Sadly, Im playing in the Mac beta and, for me at least, every time I get into WvW I crash

Hopefully they will get all of those problems worked out soon so I can try the PvP

There is a blue version of the sword: Jormag’s Breath. It is not the easiest to get, but quite doable with some farming (considering the costs of other special exotics).

Thanks for the replies. Kinda sucks thats the only way to get the sword but I get that people that did play GW1 deserve something for playing it and sticking with the series. Maybe one day they will recolor it or something and make it available in some other way.

Welcome. My wife bought me the Collectors Edition for xmas because she was tired of us playing wow also lol. I’ve only been playing for about 3 days but I’m having a blast and do not regret leaving wow because of what its become. I’m on Sorrow’s Furnace, dont know anyone there yet but its very fun.

I bought the Collectors Edition and started playing a couple days ago. Havent done much in the game. Decided on a Human Thief.

The more I stare at that Rytlock statue the more I want a Charr Warrior lol.
I was wondering if that sword and armor are obtainable in the game because I would really love to make one that looks like that.

Not really. With vent you can change the incoming sensitivity on your mic so that only you are heard, I have an extremely loud 3 year old so trust me on that one. Also you can buy a mic that isnt uncomfortable for long periods of use. In my case I just use the set that I use for my 360, Turtle Beach X12. By far not the best mic but I can wear it for hours and never feel a thing.

I’ve always used Skype, for personal friends, or Vent, for guilds, in every MMO that I’ve played and will continue to do so. Hell, the first time my guild cleared Naxx in WotLK we were all in an xbox live party because someone couldnt load their vent lol. Is it really that hard to load a program up and connect with a friend before you load your game? It takes, maybe, 30 seconds. I also have no problem with the in game text chat system. Seems fine to me.

If he can convince me that this game is P2W I will buy him some gold from Anet.

I just started playing 2 days ago. I have no clue what people are buying. I’m genuinely curious about it.

What are people buying that gives them an edge over you in any way? You say gold. In that regard, what are people buying with that gold, in game, thats giving them an edge over you in any way?

Because if he KNEW something that would bring the changes to the game that no one else knew he wouldnt have said, “you will find out in a few months” leaving his desperation to make people think he knows something extremely open. He would have come out and said it. Until he does, his comment, in my opinion at least, is an undeniable fact that he knows nothing and is praying to the gods of embarrassment to take mercy on him.

I do that in this game. One of my friends only gets to play about an hour a night. The times he is on I lvl an alt with him. I was just giving WoW as an example because you’ve brought it up alot. The communication issues you have, I cant comment on those because we know what Skype is for.

You’re blaming Anet for not being able to play with friends because you guys play the same content at separate times, a lvl gap forms and you, or they, cant go back and redo the content thats already been done? Why dont you do what I did in WoW for the past 5 years, since you like bringing that game up alot. Make toons that you only play when each other are online and your own guild for them. They may not level up quickly but at least you’ll be able to play the exact same content at the same time as your friends and communicate the way you want.

Out of everything that has been said in this thread, this has to be my favorite comment by far. Just because if whatever you “know” doesn’t happen in a few months, which is an extremely vague statement, everyone will have forgotten this thread and you wont be embarrassed about anything. But if whatever it is does happen, it wont but we can pretend that it does, you can just go into your favorites, necro this by then dead thread, and scream from the rooftops “SEE! I TOLD YOUZ GUYS SO!!!!”

Nope. You don’t get to decide whether or not anything else changes

Business 101: ANet has a reputation to uphold. They would have to put in new mechanics, start balancing that bloody mess, and produce new content for the server.

They do not want to provide that content because they are focused on a different variety of players. You are clearly not a part of that variety, so sorry but that’s life.

Again – What you’re asking for is like asking McDonalds to incorporate an extra cashier in every restaurant that accepts orders from Hell’s Kitchen.

While it may sound awesome in your head, it sounds idiotic to the company.

By that logic it’s best not to ask A-Net for anything.

I think I understand what you’re saying but I still have no clue how you’re going to get out.

Until it turns into this on the forums in every post regarding PvP:

PvE Server Poster-“I’m good at PvP”

FFA Server Poster-“You’ll never be on my level because I’m on the FFA server which, by default, makes me better than you”

PvE-“But I’ve done this, and this”

FFA-“Doesn’t matter. You’re a PvE casual because you play on ____ Server and I am a true hardcore PvPer because I play on the FFA server. Go back to WoW”

Just let it sit for a while, in my case 45 mins due to internet connection problems, and it will eventually come up. In most cases 2-15 minutes from what has been said on here.

Letting my launcher sit there for about 45 mins seemed to work. It started downloading. Of course I’m on a 3g connection until Thurs. when I get my net hooked back up so by then I will probably be around 3% done with the download :p

Will I be able to play this with what I have?

I’m completely new to mac so this question may seem rather dumb but, I cant seem to get my mac os x to update. If anyone could help me that would be great. I’ve clicked on “Software Update..” and all that is there is updates for my old printer.

I know this probably isnt the place to ask this but I really dont know where else to go.

I’m also having a problem with the launcher not downloading.
