I, for one, am a sucker for the Guild Wars living world stories and lore, and I feel like all the new changes help bring new aspects to the game, and allow players to feel more individual and unique from others, cant wait for the expansion

I have pre-ordered the Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns expansion and as said when I bought it, I would have access to all the beta events from now on

One question though…

When are these beta event weekends?

Yeah. I agree.
We’ve got all these questions (where were you? what happened? Can we now know where you got that sword from!?) and all he does is grunt and growl. So you can’t fault him for being consistent.
Still it’s possible that there’s more going on here, and we’ll later learn the details. Sort of a In medias res style thing? Maybe Rytlock is working for the human gods and has been sent to the jungle to do something.

Or (lets hope not) he just popped out of the mists and will not hang around as some secondary character.

Rytlock got his sword (named Sohothin) from killing King Adelburn during the raids of Ascalon, and he was gone for so long because he went into the mists to retrieve his sword after it was lost preforming a ritual to end the ghosts that haunt the Charr, just some lore knowledge for you ;P

I think the big come back of Rytlock was a bit strange and akward. Without any explaination he suddenly pops out of nowhere. then he helps you finish the fight. After that the story is suddenly over, without time to discuss with him where the hell he has been.

Well first off that was only just part of the first episode of the new season of living world that is to be released with heart of thorns, it’ll all be explained in coming episodes, my guess is though he channeled the spirits in the mists and finally got a class, the revanant class

If you were going to fight an Elder Dragon of plants and save all of Tyria, only then to be hit out of the air by huge vines and then crash into the middle of enemy territory, all of your friends are dead, and you have no clue how to get out of here, would you be happy?

Might just be your graphics settings, they were very high quality for me

Well there was some lag in between casting skills, and sometimes my glider didnt deploy when I jumped

One word. Amazing.

As soon as I popped into the event, made my revenant, and loaded in, the beginning cut scene already told me that this was going to be an enjoyable time. It set the mood of how serious things were now with the Pact fleet crashed in Mordremoth’s territory. After I tested out all the revenant skills and abilities, which i may add were fun as hell to use this entire time, I set off to begin the quest.

As soon as I entered Verdant Brink, my breath was taken away from me. The whole atmosphere, the views, EVERYTHING about this place was fantastic. The new enemies added in this area, the new Hylek, the events, the day/night cycle made me feel as if I was actually in this area, fighting to help the stranded.

And the last 5 minutes of the beta event, my Glider mastery was researched. And let me tell you, it is so much fun to use this thing. You actually can control yourself through the air and allow you to get to new areas that before you couldn’t reach. When the last minute came, I set off on my glider, flew to the highest place possible. I took in the scenery of Verdant Brink, knowing that there was still so much to do and explore.

ArenaNet, you outdid yourself. This expansion coming to Guild Wars 2 adds so much that its hard to list everything down on paper without forgetting something. And to anyone reading this that wasn’t able to make it into the Beta event. Get pumped, because when this expansion releases, you’ll be playing this game for hours and hours.

Ahh ok, i never played Guild Wars 1, thanks for the Info!

I was looking at the map of Tyria today, and I realized something

At first, the map seemed huge, so many places to explore, so many different things to see, it filled me with excitement!

Come to find out later that alot of these areas, The rings of fire, the Crystal desert, the far shiverpeaks, are unexplorable.

I do hope that future versions of the game explore those areas, because I love looking deeper into Tyria and finding all of the different areas, races, challenges, etc.

Just some food for thought
