem a lot too, unless i’m fighting a group event boss, it takes time for mesmer damage to achieve max dps. I guess you could call it a dot oriented dmg class with little to no burst dmg which makes doing events really obnoxious as even though you’re buffing the hell out of everyone you’re not getting credit for helping.
It provides the same problem as trying to heal during an event, you don’t get credit for healing.
Makes ya just want to roll a thief and spam your instant burst dmg during events and get credit for EVERYTHING.
It’s like Bearhugger said.
& well, regular mobs in good raids are more often then not pretty tough, I’ve seen quite some raids in different games were they a raid had a few easier bosses then trash.
That’s just what makes it fun to get through. :>
Obviously our definitions of fun are different.
When I’m challenged I’m having fun.
There’s no real challenge to these dungeons far as I’ve seen, it’s just like banging your head against a wall until it finally crumbles.
If you die (which you will, a lot), you just get back up and rejoin the fight to die again and rinse and repeat. No strategy required, just zerg stuff down and die alot. Booooring.
If arena net wants some tips on creating a challenging dungeon using active dodge techniques. (V) They should invest some time watching or playing “The Secret World” nightmare dungeons, but you should also bring back tanks and healers for dungeons at least.

I think it’s a bug, any problem with the game is a bug in my eyes seeing as there’s not much forum choices to pick from.
Players helping players is for hints etc. There’s no hint to do dungeon better. It’s just a zergfest where you constantly die over and over and keep trying till you kill everything.
No tanks and no healers in pvp is fine sure, but in dungeons? As a thief with good dmg you’ll pull aggro instantly and since no tanky class wants to run in to melee stuff (cause they’ll instantly die and be unable to dodge anything because THERE ARE NO ENEMY CAST BARS… <- another major BUG… aka problem) You’ll just be constantly dying the whole instance unless you hide like a coward and do no dmg.
If you want no tanks and healers arena net then make instances not require them. Aka every attack is avoidable 24/7. No heat seeking projectiles. No knockdown insta-kills etc.
And for the love of god give enemies cast bars we can see, so we know when to interrupt or dodge.

On both my Armorsmith and my Weaponsmith all my ingot recipes have vanished since the most recent patch. (Yes even bronze ingot lol) I’m pretty sure I need those and other people have reported that they have not lost their own ingot recipes…
My random yellow dye recipe on my cook has also vanished into thin air.
Thanks for reading.
Roll over and die.
I found the differences in downed abilities really annoyed me on each class.
Engie’s isn’t as great as it sounds btw. It’s probably as bad as Ele.
Mesmer and Theif though…. you’ll get away scot free like 90% of the time.
Kite, Kite, Kite.
With my staff on or my scepter + focus on I was easily able to out run him while kiting him around the room. Took forever to finish him but I got him down.
Use the staffs teleport to maintain distance (along with V) and use the focus’s speed buff. Can also use blink and decoy for even better movement.
The way kiting in this game works is just a big circle btw, trying to kite in a straight line doesn’t work.
But yea I was p’d off when he killed me the first time. I was expecting some kind of reprieve after the hall o’ traps before I had to fight a hard boss with multiple minions and useless NPCs attempting to help.
That fight taught me that the more NPC backup a storyline mission gives you, the more you should be putting on survival skills. (The designers thought the npcs wouldn’t be completely useless I suppose? Like they literally walked into the room and got 1 shot)

Mesmer, most unique class in any MMO ever. Definitely go Mesmer.
Hard time in PVE? You’re kidding right? I never die, I can solo veterans without ever getting hit. In group situations my Illusionary Warlocks hit for insane amounts of damage and I constantly buff my teammates.
They’re just plain fantastic, you have to try him and see how ya like it. Try to rebind your utility skills and your F1-F4 skills to something better though, kinda hard to press Mind Wrack all the time when you have to reach up and press F1 to do it.
For weapons I suggest Scepter + Focus and Staff, melee in this game is a headache, Scepter is a must have weapon, Focus gives you a fantastic aoe/tanky phantasm and a aoe speed buff/debuff you can use to buff yourself and allies while crippling enemies and throwing them around. If you want to make yourself even more defensive though, go Scepter + Torch, for the invisibility.
Staff is just your all purpose Event weapon. Keeps you alive easily while soloing as well.
Decoy + Blink + Focus speed buff will make sure you can always get away when situations turn bad. (Aka, you just realized trying to solo that group event boss wasn’t such a good idea)

Mesmer hands down, best class in GW.
Why? It’s the most unique class in any MMO i’ve ever played. Every other class is just a copy of a standard. (Mage, Rogue, Warrior archtype)
I also enjoy the hell out of playing him, but that’s just me.
I’d recommend heavily against melee heavy classes like warrior and guardian. Melee in this game is just a massive headache of death after death. Enemies have no cast bars, so you’ll never know when to interrupt or dodge an incoming attack besides trying to judge it based on the movements and timing of your enemy. Which becomes nigh impossible when there’s 20+ people attacking it.
Guardian does have access to ranged attack support/healing weapons but their damage is so low that during events you’ll have hard times getting gold. (Apparently healing isn’t important enough)
You might as well throw healing out the window too cause out of every class I’ve played has horrible healing abilities, but every single one has an aoe heal ability that can easily be slotted instead of a self-heal. (Your 6th slot) Which means every class can help heal a little but far as I’ve seen no such thing as a great dedicated healer.
I found Thief really easy to learn and did great damage, but got boring due to a very simple damage roation. (Auto-Attack + press 1 button… use utility skills when they aren’t on cd)
I’m maining Mesmer atm and it’s great fun, not as fun as Mesmer was in GW, but still good. It has a lot of support skills, good damage, and a endless supply of quickly summoned pets that you can explode to do special things. He has some good aoe heals as well, constantly giving regeneration to allies.
I can’t really compare him to any class in WoW, cause Mesmer as far as I know is one of the most unique classes in GW and MMOs as a whole as far as I know. (Hard to kill support class with good damage output, great buffs and clones he constantly summons during combat)
